“Dana is a lifesaver!! I was nervous about leaving my new pup with someone new, but she's been absolutely fantastic!! I can go to work with peace of mind knowing that Tamayo is in great hands!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crystal was AMAZING we were gone all day and she sent so many pictures and good updates about potty breaks and food/water intake! She’s the best highly recommend. She even stayed 20min longer than scheduled to let them play a little longer!”

About: I've had pets my whole life and I love ALL animals. I think it all started when my parents adopted a kitten when I was six and I would dress up the kitty in doll clothes and take her everywhere she was allowed to go! I always considered myself a cat-person, but when my mom brought home a puppy from a coworker many years ago, I took care of him like he was my own and sure enough he became my dog! I currently own one dog, two cats and a leopard gecko and they certainly make life more interesting with their individual personalities. My family has always called me the "animal-lover" because I'm the one who would frequently bring home animals that needed to be re-homed. I could never say no to anyone who asked if I could take in an animal, and if I couldn't keep them, then I would try to find someone else who could. I have much experience walking friend's, relative's, and coworker's dogs when they were on vacation. My most recent experience, for the past few years, has been dog-sitting a coworker's massive-sized Goldendoodle when he leaves town for Thanksgiving and other holidays. I give him food and water, take him out for long walks around his area and provide exercise at the park playing fetch and running around. I also fostered a sweet senior Pomeranian for a lady who was in the hospital a couple years ago and I've walked and dog-sat for many friend's over the years. People always ask me for petcare needs because they know I love animals, they trust me, and I don't have kids so they know I'm usually available. These were all good experiences that enriched my life and helped me know how to handle different pet situations. It makes me feel good knowing that I am helping either a dog get outside to relieve itself and feel the warmth of the sun or spend quality time with a cat while its person is away. I'm currently working part-time on a random schedule so I have plenty of availability to take dogs out for walks, check in on them for potty breaks, and provide stimulation and exercise. I live in a townhouse with a small backyard and a really high fence that is very secure for pets. I have a few different sized kennels to crate dogs who are most comfortable this way. There is plenty of room for pets to stay and pet gates throughout the house when needed to fence off certain areas or separate pets if needed.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of many different breeds for the last 8-10 years. I love dogs and currently have one 8 month old shepherd rescue that I have been (mostly) independently training at home as well as 2 cats- one whom is 6 years that I adopted when she was only 8 weeks and another that was a stray that my husband & I took in. All our animals are very loved and having them be a part of our lives has been our favorite adventure together 🥰 I am working at a school this year & going back around mid August but during this summer I will be available to check in/walk your dogs throughout the week because I know a busy workday can be stressful when you have your pets at home that would love attention & fun. Whatever your scheduling need is, I would love to discuss how I can be that best fit for you & your fur babies! Since I already have my dog to walk 2-3 times a day, I would love to be able to bring your dog along with us! My trailer park has a private park and is along an easy accessible trail so I can definitely bring your dog here or wherever you prefer we go! I am close by San Marcos and have taken my dog to Bradley Park and Discovery Lake so we would love to bring your fur babies along too!

“Veronica was awesome. She sent photos and spent time with them each day which I really, really appreciated. They weren't as needy when I came back as they normally are and when she came back to drop off keys one of them ran right up to her. Thanks again! :).”

