About: I can understand the sometimes uneasy feeling of leaving your four legged family member with someone else. That’s where I come in! I will be your pet’s new best friend and take care of them with the love and care that I would for my own - making sure runners don’t escape, that your daschund is picked up mindfully of their back, your maltipoo’s coat is maintained, your anxious dog is approached with gentleness and patience. No pet care is one-size-fits all and I will customize your pet’s experience to their individualized needs and desires. I have over 10 years of experience with dog sitting both large and small dogs. Behavioral correction is the priority and I may be a small person, but if your dog pulls, I can lift 145+ lbs. I have experience from training puppies all the way up to senior dog care. I can care for senior dogs and accommodate to any mobility issues as well! I care for the safety and emotional wellbeing of all animals and provide compassionate care. I’m excited to meet my new friend! Let me know if there any questions or concerns I can address and we can work on a game plan for your little one. Depending on the day I may be available throughout the morning/afternoon/evening. Generally house sitting is available every day. Weekend availability varies but I can be accommodating based on scheduling requirements. I offer care in the client’s home only as of right now, and can provide excursions for extra enrichment as needed. I can help with exercising active dogs in an effective manner this way.

About: I grew up around dogs and caring for them comes naturally to me. My partner and I share a comfortable home with a fenced backyard and our own friendly, dog-social husky, who makes a wonderful companion for visiting dogs. Having a husky, I’m especially comfortable with high-energy breeds and know how to keep active dogs exercised, engaged, and happy. Because there are two of is and we’re flexible during the day, your down is rarely left alone. There’s almost always someone home for feeding, play, and cuddles. I come from a hospitality and food-service background, so attentive care, cleanliness, and clear communication are things I take seriously. I’ll send plenty of photo updates so you can relax knowing your dog is safe and having fun. I treat every dog like a member of the family, and I’d love to do the same for yours! My partner and I both have flexible daytime schedules, so there’s almost always someone to feed, walk, and play with your dog. We can accommodate your dog’s normal routine, whether that means early morning walks, midday play, or evening cuddles. We plan our own schedules around our boarding guests, so your dog gets consistent attention and is rarely left alone during their stay. Our home has a securely fenced backyard where dogs can play and burn energy safely, and our friendly husky makes a great companion for social guests. We keep the space clean and dog-proofed, with fresh water always available and secure fencing so no one slips out. We’re comfortable crating if that’s part of your dog’s routine, and we’re happy to follow your feeding, medication, and exercise instructions closely. Dogs are never left unattended in the yard, and we send regular photo updates so you always know your pup is safe and content.

About: Ive been around dogs my whole life and love being active with them. I’ve helped take care of family pets as well as neighbors’ dogs—walking, feeding, and giving them the attention they need. I’ll treat your pets like my own and make sure they always feel safe and cared for. I’m responsible, trustworthy, and respectful of your home. About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was a teenager, and I truly love spending time with animals—it feels like such an honor and a privilege. While I don’t currently have pets of my own due to my travels, caring for other people’s pets helps fill that void until I can adopt a furry friend of my own! I live in Del Mar off Stratford and work from home with a flexible schedule. I pet sit and dog walk for friends and family whenever I can because I genuinely love spending time with animals. I try to stay in the area for convenience, and my rates are negotiable if you really need a hand! Please note I’ve recently raised my listed rates a bit because the platform takes roughly 27–30% in fees, so what you see isn’t what I actually take home. I want to keep my rates fair and reasonable while also making sure the time and care I provide are sustainable for me. I’m always happy to talk about pricing, especially for neighbors, repeat clients, longer stays, or situations where someone just needs a little extra help. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s. I always make sure the environment is secure, free of hazards, and suited to the pet’s needs. I follow any specific instructions from the owner, including dietary restrictions, medication schedules, and preferred routines. When walking dogs, I use secure leashes and harnesses, avoiding unsafe areas and extreme weather conditions. In a client’s home, I ensure doors and gates are properly closed, and I respect the pet’s space while providing plenty of attention and care. My goal is to create a stress-free, comfortable experience for both pets and their owners!

