Danielle and Austin were GREAT! This was our first sitting with them for Jamo and he felt so comfortable already. It’s been awhile for outside sitting for our little guy because my dad usually watches him. But dad lives out a little farther so it was nice to find Danielle and Austin so close to us. They provided pic updates on Jamo’s day with the other dogs. Jamo was happy camper when we picked him up. You can tell he was given a lot of love from this very nice family. We’ll be back! Thanks again guys!

Sara was great; Everything was handled professionally and with care - a plus that she had her own dog to play with mine, which was important to me when booking; She even left mine with a toy to go - needless to say, my pup left happy with Sara’s care.

Sarah is amazing and has an excellent knowledge of animal behavior which makes her especially good with my puppy as she is learning how to be a well behaved dog and these early months are so important for her to learn to be the best dog she can be. I love that Clairee has supervised play with Sarah’s other dogs as socializing is so important. I can’t express enough how happy I am to have found Sarah. It’s like striking gold. My Clairee comes home very happy and content. Sarah sends me updates throughout the day with pictures and notes of how the day is going and I get a report of her elimination and intake. I highly recommend Sarah, she is superb!!

About: I have had a dog in my life from the age of 7. Currently I have two dogs who are gentle and used to other dogs. The neighborhood is gated and quiet for daily dog walks. The outside enclosure is small but completely safe. Laminate floors make it an easy clean up if there are any mishaps. I am a retired nurse who creates art at home. Therefore I can attend to your pet with ease. As mentioned above, our patio and outside area is small but safe with six foot fencing . Our dogs have easy access with a medium size screen pet door. If you pet is larger I will be home to let him/her out on a regular basis. Pet care suits my lifestyle as I am a homebody who loves to just hang with my pups while creating art. Living the retired life! My small but fenced secure patio with dog run makes for a safe environment. A walk about or two a day keeps them happy as well!

I also often dog sit two adult German Shepherds (+60 lbs each) - I love all pets and look forward to watching your pets. I’ve always had a knack with pets loving me too! I have an extremely flexible and can prioritize your needs in my schedule. I enjoy having the pups close, in my office during work and train them to be ready for "breaks," i.e. walks, and treats. I also like to give the dogs a job to do to make them feel special. I have a fenced yard which is small, but just right for dogs. I have several raised dog beds and umbrellas, so pets can sun bathe or enjoy the shade.

I currently work from home and intentionally build in time each day to take my loveable Irishdoodle for his mid-day walks, as well as ensure he has his feeding and potty breaks on time! I am a homebody and most nights I am home, given small amounts of time to run errands or take my son to practice. Luca (my Irishdoodle), and I take daily walks together and have weekly visits to the dog park so he can run and play with others. Luca is allowed on furniture and beds, and so are his friends. He gets lots of play and belly rubs, and any furry visitor will be showered with the same love and attention!

About: **BASE ACCESS** and ranked Star Sitter ⭐️ Proud dog mom of two-- Elsie (boxer/husky, a tripod!, 13), Carlie (Golden/German, 8). I recently moved back to Oceanside, but have walked/petsat all of the furry/feathered friends full-time on Rover for a year in Colorado! You can find more client testimonials or cute pictures on IG under my business name: LittleChaosPetCo 😺 You can expect that your pet will come back from any visit with me safe, happy, and probably....very spoiled. So here's to the next chaotic adventure! 🤙🏼🌊 I do Rover full-time! I am available for housesitting, drop-in visits, and walks; please feel free to reach out, even if it's same-day. AND -- now offering boarding + day care! I have a big yard with a separate pen, so everyone's safe and happy at all times :) PLEASE NOTE: If you'd like to do a meet and greet and you're selecting "drop-in"'s, please select an additional drop-in for the meet and greet. If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out and we can work something out :) So here's the thing. That older tripod boxer I have? She taught me every. single. lesson. a person needs to know to keep their dog safe. I am constantly scanning for other dogs, prey, physical obstacles etc. during walks and play time. I practice safe introductions whether or not your animal is familiar with the other animal we may encounter (neighbor, etc) because I'm also aware that their behavior might change from how they behave with their parent vs me! I think it's important your animal sees no change in their environment as far as trust/safety--their routine should stay exactly the same, if not with the addition of some more adventures!

