“Steven did an absolutely fantastic job watching Cooper and our home. Cooper was able to keep his normal routine and get lots of walks and cuddles thanks to Steven's attentive care. Cooper was also on medication and Steven did a great job with that as well. We returned to a clean home and a happy dog! We highly recommend Steven as a responsible and loving pet care provider for your house and pet sitting needs.”

About: I've always loved animals and have experience caring for pets for friends, family, and my own. I have two cats and have cared for my boyfriend's two cats for about a year, as well as a friend's cat for another year. I am also comfortable caring for dogs and enjoy spending time with pets of different personalities and energy levels. I currently offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting at the clients home. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, feeding, cleaning litter boxes, or simply having someone keep them company, I will make sure they receive the care and attention they need while you are away. I know every pet has a different routine, and I am very detail oriented, so I will always take the time to follow your instructions and help them feel safe and comfortable. I currently work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and can spend quality time with your pets. My goal is to treat every pet like they are my own and provide reliable, loving care. I will also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I look forward to meeting you and your lovely pets! I currently work part-time, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. I'm available for morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits, and I can work around your pet's normal routine to make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. I've always loved animals and know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them. I take the time to learn each pet's routine and personality so they feel as comfortable as possible while you're away. I have two cats, a bearded dragon, and a frog, so caring for animals is a part of my everyday life. I'll treat your pets like they're my own, keep your home clean and respected, and send plenty of updates and photos so you know they're happy and doing well.
“He was perfect for our 3 month old puppy and communicated and sent me photos throughout the time my dog was with him! He’s someone i would definitely rebook with him and i recommend him!!! Thank you so much for taking good care of Dante!!”

“We had Nicolas come and house sit and watch our dogs while we were out of town. He was extremely communicative, providing updates daily on the dogs and our house. He is easy going, respectful and a great dog and house sitter! We will be using him for all future trips as he made us so comfortable and gave our dogs all of his attention and time. I’d book with Nicolas without any hesitation!”

“Samantha was amazing. Only thing I would change would be how I prepared the house for her. She did exactly what I asked to take care of my baby Nipsey and I had zero worries coming back to my home after a business trip.”

About: My name is Maya. I am 20 years old and have a very flexible schedule! I have 5+ years of animal experience, I have worked in the veterinary field, kennel environment, pet sitting and volunteered at rescues. I am also Pet CPR First Aid Certified and have my Veterinary Assistant certification! Currently pet sitting is my full time job and I have full availability. I do want to start schooling by the end of this year to be a veterinary technician! To ensure every pets safety I am always outside with your dogs and I like to make sure all pets are accounted for. I understand that not all pets are super friendly and have boundaries so I try not to approach pets until they feel safe with me.
About: Over the 15 years I’ve been house sitting professionally, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for puppies to sr. dogs, kittens to sr. cats, lizards, fish, birds, and even farm animals. My goal when I care for your pet is to keep your pet in the routine to which they are accustomed. That means I follow your written instructions, as far their feeding time, walk time, etc. Though, I also want your vacation to feel like a staycation for your pet. That means I’m going to have fun with them whether that means giving them belly rubs, playing fetch with them or playing other fun games with them. Also, please note that you can hire me for overnights, dog walks, or both. So, my price for overnight stays is to stay in your home and care for your pet, but dog walking is separate from overnight stays. During my stay, as much as I will care for you pet(s), I will also care for your home. I’m happy to water any plants, bring in any deliveries/mail, take out the trash and other light chores (I won’t mow your lawn). I work for myself writing online content for people, so my work goes where I go. The only thing I ask is that you have an Internet connection and someplace where I can set up my computer. As far as caring for pets in my home, I am only able to board certain breeds of dogs, and that is contingent on the permission of the homeowner. I am unable to care for cats in my home, but I would be able to come to your home.. In general, I always care for your pet according to your schedule and preference. And I am always sure to adjust my schedule according to the schedule you set for me to ensure your pet receives optimal care. But the key to pet sitting is to emulate the routine to which the dog is already accustomed. My goal is that when you go on vacation your pet(s) will feel like they're on a staycation. Also, please note while I charge $65 per day, I charge separately for walks ($20 per walk). For pets that do not require walks (cats, sr. dogs, etc), I charge $75 a day.
“We felt comfortable immediately with Claudia staying at our home and watching our pups. She seemed to take such incredible care of them, that we felt safe to enjoy our trip. She sent regular pics and updates and the pups seemed so happy. Our dogs also needed medication and she had no problem administering it. She also took great care of our home and cleaned up. We are so glad we found Claudia and can't wait to book her again!”

About: I have years of experiencing fostering rescues, volunteering at the animal shelter, sitting for friends’ dogs, and of course raising my own beautiful golden retriever. I love dogs of all sizes and ages, from the unruly puppies to the grumpy seniors. Dogs are just the best all around. I currently work from home full-time. I have lots of time to dedicate to pups on walks or drop ins. My work schedule is pretty lax and I can plan around my calls easily. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly easygoing pup who likes to lounge around all day. I prioritize walks and exercise for all dogs who are able. I always feed dogs separately to avoid any kind of resource guarding.

