I love your pet as much as you do
I love and respect your pet(s) as much as you do. I am eager to help them be happy, safe and cared for while you're away. I view myself as a trusted retainer, here to make your absence less stressful for your pet(s). I am trustworthy, and will follow your instructions in caring for your pets. I'm kind and animals seem to be drawn to me - we become instant friends! Although at this time I am limited to caring for smaller dogs in my home, I've owned Great Danes, a German Shorthair Pointer, an English Springer, and loved them all. Even the neighbors' pit bull mix and foxhound were my dear friends. I adopted a female Shih Tzu mix, Harlee, who was born in August 2019. She is playful but gentle and submissive. My roommate has a Maltipoo, about 18 month-old female, who is active enough for 2 dogs! I am retired so my time is flexible for the benefit of your pet(s). Why I love pet sitting I've had a dog off and on my whole life, and cats as an adult. My first job was at a pet hotel as an assistant groomer. The saying really is true: Pets might not be my whole life, but they do make my life whole. I've had experience administering medication. I've given injections as well as oral meds.

Carie took really great care of Wee. She has a fenced yard with grass which is really lovely. I like that she has her own little pup and also does doggy day care so Wee can socialize a little more. Carie was really flexible with my pick up schedule (my flight was incredibly delayed) and she made my life easier by being so amenable. Carie is a great sitter and I will certainly be back!

Schedule
I’m retired so can adjust my daily schedule to fit the needs of my clients. We can play in the yard but usually the family dogs provide enough exercise.

My yard is fenced and secure. I don’t allow guests to bring their favorite toys as they become reason for disputes! They are welcome to bring their own blankets of course. I occasionally have several dogs - meals are enjoyed separately by each.

A typical day
Time I'll spend with your dog For first-time customers I'd want to spend all day with the dog(s), so that we get to know one another. I think that would help them be settled and easy with me around. For repeat visits time with the dog(s) might be reduced but this is something I'd discuss with each owner and on each sitting. Extra house-sitting services Of course - additional tasks would be welcome.

- I gravitate toward the larger breeds but have no real preference. Before sitting a dog I'd like to know their fears or anxiety triggers (other than their parents being away!)? Has their current family raised them from a pup or are they a rescue? Are they sensitive around their ears? nose? scruff of neck? Are they allowed on the furniture (which specifically)? What is their favorite treat?