About: I am new to Rover but not new to pet or house sitting in general. I have sat dogs and cats while family and friends have gone on extended vacations. I am fully background checked (teacher by trade). I love to go on walks and am great with consistency/expectations if your dog is in a training program. I am a teacher who is off for the summer with no vacation plans! I can dedicate a lot of time to checking on your cat or taking care of your dog. Dogs will have the run of the downstairs and opportunities for backyard play during the day but will be expected to stay crated/in pen at night. Feedings happen on the schedule you provide and dogs will get at least two walks a day. Doggos will be treated like they belong in my house. If interested in drop ins for cat care, I will play with your cat, provide pets and head scritches, check on food and water, and remove litter box waste. It is important to me that your pets feel safe and that their routine isn’t disrupted too much. So a meet and greet for us to both feel comfortable about your pet’s care is a must!
About: I’m a biologist and animal lover with +30 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, temperaments, and needs. I had my first dog at age 7, adopted a reactive dog in my 20s, and currently share my life with an 8 year old dog, so I truly understand how different every animal can be. For the past 3 years, I’ve been pet sitting for friends and family, caring for senior dogs, reactive dogs, and everything in between. Because I work remotely and do this full-time, I’m home most of the day and able to offer consistent attention without leaving your pet alone for long periods of time. I adjust my energy to match each dog, happy to be playful with energetic pups, or slow and gentle with seniors and sensitive dogs. When house sitting, I keep routines as consistent as possible, so pets feel safe and secure. I also have experience caring for cats and small animals. I enjoy using enrichment toys and puzzles with my dog as I have seen how helpful mental enrichment can be for keeping dogs calm and happy, so I’m comfortable using these tools. With my background in biology, I pay close attention to body language and stress signals and always approach pets with patience, care, and respect. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet. If you give me the opportunity, I’ll do my best to make sure your pup feels safe, understood, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have been around dogs my entire life, I’ve had them from puppy through senior and understand the needs and care for all ages. I’m currently mom of 2 amazing pups, I promise I will care for yours just like my own. I’m a SAHM looking for a side job while my kids are in school, doing activities and/or during my free time throughout the week and weekends. Rest assure that your pet is in the best hands, If caring at your place, I will make sure that instructions given are followed and give your pets the attention they need, dogs have the kindest hearts and deserve to be loved and cared.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life—growing up with dogs, cats, and even three horses. Since college, I’ve raised two incredible dogs—a miniature Australian Shepherd and a Border Collie—who both lived to be 15. We currently have a sweet rescue cat named Luna and a little hamster named Ria. I also have a rosy boa named Licorice that is my class pet at school! Our beloved Border Collie, Rika, recently passed, and while we’re not quite ready for a new pup of our own, I’d love to spend time caring for other people’s furry family members. In addition to caring for my own pets, I’ve also looked after the pets of friends and neighbors—including dogs, cats, and horses—while they were away. I have experience with everything from training energetic puppies to caring for senior pets who need medication and a little extra TLC. Walks, playtime, and snuggles were daily routines in our home, and I love helping animals feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their people are away. As a local teacher, I’ve undergone thorough background checks and pride myself on being responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. Caring for animals is second nature to me, and I look forward to giving your pet the same level of love and attention I’ve always given my own. As a teacher, my schedule is very structured, which helps me plan consistent and reliable pet care. During the school year, I’m available for morning visits before 7 a.m. and after 4 p.m. in the afternoons and evenings. If you're nearby, I may also be able to stop by during my lunch or prep period on occasion. I’m fully available on weekends and during regular school breaks—including fall, winter, and spring breaks, as well as summer vacation from mid-June through early August. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I enjoy the balance it brings to my day. Whether it's morning walks, evening feedings, or weekend playtime, I’m committed to making sure your pets feel cared for and loved while you’re away. At this time, I primarily provide care for pets in their own homes, where they’re most comfortable and secure. I’m happy to follow each family’s specific routines and preferences—whether that includes feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering medication, or just offering companionship and snuggles. Every pet is unique, and I’m committed to respecting their needs and your expectations. Before accepting a booking, I do require a meet and greet to ensure it’s a good fit for both you and your pet. It’s important to me that your pet feels safe and that you feel confident in the care I’ll provide while you're away. Under special circumstances, I may be open to bringing a pet into my home. However, since I have a cat and young children, I would need to be sure that it’s a safe and comfortable fit for everyone involved.
About: I am a very high energy person who is able to cater to your pet’s level of activity! Growing up I always had pets (both cats and dogs), and they were integral in shaping how I view responsibility and care-taking as an adult. I have also pet-sat for family and friends many times and I know that each animal’s needs can look very different. Your pet is unique and I will try to care for them exactly as you would- just tell me what to do! At the moment I have full flexibility to work around your schedule as needed! I will be starting a Masters program this fall, which will limit my schedule a little bit, but I am happy to continue working with you to provide your pet with the best possible care. While I currently am not offering my home for boarding, I am happy to follow any and all rules and regulations you have in place for your own home! I know that opening your home to a new person can be anxiety-inducing, and I am committed to making the situation as comfortable as possible for both you and your pets. I would love to chat beforehand to set expectations and discuss how I can help make you and your pets feel safe and comfortable!
“As always Jessica did a great job with my two cats, going above and beyond to make sure they were happy. She really took the time to get to know them and it feels so good as an owner to come home to happy pets. Thank you Jessica!”

About: Hi! I'm Paisley and I'm obsessed with Dogs. I’ve had a dog since I was six years old. I love playing with dogs and would love to play or stay with yours! If you have a long day away planned- I'd love to help! It's a WIN/WIN, you get the help you need and I get my daily dose of puppy love. I am currently in college in San Marcos and I do go to school Monday-Thursday. I am pretty much gone from 11-3, but I can help you before or after those hours. Fri, Sat & Sun I am wide open! I have a dog of my own right now, and she is a two year old mini Goldendoodle. She loves all dogs and wants to play with everyone. We have a doggy door to outside (fully fenced). If at your home, I follow your rules!
“Lauren was great! I booked last minute and was unsure if I was going to be able to find a sitter to meet all expectations. I definitely would recommend her service. Very kind, thorough, and gave my senior dog the attention he needs (medications, feeding, a walk, & love). Thank you Lauren!!!”

Brittney is an amazing cat sitter for my older kitty! She did everything I ask her and more! When ants invaded Cuties dry food she went out and bought more for her!I She also gave Cutie lots of attention with playing and brushing her! I will definitely use her service again.

Kateryna is wonderful! This was my first Rover since moving to San Marcos so I was naturally a little nervous leaving my babies with someone new. She sent photos every day and I was so happy to see she got my shy kitty out playing! She also gave my older kitty his medication twice a day! Definitely 5 stars and would recommend her!

This was my first time using rover, I was nervous and have a lot of anxiety about leaving my cats when I booked my cruise. I could not be happier with the experience with Shelby. She was so kind, compassionate and communicative. I looked forward to her updates/ photos on vacation and gave me so much piece of mind. I truley know my kitties were in the most loving hands and I would recommend her 100% to anyone who wants top notch animal care. Thank you Shelby ❤️

This was the 1st time leaving my kitts for days. Jenny was a perfect fit😅 She met them before pet sitting & was very reassuring to me. My Kitts walked right up to her💛 Jenny is a great communicator & has excellent photography skills! I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again!!!

Emma, is the best, I was nervous, thinking my cat would have several issues with me being gone, but it was quite the opposite. He loved them and I believe he misses her. The updates were awesome. I felt so comfortable on my trip knowing that my Kat Phoenix was in great hands. I could tell by the pictures she sent every day. I will always use this site but especially Emma every time I’m out of town.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