About: I began caring for dogs at a young age and have experience with a variety of breeds, ages, temperaments, diets, and care needs. I understand that every dog is different, and I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and preferences to help them feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I pride myself on being reliable, attentive, and communicative, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether your pup loves long walks, extra playtime, lots of cuddles, or simply sticking to a familiar routine, I'm happy to accommodate their needs. I can't wait to meet your furry friend! Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine because I work fully remotely and maintain a flexible schedule. This allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, walks, playtime, and care throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for extended periods. I am available on weekdays, weekends, and for long-term stays, and I enjoy building my schedule around making sure pets feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I always follow the owner's instructions closely to maintain a pet's normal routine and provide consistency while they're away. This includes feeding schedules, exercise routines, medications, crate training, house rules, and any special care requirements. In both my home and a client's home, I prioritize safety, cleanliness, exercise, affection, and plenty of supervision. I make sure pets receive the attention, enrichment, and care they need while keeping owners updated with regular messages and photos for peace of mind.

“I had a sitter bail on me while I was on a trip. Ted stepped in last minute and saved me. He was responsive, kind, and left my dogs exercised and the house clean. I would definitely book again”

“Best time ever Charlie and Wally both were so happy to see her and had a great time. They were both sad when it was over. Thank you again and thank you for teaching the Wally another command can’t wait to try it out.”

“Alex was great! She saved my life and came super last minute to watch my doggy. She kept me updated frequently, sent me multiple pictures and did great with my doggy’s medication management. She was happy to help and be there, my doggy was sad seeing her leave! Would definitely 10/10 recommend Alex and will be asking her for help if needed in the future!”

About: I’ve looked after neighbors dogs and family friends dogs for years. I’m knowledgeable in canine body language so I can read their comfort levels and ensure they aren’t getting overwhelmed. I am very proficient in bathing dogs, I get dogs with double coats deshed and curly coated dogs brushed out. I am currently working part time at a dog grooming facility, but I have few hours. I would have plenty of time to play or lounge with your pups depending on their needs. If your dog is low energy, I would be more than happy to just hang out and play low impact games with them. For my high energy buddies, I would be happy to (with pet parent permission) take them on a trail hike or play ball.
“Holly was amazing!! We have a very stubborn dachshund who does not warm up to new people easily and barks a lot when meeting someone new. Leaving her for the first time for a lengthy international trip, I was pretty anxious, but holly made me feel completely relieved! She got our pup to warm up to her in no time and kept us updated with the cutest pics. She was also a very tidy house guest leaving our place cleaner than we left it. Would definitely book holly again and highly recommend her.”

About: I've always had animals growing up. My last dog was a Siberian Husky. I spoiled her all 14 years of her life. These days I help out by watching dogs of all breeds and sizes. Just let me know if you're pup has any curtain needs. I'm happy to make sure they're comfortable and cared for. Hi i have a very flexible schedule and I'm available for dog walking during both days and evenings. Whether your pup needs a quick break or a long adventure I'm here to help. I also offer boarding and daycare in a safe and secure environment where your pup will feel right at home. All dogs are absolutely welcome inside the house! But if they'd rather be outside, they're free to relax in the secure, fenced backyard with room to walk around.
“Beth was the most lovely, kind, and caring sitter for our baby boy Blue. I felt so at ease traveling knowing she was watching him and our house. She is super intentional about security and customizes her watching based on your pet and their needs! Will definitely book her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter ?”

Steven did an absolutely fantastic job watching Cooper and our home. Cooper was able to keep his normal routine and get lots of walks and cuddles thanks to Steven's attentive care. Cooper was also on medication and Steven did a great job with that as well. We returned to a clean home and a happy dog! We highly recommend Steven as a responsible and loving pet care provider for your house and pet sitting needs.

Jada was a wonderful sitter for our 3.5 month old Honey. From Jada's first response, meet and greet, to her week with our puppy we were pleased with her hard work with Honey. Jada did above and beyond what we expected as first time Rover users. She met every challenge of a young dog, potty schedule, feeding, walking, some training, sending texts and photos, and upkeep of the house. We will definitely use Jada in the future.

Julie did an excellent job caring for our dogs, Mike and Crüe, while we were traveling in Europe. From the start, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring. She provided consistent updates, photos, and videos, which gave us real peace of mind while being so far away. She followed all instructions carefully, kept to their feeding and walking routines, spent meaningful time playing with them, and clearly treated them with genuine care and affection. It was obvious from her updates that Mike and Crüe were comfortable, well-exercised, and happy the entire time. Julie also took great care of our home—handling small things proactively and respectfully—and was thoughtful enough to keep us informed of anything she noticed. When we returned, everything was exactly as we hoped, and our dogs were relaxed and content. We would absolutely trust Julie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, attentive, and kind pet sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winterwarm walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winterwarm maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winterwarm choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winterwarm. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
