“Eman & Robby have been excellent with my puppy. I get constant updates, pictures & videos throughout the day, & my dog is always smiling in the pictures! 100% recommend”

“Mal has had a confusing time because his alpha, my husband, died unexpectedly last week, and he's had to move house on top of it. He is a rescue and already had separation anxiety. But he had a great time with Sandra, playing with other dogs, with plenty of room to run around, and was he was happy and not insecure when I picked him up both days. Thank you Sandra! Thank you for loving animals!”

“Alicia and Christian were great with Rocco. You could tell he had a nice time. They were amazing at accommodating a relatively last minute booking request so super grateful. They were awesome! 🤍”

“Nadia was very helpful watching our two dogs. Great updates and pictures and you can tell she loves dogs. We've already dropped them off twice and I'm sure they'll get to hang out with Auntie Nadia again soon!”
“Sarah was amazing with our puppy, Koda! This was the first time we’ve ever used a dog sitter, so we were definitely a little nervous, but she immediately put us at ease with her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs. She communicated throughout the entire day and sent tons of photos, which made us feel so much better while we were away at Disneyland. We also ran into horrible traffic on the way back, and our pickup time ended up being nearly an hour later than expected. Sarah was incredibly accommodating, understanding, and flexible despite the inconvenience. It was clear Koda had a great time with her—he even fell asleep in the car on the way home! We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience and will absolutely be reaching out to Sarah again for future sitting needs. Highly recommend!”

“Nazgul and her family were exceptionally warm and attentive with Midnight. From the moment we arrived, I could tell she would settle in quickly and feel at home. Their updates and photos were thoughtful and reassuring, and it was clear she was genuinely cared for. I highly recommend Nazgul and her family to anyone seeking a safe, loving environment for their pet.”

“I don't think I've ever seen my dog so calm and happy before, after being at a doggy daycare! He obviously got all the exercise he needed. And all the play with other dogs. And all the dog company. And all the human company and attention he could want : ) Thank you so so much Becca!”

“I’m so thankful Lori was able to accommodate a last minute daycare request. We had something else set up that fell through, and we found a GEM of a sitter/daycare location!! I got frequent updates and pics, which showed me how comfortable my pup was in Lori’s home. He had a great time playing with her dogs and the others at daycare, and she was gracious to give him some yummy treats, which he LOVED! 🍉 Maverick had such a good time he literally didn’t want to come home with me when I picked him up - soooo funny! I will def book Lori again, knowing how much she loved hosting Mav and constantly how much he loved being there ❤️”

“Shannon to the rescue and always takes good care of Sandy!! Would highly recommend Shannon for all your pet sitting needs. She’s caring and responds right away to any questions you may have.”

“Natalie is amazing! My dog, Lulu, absolutely adores her and loves going to her house for daycare. I pay close attention to Lulu’s reactions to environments, and she communicates in her own way when she’s comfortable or not. In the past, I had to stop taking Lulu to a specific daycare because she would shake with fear/anxiety at drop-off, whine, and try to drag me back toward the entrance to leave. When I pull up to Natalie’s home at drop-off, Lulu whines to get out of the car and practically drags me to door to get daycare started. She greets Natalie so enthusiastically and with so much excitement. That’s the only review I really need. Lulu visits for daycare twice a week now. I appreciate that Natalie gives me regular updates throughout the daycare stay and includes several pictures. After each daycare visit, Natalie provides a handwritten note summarizing Lulu’s day. Lastly, she’s simply a very warm and nice person. I’m glad we found her!”