About: Hi everyone! My name is Maida and I have had pets since a young age and have experience with dog training. I absolutely love all animals and will truly cherish any opportunity to take care of your baby. I have two little kids (2- and 4-year-old girl and boy) and one senior dog (13-year-old husky). We would assess how your baby would do with the kiddos and my dog for overnight boarding. For daycare or potty breaks, this should not be an issue as the kids are in school during the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days. I live in Oceanside in the Arrwood community and have a fully fenced-in yard and beautiful sidewalks and trails near me for adventures. My dog (Bandit) gets along with most dogs, gets along great with cats, and the kids love cats and dogs too. If this sounds good to you, I'd love an opportunity to meet your baby and see how I can be helpful to your family. I work from home so basically your baby would be my sidekick. We have a fenced in yard which they would have access to as long as you are okay with that. We can start the day with a walk and then hang out together -- if I go anywhere they can tag along with me or would be safe inside my home. I have a crate if needed, a fully fenced in backyard and because I work from home they would be under my supervision all day. If I have to step out they would either join me, I would crate them, or leave them to roam free in the home depending on what your preference is and what's best for the pet.

About: We both work from home full time, which means your dog will be supervised and cared for without being left alone for long hours. My pets are our children and we treat guest dogs with the same level of love, care, and “are you comfortable, do you need anything, do you want a snack” energy. We lost our beloved dog-ter in May, and while we’d love to adopt, I’m not ready. We really miss having a dog in our home so watching yours will gladly fill that void. I’m experienced with senior dogs and those with medical needs, with the note that my home does have stairs and tile floors. My home is best suited for smaller cat-friendly dogs, whether they’re zoomie-powered chaos goblins or professional couch potatoes. I can handle both ends of the spectrum. I can help reinforce good manners but because I do have cats, I can’t accommodate dogs with toy resource guarding. The boys love to carry off dog toys which wouldn’t be fair for a visiting dog that has a level of resource guarding. Potty trained pups are a must unless you have a clear, established protocol for incontinence. If your dog enjoys being loved, supervised, and treated like the main character, we’ll get along just fine. I work full time from home, which allows pets to be fully integrated into my daily routine rather than left alone for long stretches. I work East Coast hours, so mornings start early with an early potty break in the yard and meal time followed by an afternoon neighborhood walk (typically 0.5–1 mile). Throughout the day, dogs receive regular attention, supervision alongside scheduled potty breaks in the morning, mid afternoon, afternoon, and evening. We take another potty break before bed to ensure comfort overnight (I mean don’t go to bed without going potty?!). Because I am home all day, it’s easy to adjust for senior needs, medications, rest breaks, or higher energy dogs who need more frequent activity. Pet care is part of my normal day, not something squeezed in before or after work, which allows for consistent routines and attentive care. I have a fully fenced yard, but dogs are never left outside unattended. Potty breaks typically happen in the backyard, or the front yard if leashed if grabbing the mail or doing a quick walk around the block. I have two dog friendly cats, and pets share common areas together. My home is two levels with tile flooring. There is no permanent dog gate, but I can absolutely use one if a dog has difficulty with stairs or if limiting access is safer while unattended. Sleeping arrangements are flexible and based on your dog’s routine. Dogs may sleep crated, in my bed, or in their preferred spot provided they are reliably potty trained. Dogs who are still working on overnight accidents will need to sleep in a crate for everyone’s comfort and safety. My goal is to maintain your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in San Luis Rey on Rover is $37.74 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,716 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across San Luis Rey. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Luis Rey commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,716 sitters in San Luis Rey, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
