“Breanna accepted the drop in just a couple hours before. She was great with nala and simba. My instructions were so tedious as it was last minute and she handled everything great. She was kind to clean up after them. I truly felt comfortable having her in my home and caring for my babies. I will book her again.”

About: Hi! I’m your pet’s new favorite human 😉 and a reliable animal lover who loves keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable. I grew up with cats and dogs and have become the go-to sitter for friends and family when they travel. I’m happy to care for pets based on their personalities—whether that’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I’ll treat them like part of my own pack (or clowder 🐾). I work from home so I have a flexible schedule and open availability, including weekends and holidays, and I’m an early bird, so morning feedings, walks, and check-ins are no problem. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine and provide consistent attention, care, and companionship to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities, and I follow their routine closely to create a calm, loving environment. I’m also tidy and respectful of your home, keeping things clean and organized while caring for your furry friend. 🐾
“I really appreciate Heather for stepping in to help me out to look out for Dolly. I would definitely use her in the future. she showed up on time and helped my mom and her dog out in assisted-living facility. Thank you Heather for your help.”

“We have two different breeds of dogs that can be challenging to take care of. Adam and Autumn are excellent in communicating and have taken amazing care of our dogs on several occasions. Our dogs are more comfortable at home, rather than be boarded and it’s extremely comforting to know they are in great care while we are gone. They truly care about your pets and I couldn’t envision using another service or person to watch our dogs!”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was born. I have trained two dogs myself including my current dog. I can reinforce training during visits or walks. I know how to perform subcutaneous injections, prepare and use a feeding tube, and a master of delivering oral medication. Willing to do teeth brushing and nail trimming for an additional fee. I work part time at the Safari. My work hours range from 7am to 5:30pm most days. So I can do visits before or after work. I will share my availability for each week at request. Willing to do visits or walks as late as 8pm. I am flexible to how you want me to treat your pets whether it be spoiled or rigid training. I care for my own dog with one scent lead walk a night and the occasional heel walk. I also reinforce training throughout the day at home.
“Great communication and an instant positive connection with the dogs! She was amazing and I didn’t have any second thoughts or stress knowing my dogs were in such good hands. I highly recommend Jacqueline if you want a caring, punctual, and responsible dog sitter who is capable of handling any and all challenges thrown her way!”

“Our first time using Rover/Carley and the service s exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much Carley for caring for boys. The photos show on them happy and doing so well they don’t even miss us!”

“Ana not only did a thorough, careful, loving job of caring for my babies, she is also genuinely one of my new favorite humans. She checked off every item from the list and sent me lots of pictures, which I love. She was very communicative, on time, and detail-oriented in her work. I cannot express how much it meant to me to really be able to enjoy my trip because I was able to trust her back home. I will absolutely be hitting her again in the future.”

About: Proud owner of an Australian cattle dog named Roxy. Father of two. I'm professional communicative and honest. I show up when I say I'm going to and provide the best experience possible for your dog. I am available anytime 7 days a week. Day or night for house visits, and dog walks. I know how stressful it could be worrying about your pet when you are away. I always make sure your dog is happy and tired and ready for a nap after my walks. Some dogs need a little more exercise than others, and I will make sure that they are satisfied.
About: I love dogs and cats! I own one of each, and have fostered about forty. I have learned great leash-training skills, and behavior management of fearful dogs to help them feel more comfortable. I am fit and enjoy exercise, so I am happy to take your dog on long walks or even hikes! I can also administer treats on a walk if a dog needs some leash-training. Most importantly, I will treat your pup with kindness and affection. I am a teacher, so I have a lot of availability during the summer and holidays. For care in my home, I only live about five minutes from work, making it easy for me to check on animals during the day. For care in your home, I bring my own dog with me overnight. She is good with other animals. I am currently home full time for the summer. I spend a lot of time outside and love to take dogs for walks. I am also happy to chill inside and relax and give scritches. In my home, I have a secure fenced yard outside and a large crate available inside. At others’ homes I am respectful of my surroundings and treat all animals and property with great care.

Heather did a great job taking care of our senior kitty! She was communicative and took care of everything we needed while we were out of town on a week long work trip. Moonbeam is a shy cat and usually doesn't like strangers, but it's a testament to Heather's character that Moonbeam came out to say hello and allowed her pets and brushes!

Crystal did a phenomenal job with our kitty Fia. She followed our feeding directions so well. She gave informative updates with great pictures at each visit. I was incredibly pleased with her services and look forward to booking her again when we travel! Thank you Crystal!!!

Karis is a 5-star pet sitter. She is attentive, kind, and extremely considerate. Her communication was great throughout, and she followed all of our instructions carefully. We felt much better being away from our cats knowing she was checking in on them. We would definitely use her again. Thank you so much for spending time with our kitties and taking such amazing care of them!

I had an amazing experience with B this past weekend while I was at Coachella. She was incredibly attentive, clearly cared about the little details, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She sent lots of great photos of my cats, which I loved, and kept consistent communication the entire time. It’s such a relief knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely book with her again, highly recommend!

Carolina was excellent, thoughtful and trustworthy taking care of my pets while I was away from home. She took the request on short notice and was still able to get fully familiar with my pets routine so that she could handle everything they need. My pets both drew to her immediately and she gave very positive and detailed updates as I was away. I highly recommend her for drop-ins and extended requests, and will definitely book her again.

Tamara went above and beyond my expectations. I really appreciated all the updates during her visits. My cat looked happy and relaxed in the pictures she sent, and I could see that she was taking very good care of him. My cat can be pretty messy, so I was also surprised to see everything so clean when I got home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Escondido. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