About: Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile, here’s a little about me. My family has had at least 1 dog and 1 cat in the house since I was 8 years old. My family currently has 2 dogs (yellow lab and black wire-haired dachshund), and 1 cat (Siberian). I used to be an equestrian, have watched many different animals (including guinea pigs), I’ve volunteered at dogs shelters, and recently cared for a 2 month old puppy. As you can expect, I am very comfortable with animals and attuned to their unpredictability and unique needs (potty training and feeding schedules, gentle socializing, chew-proofing the house, reading their moods and managing the energy of multiple animals at once. I’m a very sensitive person, so being around cats and dogs especially brings me joy and peace! They definitely sense that because whenever I visit my parents all my pets follow me around like tails! If I didn’t travel often, I would get a pet of my own. On a more personal note, I love being outdoors and finding any green space possible (especially in NYC), so your dogs will enjoy walks with me! I’m very attentive to garbage eating/smelling/stepping on walks, especially in NYC, so your dog will be safe with me! I’m currently working part-time with a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to watch your pet! I am based on Long Island but can easily come into the city for longer care. I’m in the New York area until July 15 and in NYC between 2-8 July, if you need someone to watch your dog over the 4th July weekend while you’re away! If boarding on Long Island, we have an unfenced yard and beach access, perfect if your dog likes swimming. Bonus is my 2 family dogs, so yours won’t be lonely!

About: I have hands-on experience with reactive dogs, having raised and trained two of my own. I know how much patience, consistency, and calm energy it takes to help a nervous or reactive pup feel safe, and I’ve spent countless hours on exposure work and training to do just that. Whether your dog is shy, anxious, or still learning their manners, they’re in understanding hands with me Caring for dogs is part of my daily rhythm. Between my own dog and the time I spend on walks and play, dogs are always in my schedule. I have plenty of flexibility throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and giving your pup the time and attention they deserve I’ll always come to you, where your dog feels safest. I’ll follow whatever routine your pup already knows, and when we’re walking, my phone stays in my pocket so your dog has my full attention. I always keep the leash secure and lock up before I go. If your dog is reactive, you’re in good hands. I’ve had two reactive dogs of my own, so I know how to stay calm, read the signs, and move them away from triggers before things get to be too much. Either way, you’ll get photo updates so you can relax knowing your pup is happy and safe

About: Hello! My name is Cecelia and I am so excited to get to know you and your pet! Growing up, I have always had a dog in my house and all of my extended family members have pets as well. I love going to parks and finding exciting and fun places. I love taking walks and am able to handle any sized pet. I have my own transportation so errands are not a problem. When not at work, my schedule is very flexible and I am a very easy going person. I work in biotech M-F and have weekends off. I will always send pics of your fur baby and as many updates as you’d like! I have a mini goldendoodle (30lbs) named Ollie who is such a love bug and gets along with any sized dog. Cant wait to meet your fur baby :) M-F I work in office for about 9 hours a day and am home no later than 4pm most days. When home, I love to take my dog on walks around the neighborhood or take him to a park. On the weekends, I bring my dog to get coffee with me and we take a walk on the beach. I love being as active as I can with my dog and would love for your pet to join us! I provide a safe, calm, and enriching environment with plenty of exercise, attention, and supervision. I live in a dog-friendly condo community directly across from a park, so dogs enjoy regular walks, potty breaks, and outdoor time throughout the day. We also take neighborhood walks on the many nearby sidewalks, and sometimes stroll through One Paseo for new sights and smells (with owner approval). On weekends, I’m typically home, so pets receive lots of companionship and aren’t left alone for long periods. When I do run errands, I often bring dogs along if we’re visiting pet-friendly places. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, loved, and cared for while keeping their routine as close to home as possible.

About: I work from home, which means your dog gets attention all day, not just morning and evening! Since I was a teenager, friends and family have trusted me with their dogs, and that trust has only grown. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and ages - from a 9 year old Shih Tzu to an 85-pound Doberman - and I treat every dog like my own. I live in Del Mar, surrounded by green spaces and parks, so your dog will get 3–4 walks a day in a beautiful area. I live with my husband who is another dog lover! Here’s what you can count on from me: - Frequent photo and text updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing - Strict adherence to your specific instructions and routines - A calm, loving home environment with no other pets I’d love to meet your dog and learn what makes them wag their tail! Feel free to reach out with any questions :) **Lastly, I go by Valentina (middle name) - that’s why you see that name in some of the reviews** Schedule: I work from home in Software Sales with a flexible calendar, so I can easily work around your dog’s existing routine - whether that’s a mid-morning walk, a post-lunch nap, or an afternoon play session. Weekends I’m even more available My home is calm, pet-proofed, and free of other animals. I’m also trained in oral medication administration, so dogs with special health needs are always welcome.

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
