About: I have hands-on experience with reactive dogs, having raised and trained two of my own. I know how much patience, consistency, and calm energy it takes to help a nervous or reactive pup feel safe, and I’ve spent countless hours on exposure work and training to do just that. Whether your dog is shy, anxious, or still learning their manners, they’re in understanding hands with me Caring for dogs is part of my daily rhythm. Between my own dog and the time I spend on walks and play, dogs are always in my schedule. I have plenty of flexibility throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and giving your pup the time and attention they deserve I’ll always come to you, where your dog feels safest. I’ll follow whatever routine your pup already knows, and when we’re walking, my phone stays in my pocket so your dog has my full attention. I always keep the leash secure and lock up before I go. If your dog is reactive, you’re in good hands. I’ve had two reactive dogs of my own, so I know how to stay calm, read the signs, and move them away from triggers before things get to be too much. Either way, you’ll get photo updates so you can relax knowing your pup is happy and safe

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and truly love their company. My cat Manny was with me for 18 amazing years, and I’ve also cared for several dogs—including a Cocker Spaniel I raised from a puppy. As he aged, he developed glaucoma and eventually went blind. Supporting him through surgeries and daily care taught me how to provide patient, gentle, and loving support for senior pets and those needing extra attention. I care for dogs right here in Del Mar, just a few blocks from the beach—only four blocks from the Del Mar Dog Park on 9th Street and within walking distance of Del Mar Dog Beach. I offer exclusive, personalized boarding, so your pup will receive my full attention and care. Your furry family member will enjoy snuggles, shady seaside walks, fresh ocean breezes, and—if you approve—delicious home-baked biscuits and treats. I also offer safe, supervised socialization with other dogs at Del Mar Dog Beach or Del Mar Dog Park (9th Street) offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays after 3:30pm. (only if approved by you). Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, or just relax with a calm, caring companion, I’ll treat them like family—and send you plenty of adorable photo updates while you’re away! I work part-time and from home, which gives me the flexibility to fit my day around your pet’s routine. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or beach outings, I treat every pet like my own and make sure they get all the love and attention they deserve. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I understand how important consistency is. I make sure they’re fed on time, have fresh water, have a clean litter box or yard, and most importantly—lots of love and attention. I take a calm and respectful approach to meeting new dogs and cats. I let them come to me on their terms, and whether they want playtime, cuddles, or just someone to quietly share space with, I’m there for them. For dogs, I provide plenty of one-on-one time—walks, play, mental stimulation, and affection—based on their energy level and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of all sizes and ages, including those who may need extra help due to medical or behavioral issues. I always keep safety and cleanliness a top priority and will stay in communication with you throughout the visit so you feel confident and connected while you’re away.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and San Diego-based grad student with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Growing up, my family always had dogs in the house, from rescues, energetic pups, protective breeds, and sweet seniors, so I'm comfortable with just about any temperament or need. Over the years I've dog-sat for friends and family, and I regularly help with my mom's dog walking and sitting business when I'm home. I’d love to give your dog some extra love and attention while you’re busy or away. Whether your pup needs long walks, playtime, or just some company, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes and always make sure to keep owners updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. Can’t wait to meet you and your dog! I'm in a grad program with only a few on-campus classes per week, so my schedule is fairly flexible on both weekdays and weekends. I'm available for midday walks, potty breaks, and overnight stays. Happy to accommodate last-minute requests. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I will always prioritize keeping your dog safe, comfortable, and stress-free whether at my place or yours. If at mine, my neighborhood is quiet, residential, and has plenty of walking paths and green spaces for your pup to enjoy!

About: As a flexible college student looking for summer work, I have a schedule that allows me to dedicate reliable time and attention to the pets I care for. I have 3 years of professional pet sitting experience, caring for pets with a wide range of routines and medical needs. I’ve cared for dogs/cats from just a few months old to senior age, requiring extra patience, monitoring, and specialized care. I’m experienced administering oral medications, eye and ear medications, and topical treatments. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions to make sure pets stay safe, healthy, and comfortable. Along with my professional experience, I’ve also owned and cared for dogs, cats, and horses throughout my life. I genuinely love animals and do my best to care for every pet with the same attention and love I would want for my own pets. Pet care has always been a natural part of my daily life. I’ve owned and cared for a dog, six different cats, a horse, and rodents throughout my life. I’m very used to managing feeding schedules, exercise, grooming, cleaning, playtime, and giving animals consistent attention and care every day. As a college student not taking classes over the summer, I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to prioritize pet care throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible by providing plenty of attention, affection, playtime, and walks. I truly try to care for every pet like they’re my own so they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I’m also very respectful of clients’ homes and leave them as clean, or cleaner, than I found them while carefully following all care instructions.

