“Lori was very friendly & had great communication. My pup Jewels had a good time playing with her two sweet dogs & had plenty space for Jewels to play. She sent me photos & videos of her having a good time. Lori was very accommodating to my dog & I would highly recommend! Thanks again Lori for taking good care of my pup. 🙂”

“This was my first true experience having a dog sitter and boy did Kayla blow it out of the water. I was extremely nervous finding someone to care for my two golden retrievers, that I’ve had since they were both babies, and finding someone I trusted to watch them was anxiety inducing. Long story short I am in a hotel temporarily with the doggos until our new home is ready and finding care was imperative. After scrolling through some rover profiles, and finding Kayla’s page I sent her a message and we initially did a meet and greet! Phenomenal idea to ensure the doggos get along and for me to know exactly where they’ll be and see the home, etc! My Golden’s were given love and then some more!!! They were even taken out on a field trip to a softball game where they got even more lovings. My Golden’s Rosie & Delilah made amazing friends with Kayla’s Golden, Copper, and overall I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitting experience and I feel so reassured knowing I now have a trusted, affordable, genuine pup sitter. My babies received immense love from Kayla along with everyone in their family. The children were beyond caring and sweet to the girls and they absolutely adored them. They were with Kayla and her family for 2 full days last week, one for a very important medical appointment that I couldn’t miss. After picking them up the first day I was floored when one of my Goldens ran away from the car as we were getting ready to leave and ran to Kayla’s front door. She had so much fun she did not want to leave!! The second day before leaving I asked if they wanted to go see Kayla and Copper and both of them bounced up and started running around. Thanks a million Kayla, you took so much weight off my shoulders and the updates throughout the day were adorable!!! You’re the best!”

About: Hi, I’m Farnaz (Fara)! I’m a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with over 10 years of experience caring for pets, including puppies, seniors, and pets with special needs or disabilities. I recently transitioned to a remote job, which gives me the opportunity to do something I truly love which is spending more time caring for animals! I offer daycare and boarding in my home, where your pet can enjoy a comfortable, safe, and loving environment. Because of my veterinary background, I’m comfortable administering medications, recognizing signs of illness or an emergency, and providing the extra attention that pets with medical or special needs may require. I’m also trained in pet CPR and first aid, so your pet’s safety and well-being are always my top priority. I especially love working with puppies! While they’re here, I’m happy to practice basic manners or teach them a few fun tricks you’d like them to learn. This is completely complimentary. I also have a 20-lb Mini Goldendoodle of my own. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and absolutely loves making new friends. She is wonderful with both dogs and cats and is very respectful of their boundaries. If another pet isn’t interested in playing, she’s perfectly happy to give them space. My goal is for every pet staying with me to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and right at home. I’d love the opportunity to get to know you and your pet! I work remotely, so I have a flexible schedule and am home throughout the day. This allows me to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and potty breaks throughout the day. I’m able to build my schedule around the pets in my care I have a fully fenced patio with partial shade where small dogs can safely enjoy some fresh air, play, or even sunbathe. I tailor my routine to each dog’s personality, needs, and normal routine. Depending on what they’re used to, this may include walks, outdoor potty breaks, or potty pads for dogs who are pad-trained. If a dog is crate-trained and needs some quiet time or a crate for safety, I’m happy to follow their usual routine.
“Michele was great! Our dogs loved her & we felt comfortable leaving both our pups in her hands for the day. She followed directions and provided an update. Both pups went home tired with smiles.”

“Robert and Andrea were amazing. I was in the area for the first time for a short period, and they were very welcoming and accommodating. They took Rocky on such short notice and Robert was incredibly patient and understanding when Rocky initially struggled to adjust. Communication was great leading up to the appointment and during, and I really appreciated the photo update- it was reassuring. They made sure he was fed, got him out for a nice walk, and helped him burn off energy. He came back happy and settled—truly appreciate their care. Highly recommend!”

About: I have had pets for most of my life. My family and I currently have one very playful dog, two cats and a bearded dragon. I, along with my family, have cared for family, friends and neighbors pets for several years now. I work from home, usually only leaving during the day for a few minutes in the afternoon for school pickups (most days I take my dog with me) or the occasional quick errand. I take breaks throughout the day for indoor and outdoor pet play time and daily walks. While I am usually home, if I need to be away for a time there is almost always at least one family member home. When working, my office door is always open. I have a fenced yard for outdoor play time and potty breaks and plenty of sidewalks, trails and parks near my home for daily walks and places to explore.
“Brandy was extremely nice and very accommodating to us when our regular sitter was not available today! We felt very comfortable knowing Jasper was being walked and taken care of. She provided updates and pics too. Her dog is super friendly and is a great buddy for the visit, too!”

“I needed a sitter last minute. And Chong was able to help. She had a fenced back yard which was great and someone was there all day to watch over my Bebe and the other dogs. Which I am appreciative of. Will definitely be scheduling more doggy sits in the future.”

