About: Hi! I’m your pet’s new favorite human 😉 and a reliable animal lover who loves keeping pets safe, happy, and comfortable. I grew up with cats and dogs and have become the go-to sitter for friends and family when they travel. I’m happy to care for pets based on their personalities—whether that’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I’ll treat them like part of my own pack (or clowder 🐾). I work from home so I have a flexible schedule and open availability, including weekends and holidays, and I’m an early bird, so morning feedings, walks, and check-ins are no problem. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine and provide consistent attention, care, and companionship to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities, and I follow their routine closely to create a calm, loving environment. I’m also tidy and respectful of your home, keeping things clean and organized while caring for your furry friend. 🐾
About: I have extensive experience in raising, training, and caring for dogs, including a variety of tasks such as administering medications and insulin shots for diabetic dogs. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong understanding of canine behavior and have honed my skills in training dogs through positive reinforcement methods. I am currently working from home as a Veterans Benefits advocate FT. I do have control of my schedule so I am very flexible with your schedule. I am a reliable and trustworthy individual when it comes to watching and caring for your dogs. With a genuine love for animals and a deep understanding of dog behavior, I prioritize the safety and well-being of every pet in my care. I have a spacious, secure yard where dogs can play and explore safely under supervision. Additionally, I have two well-behaved and trained Heelers who are friendly and love making new canine friends. Their calm and social nature helps create a welcoming environment for other dogs, ensuring they feel comfortable and at ease during their stay.
About: Hello! My name is Crystal and I am a 26 year old teacher! As a teacher, I carry a lot of patience which feeds into my pet caring skills. Growing up, there was always a pet, both cats and dogs, around that got attention and love from me. I am a quick learner who would love to learn about your beloved pet and follow your wants and needs! I am currently a teacher who is on summer break! I take care of my pets everyday when I come home and would love to spend my available time with other pets as well! When entering other’s homes, I will always come in calmly and quietly. I will treat your home with the outmost respect as if it was my home. I pick up after myself and leave everything where it belongs.
About: I am extroverted and creative, and I have an affinity for people having unique inspirations and passions. I really love animals, but sadly, have none to call my own! I would love to be around them more, and offer my help and care to the community who may need it. I have been inconsistently house sitting and dog walking for years now, but I am now hoping to do it more often! I have a lack of reviews, but it’s not for lack of experience :) I am laid back and I have a very flexible schedule! My availability is almost entirely open. Let me know if you need care last minute! I enjoy giving them outdoor time, so they can run around, and let out all their excitement and energy. I also love giving them little treats, when they are allowed!
About: Growing up in the country, my environment was filled with dogs, which gave me hands-on experience with different breeds early on. I have cared for everything from small, high-energy breeds like Chihuahua's to larger, and stronger breeds like Rottweilers and Pit-bulls. This exposure taught me how to adapt to the unique needs of each dog, including their exercise routines, feeding habits, and personality quirks. My ability to connect with dogs of all sizes and temperaments ensures they feel secure and cared for under my supervision. Rounded up I have five years of experience caring for dogs of different temperaments, sizes, and breeds making knowledge, communication, and compassion key skills of mine! These skills have been used to care for all types of dogs, whether it be seniors, new borns, or behavior challenged dogs! Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine, my flexible schedule allows me to prioritize the needs of the animals in my care. As a high school graduate, I have the freedom to manage my time efficiently, ensuring I can provide consistent attention and care throughout the day. I schedule feeding times, walks, medications, and potty breaks around my coursework, giving each pet the structure they need while staying on top of my responsibilities. My ability to balance these tasks ensures that pets always feel cared for, even during busy periods. Having free weekends also allows me to dedicate more time to pets, who need consistent attention or engagement. I use this time for exercise, mental stimulation, or grooming, depending on the dogs needs and abilities. My focus on time management ensures that each pet is always prioritized, with plenty of quality time and attention incorporated into their routine. My goal is to provide a calm, nurturing, and healthy environment. I can ensure that pet care will fit seamlessly into my routine, allowing me to meet the needs for every dog I meet! Safety is my top priority, which includes securing the living space to prevent accidents, removing hazardous items, and ensuring pets have access to fresh water and appropriate food for their dietary needs. I carefully monitor their behavior to identify any signs of distress or illness and address them promptly. For outdoor activities, I use secure leashes or harnesses and supervise them, and monitor them while off leash closely. Building trust with pets is essential to providing effective care. I take time to understand their unique personalities, preferences, and routines. By approaching them gently, respecting their boundaries, and offering positive reinforcement, this creates a sense of security and reliability. Whether it’s maintaining consistency in feeding schedules, potty breaks, and spending quality time/playing, I strive to create a comfortable environment for each dog I meet. I can ensure they feel valued and cared for, the environment I provide is clean, stimulating, and adapted to their specific needs. I offer comfortable resting areas, engaging toys, and plenty of space to explore. Ultimately, my approach combines attentiveness, compassion, and professionalism to ensure every pet thrives under my care.

“Africa is amazing! She took the time to get to know My dog maverick and I appreciate her trying to get him out of his shell quick since he is sooo shy. I would recommend her to anyone. She did great without even getting a chance to meet him first so I appreciate her availability as well!”

“Once again Mark really came through for us, extending our booking for my mother-in-law's cat and finally getting to meet her at the end! He took fantastic care of Uno and even cleaned up a bit without us asking him to. We already have a sitting booked for Christmas!”

“Dana came to meet me and my 4 dogs. I went out for an evening and had her stay for a few hours so my dogs could get to know her to prepare for an out of town trip. She was on time, communicated, and followed instructions. I will definitely rebook with her again.”

Valley Center cat parents share their Rover experiences
Josh was a life saver for us! We just moved to California and needed someone we could trust to watch our cat and he was exactly what we were looking for! He was so helpful to us, allowing us to still be able to travel and do what we need to do and know that our cat has a friend to look after them while we are away. So grateful for Josh, he is a must book, you won’t regret it!

Josh was great and I booked last minute since I just moved to the area. I had a bad experience with a previous pet sitter which left me traumatized and Josh understood that and ensured he would take good care of my cats. I appreciate the check ins and pictures and it helps put me at ease when I am away from home. Overall it was a good experience especially being so last minute and despite a few of my cats being very shy he tried to make sure they all were fed and well taken care of.

I have not travelled much recently and am very anxious about leaving my big needy cat Ajax. Anna's excellent care allowed me to relax and savor my wonderful vacation with family on the east coast. I loved getting her check-in reports and photos on check-in and read the mini-chronicles of Ajax aloud to my family every day. Ajax is not generally a cuddlebug and can be very bossy so I was worried that he might give Anna a hard time, especially about not being able to go outside on his leash. To my delight, Anna the pet whisperer cultivated a beautiful relationship with Ajax over the ten days. I came home to a happy cat and pet areas considerably tidier than they are when I'm here:). In short--great communication, great care, and great comfort for this anxious pet owner.