About: Hi everyone! My name is Maida and I have had pets since a young age and have experience with dog training. I absolutely love all animals and will truly cherish any opportunity to take care of your baby. I have two little kids (2- and 4-year-old girl and boy) and one senior dog (13-year-old husky). We would assess how your baby would do with the kiddos and my dog for overnight boarding. For daycare or potty breaks, this should not be an issue as the kids are in school during the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. most days. I live in Oceanside in the Arrwood community and have a fully fenced-in yard and beautiful sidewalks and trails near me for adventures. My dog (Bandit) gets along with most dogs, gets along great with cats, and the kids love cats and dogs too. If this sounds good to you, I'd love an opportunity to meet your baby and see how I can be helpful to your family. I work from home so basically your baby would be my sidekick. We have a fenced in yard which they would have access to as long as you are okay with that. We can start the day with a walk and then hang out together -- if I go anywhere they can tag along with me or would be safe inside my home. I have a crate if needed, a fully fenced in backyard and because I work from home they would be under my supervision all day. If I have to step out they would either join me, I would crate them, or leave them to roam free in the home depending on what your preference is and what's best for the pet.
“🐾 Five paws up for Ms. Chong! 🐾 Hi, it’s Lucky 🐶 (with Mom typing). I absolutely love staying with Ms. Chong! She’s kind, patient, and makes me feel right at home. Mom especially appreciates how flexible Ms. Chong is with her ever-changing schedule — that means the world to us. I’m always happy, well cared for, and loved when I’m with her. We’re so grateful to have found her and can’t recommend her enough! 💙🐾”

“Dana has an immediately obvious love of dogs. It was our first day care visit and I left with no concerns. Picked up our little Minnie who was happy and groomed up. So excited to have someone like Dana to leave my dog with when needed. Thanks Dana!”

“Michele was amazing! We needed a very flexible rover for day care services throughout our wedding weekend and she made everything so easy for us. She was a great communicator, provided us with updates and was so sweet to our pup!”

About: As a USMC veteran and lifelong dog owner, I know what it means to be there for your buddy. I'll bring that same commitment to caring for yours. I work from home full-time, which means your dog will have plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. 🐾 I have over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs. Additionally, through my volunteer rescue work as a dog adoption coach and dog handler, I've gained experience working with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. 🐾 My wife, Ellen, is a former Humane Law Enforcement Officer and lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. Together, we share a passion for animal welfare. 🐾 We currently share our home with two rescue dogs and three indoor cats. We know that every pet has different needs, routines, and comfort levels. Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where your pet feels at home while you're away. 🐾 If you think we'd be a good fit, I'd love to meet you and your buddy. We can talk about your dog's routine, personality, and any questions you may have before booking. 🐾 We hold all meet-and-greets at the dog-friendly neighborhood park right across the street from our home. We do this because it's a neutral place where everyone can relax, get to know each other, and make sure we're all a good fit before bringing a new dog into our home. It also gives me a chance to observe your dog's body language and get to know them in a low-pressure setting. 🐾 Thank you for considering us to care for your buddy. We appreciate the opportunity to earn your trust and hope to meet you both soon. Toby works from home full time, so your dog always has a real person present and engaged throughout the day. No empty houses, no lonely pups. Our yard is fully fenced and secure. Toby is home all day, so your dog is never unsupervised. We have First Aid and CPR training, and between Toby's work at Labs and More and Ellen's background in Humane Law Enforcement, your dog is in experienced hands from drop-off to pick-up.

“Thank you for being the most wonderful sitter for my Jill. I'm so glad I found you. You've been a lifesaver for me over the years and I appreciate you so much. With my husband being retired Jill doesn't really even need to go to a sitter while I'm at work, but she does, 3 days a week, just because! Happy New Year to the Thomas Family.”

“Rebecca did a wonderful job dog sitting while we made a quick visit to an event. She had a beautiful backyard that was enclosed where they could run freely. She took them on walks and gave them all the cuddles. Really happy with their stay.”

Eman & Robby were fantastic! I immediately loved their energy when I arrived and so did Lotus. Which was a relief because I’ve never left my fur baby with strangers before! I received a bunch of sweet messages and pictures during her stay that made me feel secure. They were also very flexible with timing which allowed me to be able to go with the flow. I would definitely use them again 🩷🐾

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
