“Mal has had a confusing time because his alpha, my husband, died unexpectedly last week, and he's had to move house on top of it. He is a rescue and already had separation anxiety. But he had a great time with Sandra, playing with other dogs, with plenty of room to run around, and was he was happy and not insecure when I picked him up both days. Thank you Sandra! Thank you for loving animals!”

“I love Sara’s day care!My 2 pups ( both Great Danes, 2 yo & 9 month old) were enjoying it very much. Sarah kept sending me updates and pictures, and even thd detailed report at the end of the day! I was worried first, because I never left my two little horses before at the daycare, but it went so smoothly with Sara’s help! My pups love it there, so do I :)) Next time I need someone to watch my fur babies , I know where to go!!”

“Sara was great; Everything was handled professionally and with care - a plus that she had her own dog to play with mine, which was important to me when booking; She even left mine with a toy to go - needless to say, my pup left happy with Sara’s care.”

“Nadia was so easy to schedule with. I really appreciated her prompt communication and how sweet she was with Lucy. Lucy had a great day with Nadia and we look forward to working with her again.”

About: Used to sit 15+ dogs at once for full days. Always got great reviews and love from the owners and pets. A great choice for you and your pup. Lost one of my pups unexpectedly this year and could use the extra work and puppy love 🫶🏻 (Also a professional photographer! Hire me to get a free photoshoot!) 📸🐶 I’m currently freelancing photography and it’s the slow season, so I have lots of time for your pets! They will be loved as if they are my own. Please don’t hesitate to reach out! I also usually end up taking high-quality, professional photos of the pets that I watch as a free bonus! Very quick learner, respectful and responsible. Will treat your home with care and respect and make sure it is in better condition than when I arrived. And of course your dog will have the time of their life!
“Alicia and Christian were great with Rocco. You could tell he had a nice time. They were amazing at accommodating a relatively last minute booking request so super grateful. They were awesome! 🤍”

“Natalie was absolutely amazing with Luna! The time and attention she took to get to know Luna before she took care of and her, and her responsiveness while communicating before after after I booked- I really appreciate it all!”

“Carmine had a great time at Lauren’s playing with Josie! We had been unsure how he’d interact with her cats so after a meet and great everyone seemed comfortable and worked out great! Excited to have a new friend for Carmine.”

“I don't think I've ever seen my dog so calm and happy before, after being at a doggy daycare! He obviously got all the exercise he needed. And all the play with other dogs. And all the dog company. And all the human company and attention he could want : ) Thank you so so much Becca!”

About: My name is Bria and I’m 28. I've owned poodles, Irish Wolf Hounds, Westies, & full Scottish terriers. I am a huge advocate not only for walking which is great exercise, but for the well being of your dog. I established myself in California 7 years ago and it’s been a wonderful journey. Dog sitting and walking is something I've had quite a bit of experience with. Contact me if you have any questions, concerns, or things you think I should be made aware of concerning your pet. I am here to enjoy helping the community, as we all help one another through everyday things. The world is a beautiful place! Right now I am pretty much available all the time. I’m pregnant at the moment and am at that stage where any work I do is work I can fully focus on! I always am on top of thing and making sure everything at your house or mine is in order. Your pets health and care is obviously something I prioritize, and keeping them safe is a must.
About: Hi everyone! My name is Maida and I have had pets since a young age and have experience with dog training. I absolutely love all animals and will truly cherish any opportunity to take care of your baby. I have two little kids (2- and 4-year-old girl and boy) and one senior dog (13-year-old husky). We would assess how your baby would do with the kiddos and my dog for overnight boarding. For daycare or potty breaks, this should not be an issue as the kids are in school during the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days. I live in Oceanside in the Arrwood community and have a fully fenced-in yard and beautiful sidewalks and trails near me for adventures. My dog (Bandit) gets along with most dogs, gets along great with cats, and the kids love cats and dogs too. If this sounds good to you, I'd love an opportunity to meet your baby and see how I can be helpful to your family. I work from home so basically your baby would be my sidekick. We have a fenced in yard which they would have access to as long as you are okay with that. We can start the day with a walk and then hang out together -- if I go anywhere they can tag along with me or would be safe inside my home. I have a crate if needed, a fully fenced in backyard and because I work from home they would be under my supervision all day. If I have to step out they would either join me, I would crate them, or leave them to roam free in the home depending on what your preference is and what's best for the pet.

About: I have experience caring for any kind of dogs and cats. I foster shelter dogs, raised and trained my Labrador Ace from a puppy and owned a senior rescue dog. I know how to care for puppies, teenager and elderly dogs, as well as kittens and cats. I'm particularly good with shy cats and getting them out of their shell, but enjoy an active, playful cat like mine just as much. Our home has a front and back yard, both fenced and a living area plus an attached sunroom. I can separate pets if needed. I have a cat room, only cats can get in, dogs have to stay outside. My cat usually roams the whole house. Can separate if needed. I also have the ability to take active dogs on walks or runs as I am an active person and runner. I am currently staying at home, so I have a very flexible schedule. I am available on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, making it easy to accommodate any pets needs . I have plenty of space for pets, including a front and back yard, both fenced, and a living area with an attached sunroom. I also have a large crate available if needed. One of the bedrooms is reserved as a no dog zone for cats.
“Chong was fantastic! Super responsive and acccomodating for my day-of dog watch inquiry for Ari after another sitter cancelled. She sent photos and updates throughout my 5 hour watch. Would definitely do it again with her!”

“Michele was amazing! We needed a very flexible rover for day care services throughout our wedding weekend and she made everything so easy for us. She was a great communicator, provided us with updates and was so sweet to our pup!”

“Pili was wonderful and Finn had so much fun on his stay over at her place. He came back a very tired pup from running around her yard (his favorite thing) and having a great time! Thank you, Pili!”

“Nazgul and her family were exceptionally warm and attentive with Midnight. From the moment we arrived, I could tell she would settle in quickly and feel at home. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
