About: I had my first pet at 9, it was a cat that I loved deeply. Since then I have always had at least 2 animals in my care. I take care of my dads three dogs and two parakeets when he goes out of town. I also watched a variety of pets for neighbors all the time growing up. I have been in charge of feeding schedules, medicine administration, and more. Every day is a little different but every animal gets the attention the require plus a little more regardless of what I’m doing that day. I use pet safe scents in diffusers such as lemongrass for the cats. I also keep all chemicals away and only clean the room the animals are in with a vinegar solution.

The outside enclosure is small but completely safe. Laminate floors make it an easy clean up if there are any mishaps. I am a retired nurse who creates art at home. Therefore I can attend to your pet with ease. As mentioned above, our patio and outside area is small but safe with six foot fencing . Our dogs have easy access with a medium size screen pet door. If you pet is larger I will be home to let him/her out on a regular basis. Pet care suits my lifestyle as I am a homebody who loves to just hang with my pups while creating art. Living the retired life! My small but fenced secure patio with dog run makes for a safe environment. A walk about or two a day keeps them happy as well!

About: I’ve taken care and raised many dogs throughout my life, recused older dogs, take in strays, and adopted puppies and kittens. I’m very comfortable around animals and I’ve never met a dog that doesn’t like me. For younger dogs that need more attention I can be there for them, and older dogs who have dietary restrictions I’m keen on that process as well. I’m working Full-time as a surgical assistant but most days I’m off very early so I can be available by 3-3:30 in the evening. I’m free most/all weekends to walk your dog for an hour or so. I’m totally down to stay in home and take care of dogs if that’s needed as well! For most of my life now I have had two jobs. With that, taking care of a dog can become difficult but it’s totally worth it coming home to them and they are so excited to see you. Previously would take my dog out early morning, sometimes on my lunch break, and usually twice in the evening. I make his dog food super extra and add sweet potatoes, egg, a bit of olive oil, and plain yogurt for his coat. My dog is very toy driven so I always have lots of toys for him around. If I’m given clear instruction on your dogs care I’ll make sure he spoiled :)

I’ve grown up caring for family dogs for several years, so I’m very familiar with daily walks, playtime, and making dogs feel safe and loved. I’m reliable, patient, and treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, routine, and comfort level so they feel secure, happy, and excited for our time together. I’m also very communicative and will always keep you updated with photos and notes so you feel confident your pup is in great hands. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I currently work remotely and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to step away during the day for walks and give pets my full attention when I’m with them. I’m most available for walks in the late mornings through early afternoons, which is perfect for getting pups out for some fresh air, exercise, and a break during the day. My goal is to make every walk a safe, positive, and enjoyable part of your dog’s day. I follow your dog’s usual walking routine, from their preferred pace to familiar routes they love. During walks, I prioritize safety, secure leash handling, and staying aware of our surroundings. After each walk, I ensure your dog has water, is comfortable, and settled before I leave. I’ll also share updates and a quick recap so you always know how the walk went.

About: My dog Gaia was my best friend for 15 years! I then rescued a puppy, named Pisco, who is my adventure companion and he means the world to me. I will treat your fur-buddies with so much care and love! I am available to check in on your fur-babies at any time on the day! I have full availability and will be happy to take your pups on some nice long walks for good exercise. I take my dog on long enjoyable walks, making sure he gets enough exercise to be resting when I am not at home. I always provide fresh water and feed him twice a day (morning/evening). I play in the home and offer lots of scratches for a happy puppy!

For cats I make sure windows are closed and secure before opening any doors inside the home. I always confirm feeding instructions, medication schedules, and emergency vet information before a booking begins - ideally at the meet & greet. If anything seems off with your pet's health or behavior during a visit, I contact you immediately rather than waiting. Your house key and access information are kept secure and never shared with anyone.

“Tara and her family were great with my dog, Lady. We were in a bind and made reservations with Tara with very short notice. Tara and her family were very accomodating and were very excited to spend time with my dog. We made arrangements for me to drop off Lady at her home, and I was very nervous since I had never used DogVacay before. When we got to the house, Tara met us outside and gave Lady a chance to get comfortable with her. Slowly she brought Lady into the house and Tara's two youngest kids were there to greet Lady. They were so excited to have her there. Tara sent me pictures of Lady on walks, but the ones I enjoyed the most were the pictures Tara sent me with Lady being loved on by her children. Those pictures really put me at ease knowing that Lady was being loved. Tara also sent little messages with the pictures just to let me know how Lady was doing. I would definitely send Lady to Tara next time we need to go out of town. Thank you Tara and family!”
