My own dog is a blind tripawd — I've been through amputation recovery firsthand, along with multiple other surgery recoveries, daily medication schedules, and eye drop routines. When he started losing his vision, I trained him to navigate the world confidently and learned how to walk him safely even as a blind dog on three legs. That means I'm comfortable with: • Post-surgery and mobility recovery (amputee/tripawd care, braces, restricted activity) • Daily medications (pills and liquid), eye drops, and other at-home medical routines — including administering meds for other people's dogs, not just my own • Vision-impaired dogs and adaptive walking/navigation cues • Cats with medical or behavioral needs (see Cat Care section below) I also have experience with leash reactivity and dog-to-dog reactivity, and anxious or fearful dogs — I've worked closely with a veterinary behaviorist and excellent trainers over the years, putting in the real, patient work to rehabilitate a traumatized rescue.