About: I work from home, which means your dog gets attention all day, not just morning and evening! Since I was a teenager, friends and family have trusted me with their dogs, and that trust has only grown. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and ages - from a 9 year old Shih Tzu to an 85-pound Doberman - and I treat every dog like my own. I live in Del Mar, surrounded by green spaces and parks, so your dog will get 3–4 walks a day in a beautiful area. I live with my husband who is another dog lover! Here’s what you can count on from me: - Frequent photo and text updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing - Strict adherence to your specific instructions and routines - A calm, loving home environment with no other pets I’d love to meet your dog and learn what makes them wag their tail! Feel free to reach out with any questions :) **Lastly, I go by Valentina (middle name) - that’s why you see that name in some of the reviews** Schedule: I work from home in Software Sales with a flexible calendar, so I can easily work around your dog’s existing routine - whether that’s a mid-morning walk, a post-lunch nap, or an afternoon play session. Weekends I’m even more available My home is calm, pet-proofed, and free of other animals. I’m also trained in oral medication administration, so dogs with special health needs are always welcome.

About: I am an animal lover that is passionate about caring for all animals, specifically rescue animals and animals that may require unique behavioral support or have special needs. My own dog is highly reactive, so I have a lot of experience with handling and caring for reactive dogs. I treat and love every animal as my own and am a very responsible and reliable caregiver. I work as a school psychologist, so I typically care for animals more over the summer! Over the summer, I am available throughout the day for walks or drop in services. I am very flexible both week days and weekends, check my calendar to see if I’m available! I do not offer in-home pet care due to the needs of my own pets. However, I am a very responsible and respectful caregiver when entering client homes.

About: I have been fostering and adopting pets with my family since I was 6 years old. This includes mostly dogs/puppies as well as kittens/cats! Our house was constantly a zoo. I am a college student on summer break, so I am free all week every week!! I will be fully dedicated to caring for and entertaining my furry friends. I am able to safely take care of your pets and their health, as well as give them the love they need. My number one priority is making sure they are comfortable! I am very familiar with both cat and dog behaviors and can recognize their discomfort confidently.

About: What sets me apart is real, hands-on experience, not just good intentions. I raised and trained my own dog from 8 weeks old, so I understand puppy behavior, training fundamentals, and how to build trust with a young or nervous dog from day one. I'm comfortable with all sizes, from tiny breeds to big dogs who need extra exercise and structure. I've also pet sat for countless friends since I was a teenager, so I know that every dog has a different personality and routine, and I take the time to learn what makes your pet comfortable rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether your pup needs an experienced hand with training reinforcement, extra patience, or just a loving, attentive presence while you're away, I treat every pet like my own. I currently have a lot of flexibility in my schedule! I'm not tied to a rigid 9-to-5, so I'm able to offer flexible availability throughout the week — including midday visits, walks, and drop-ins that a lot of full-time sitters can't accommodate. Whether it's a regular weekly routine or last-minute coverage, I have the bandwidth to be reliable and consistent, which I know matters most to pet parents. In my home, your pet will have plenty of space to relax and play — I have a dog-friendly 1,200 square foot apartment, and a trail nearby for walks and exercise. My own dog is incredibly social and loves playing with other dogs, so if your pup enjoys company, they'll have a built-in playmate during their stay. I treat every pet like a member of the household — consistent feeding schedules, plenty of attention, and enough space to settle in and feel comfortable rather than confined. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible — same feeding times, same walk schedule, same little habits they're used to. I want pets to feel like nothing has changed just because their owner is away, and I always treat their home with the same respect and care I'd want for my own.

About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was a teenager, and I truly love spending time with animals—it feels like such an honor and a privilege. While I don’t currently have pets of my own due to my travels, caring for other people’s pets helps fill that void until I can adopt a furry friend of my own! I work from home with a flexible schedule. I pet sit and dog walk for friends and family whenever I can because I love it. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s. I always make sure the environment is secure, free of hazards, and suited to the pet’s needs. I follow any specific instructions from the owner, including dietary restrictions, medication schedules, and preferred routines. When walking dogs, I use secure leashes and harnesses, avoiding unsafe areas and extreme weather conditions. In a client’s home, I ensure doors and gates are properly closed, and I respect the pet’s space while providing plenty of attention and care. My goal is to create a stress-free, comfortable experience for both pets and their owners!

About: What sets me apart is my calm, attentive approach and my ability to adapt to each pet’s unique personality and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and I don’t rush visits—I take the time to truly connect. I’m experienced with puppies, senior pets, and pets who need a little extra reassurance. I follow routines closely, keep communication open, and always put your pet’s safety and comfort first. My goal is to make your time away completely stress-free. I’m currently working remote part time, so excited to spend my time with dogs outdoors. Throughout the week, I plan my schedule around drop-ins and walks so each pet gets consistent, reliable care. I treat every visit as quality time, not just a task, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and seen. Pet care keeps me active, grounded, and genuinely brings joy into my day. • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