About: Hello! I'm a dog enthusiast and former trainer working from home in an IT position now. Looking for pups who are a good fit to play with me and Winston during the day. We have a fenced in yard, and your dog will get plenty of affection and attention from me :) Both my partner and I work from home full time, so we have plenty of playtime and affection to go around! Potty breaks and playtime as frequently as your pup desires. Accepting new clients - Small dogs only (25 lb and under) My partner and I are both working from home full time, so your dog will get frequent attention, potty breaks, play time, and engagement from us! I only take one client at a time so your dog gets my full attention. Outside play time is always supervised. I will give your pup the same love and attention as my own. I have a fenced in yard, and dogs are under 100% supervision while we are out back. I'll send plenty of updates and pictures throughout the day.
“Thank you, Claudia! Claudia was great with our last minute request to help care for our puppy and adult dog. She was fast to respond and kept us informed. We would enjoy having her watch our dogs again!”

“Carrie, I hope you're not tired of hearing all my rave reviews over the years that you've watched my Jill. I'm certainly not tired of giving them, but I am running out of things to say lol " I don't know what I'd do without you" , pretty much sums things up for this time. Thank you SO much, and belated Happy Birthday for yesterday. Lorraine”

About: I have 8+ years dog-sitting experience with dogs of many different sizes and temperaments. Personally I have a 85 pound German Shepherd mix, Turbo, a 40 pound labradoodle, Maple, and an 80 pound Rottie/GSD mix named Tater. I thoroughly enjoy playing with them everyday and have learned many training techniques from raising them. I have a great deal of experience caring for a highly allergic and anxious dog. I understand the helplessness that can often come with trying to find a treatment that works. If your dog has allergies/skin issues, or any other special needs, I'm more than happy to help. Rest assured your dog will be given the love and attention they need to feel comfortable in my home. We do have 1 cat (named Sesame) who would prefer to be left alone. If your dog is very reactive around cats this will not be a good fit. I am a stay- at- home mom and my husband works from home, so we can offer a great amount of flexibility with drop-off and pick-up times. Your dog will be supervised 24/7 when in my care. I have a large (2.3 acre), fully-fenced backyard for optimal play! I have three friendly dogs who would love to show your dog all the best sniff spots. We also love going on walks, playing fetch, taking naps, and playing "find it." I've taken a dog CPR class to better understand the warning signs of a dog in distress, and what actions to take in an emergency. Being a pet parent myself, I greatly understand the peace of mind that comes from knowing your dog is safe and happy. Therefore, I will always send you multiple updates, with photos, every day throughout your dogs stay. Please let me know if you have any questions! I'd love to schedule a meet and greet. I can't wait to meet your pup!
About: Ive had a variety of pets since my first fish tank at age six. Ive responsibly taken great care of all animals Ive had personally or have helped with. Im an empathetic person that is happy to be able to be there for all pets and animals in general. Ive helped rescue and return home many lost dogs; my heart is in helping. My schedule is very flexible; I can accommodate most requests and will always communicate to ensure everything and everyone is taken care of. I am here and ready to help. My dog wallace is wonderfully kind and playful. She has a huge heart and enjoys every person and animal she meets. We play in our fenced backyard with grass for relaxing in sun or shade. My senior cat mostly stays in one room and does her own thing; she has met several dogs that have stayed with us and has had no problem with any. There are three parks and a well landscaped college campus within easy walking distance for interesting, enriching walks.
“Kathryn & Matt Took great care of Charlie. Charlie was always excited when we pulled up to their house. They have a nice setup for your pet to play in the backyard or go on walks in a nice neighborhood.”

About: Cats, dogs, even mini-pigs served through Rover! Cat owner for 15 years, adult and senior with and without dietary restrictions and post-medical care. Dog experience too but not my own. Being patient, kind and understanding is most important with humans and animals. I work from home and set my own schedule for activities and obligations. I don’t overload my schedule so I can give myself and any obligations a fair and dedicated amount of time I introduce myself to animals with trust and kindness and let them introduce themselves and have fun at their own pace! Do they like walks, fetch, cuddling? If your dog is present for doggy day care with me, cats will be restricted to a room for the duration and the dog will have run of the house with supervised time in my backyard in addition to walks

“Angie took wonderful care of my Jack Russell Terrier babies! She has a home away from home where they are free to roam inside and outside in her big, sunny backyard. Angie provided lots of pics and updates on Odie and Bubble during their stay to let me know they were having fun and being loved on. I highly recommend Angie!!!”

“Natalie is amazing! My dog, Lulu, absolutely adores her and loves going to her house for daycare. I pay close attention to Lulu’s reactions to environments, and she communicates in her own way when she’s comfortable or not. In the past, I had to stop taking Lulu to a specific daycare because she would shake with fear/anxiety at drop-off, whine, and try to drag me back toward the entrance to leave. When I pull up to Natalie’s home at drop-off, Lulu whines to get out of the car and practically drags me to door to get daycare started. She greets Natalie so enthusiastically and with so much excitement. That’s the only review I really need. Lulu visits for daycare twice a week now. I appreciate that Natalie gives me regular updates throughout the daycare stay and includes several pictures. After each daycare visit, Natalie provides a handwritten note summarizing Lulu’s day. Lastly, she’s simply a very warm and nice person. I’m glad we found her!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
