“I was fortunate that Ellyn was available on short notice to take my dog Gretel on her midday walk while I attended a funeral out of the area. Ellyn is incredibly trustworthy, responsible and super sweet with Gretel. I can tell because when I got home Gretel was well-balanced and the right amount of energy to know she had a really great walk! Highly recommend Ellyn. I will book her again.”

“Kylie took great care of our senior dog Kruger. She was very responsive, trustworthy, professional and provided regular updates while we were out of town. I would book with her again!”

About: Hi I’m Juan and i’m a freshman at the University of San Diego. I’ve been around all kinds of dogs my whole life, from big, strong, energetic Bernese Mountain Dogs to slower, older dogs over the age of 10. I’ve been walking dogs professionally for the past 4 years, starting at age 15. I’m very flexible with scheduling and easy to communicate with. Having just graduated high school, I have a lot of spare time on my hands. I am very flexible and open to many times of the day. Having a car and a license, distance does not make things difficult. I treat every dog with care and love. I focus on adapting to your dogs individual needs, being gentle and friendly, all whilst being cautious and keeping your pup safe.
About: What sets me apart is my calm, attentive approach and my ability to adapt to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and I don’t rush visits—I take the time to truly connect. I’m experienced with puppies, senior pets, and pets who need a little extra reassurance. I follow routines closely, keep communication open, and always put your pet’s safety and comfort first. My goal is to make your time away completely stress-free. I’m currently working remote part time, so excited to spend my time with dogs outdoors. Throughout the week, I plan my schedule around drop-ins and walks so each pet gets consistent, reliable care. I treat every visit as quality time, not just a task, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and seen. Pet care keeps me active, grounded, and genuinely brings joy into my day. In your home, I maintain your pet’s normal routine and environment. I follow your instructions carefully—feeding, walks, medications, crate routines, playtime, potty breaks, and any training cues you use. I keep the home secure, respect your space, and always leave everything clean and in order.
“Grace has been walking my two hyper and (sometimes) reactive dogs on hour long walks 1x per week. She’s been great with them, and they both warmed up to her so quickly! Grace is always prompt with communicating and her schedule timing. We will definitely be continuing to work with Grace and I’d recommend her to others, too. Thank you, Grace!”

“We love Carina! Our mini Aussie shepherd puppy adores walks with her. She is incredibly attentive, sweet and knowledgeable, has a great response time and is awesome about sending thorough updates and lots of lovely photos! It’s super evident that every walk is a fun and enriching experience for our little pup with Carina. We’re big fans 🥰🐾 Highly recommend!!”

“Communicative and on time. Also understanding. BB had a great time and felt safe. I am working on her separation anxiety and it's good that my progress wont be reset because there are trustworthy people like Kelly. Thank you!”

“Lyndsey was great!. Although I didn’t meet her I was grateful she could let Teddy out with her busy schedule She was flexible with walk times, posted pictures of my pup and was communicative on the app which is awesome ! As a fellow nurse I felt safe having her come to our place and walk Teddy - I will def use her again!”

“My dog is always so happy and wiped after these walks! Also they provide amazing pictures to show how much fun was had. They seem to really emphasize having fun with my dog.”

“Julie was GREAT! She is everything you want in a dog walker. She walked and played with my puppy Piper. Julie was very responsive, accommodating and you could tell a true dog lover. She sent several photos where Piper was happy and playing with her toys. I will definitely use Julie again to watch Piper. Thanks Julie!”

About: I started dog walking and pet sitting 5 years ago. Desiring a dog of my own, my private yoga and Pilates clients started saying "watch mine!" and quickly I became booked for dog sitting most weekends and almost all summer. I grew up with horses and three dogs so I am very comfortable around animals of all kinds. A former Division I volleyball player, I'm active and love taking a daily walk or two listening to a podcast, so I might as well bring a dog along! I'm single and do not have children so my schedule is flexible. I do work in person in an office in Cardiff but am able to care for dogs before work, at lunch, and after work. My weekends are free. I do not care for pets in my own home but am happy to care for them in their own homes whether it is coming over for a visit or walk or dogsitting/catsitting and staying the night.
“Barbara did an awesome job walking polar opposite dogs-Chai a 14 year old, slow as molasses, in late stages of Heart Failure, and Penny, a high energy 2 year old. Barbara was attentive to their needs and honored all my requests. I felt instantly at ease upon meeting her and will definitely use Barabara again!”
About: I have a passion for people and animals and have taken care of dogs & cats of all types since I was 10. Neighbors, friends and family have depended on me to exercise, feed, and wash their pets. I also had the pleasure of working alongside K-9 in the military. I am available to take care of your fur babies after 12:00 PM, Monday thru Thursday. My schedule on Friday thru Sunday is wide open. When I'm away from home I like my labradors Nala & Bella to follow their typical routine. Adapting to your furry family members' regular schedule helps build trust and lowers their anxiety. My goal is to provide a safe and happy environment, so you can enjoy stress free time away.
About: I’m a college student with multiple years of experience working with and caring for dogs. I have fostered over 30 dogs in 5 years and can confidently handle any dog for any duration. I have two rescue dogs of my own and I am very confident caring for any breed or age. I am currently working part-time, so communication will be best for easy scheduling! I am flexible to work with schedules that are needed for pet-sitting. I am very organized and equipped to handle any house or animal care needs. I am a responsible house sitter and willing to accommodate any needs.

Rachel has been great with our dogs! She’s reliable, communicative, and always sends photos and updates after her visits, which we really appreciate. Our puppy, Harlow, has a lot of energy, and our older dog, Dixie Mae, has a very different pace, but Rachel does a wonderful job with both of them. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. We’re so happy we found Rachel and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog walker.

Fernanda is on point from the start. We had not had a chance to properly make an introduction and her vibes and professionalism with dogs is immaculate. They got along very well from the beginning, and was most generous to help and assist. I was impressed how she could understand my dog very well from the first time meeting. Highly recommended!

Kimberly is amazing! This is my third time having her take care of my dog and I know that he is in great hands with Kimberly. She is attentive, communicative, extremely trustworthy, and truly cares for animals. She’s also so easygoing and sweet! Highly recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
