We had an amazing experience with Angela. She was punctual, communicative, and patient with our more timid dog. She kept us informed throughout her time with our dogs, and we felt very confident and secure while she stayed with them. We came home to a wonderful surprise — Angela wrote us a sweet report card and gifted us a photo of our dogs that she captured. We give her our highest possible recommendation

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through both Rover, my work as a professional pet groomer and my current work as a Kennel Technician. I’m comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including energetic puppies, senior dogs, and anxious pets that may need extra patience and care. My experience includes feeding routines, daily walks, playtime, basic behavior monitoring, crate training reinforcement, maintaining clean environments, and following detailed care instructions from owners. Working in grooming has also strengthened my understanding of animal behavior, safety, stress reduction, and proper handling techniques. I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and positive experience for every pet while keeping owners updated with communication and photos My schedule is flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each client’s needs. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week, including during the day, and weekends. I do currently work part-time in the evenings. I’m reliable with communication, punctuality, and keeping consistent routines for pets while their owners are away. I care for pets by keeping their routines as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and any special care requests closely to make sure each pet feels safe and comfortable. During visits and stays, I provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks, potty breaks, and supervision while also paying close attention to behavior and body language. Cleanliness and safety are very important to me, so I always maintain a clean environment, secure doors and gates, and make sure pets are never left in unsafe situations. I also keep owners updated with regular communication and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for while they’re away.

About: I've cared for a wide variety of animals, including dogs of all ages, size, and temperaments; from energetic puppies to senior dogs, social butterflies to anxious pups, and everything in between. I've also fostered cats and lived with several over the years. No matter the species, I'm an animal lover first and will treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I provide frequent updates with photos and videos and am happy to check in with you as often as you'd like while you're away. Pets are family, and family deserves the very best care! Please note: I have base access and work with families and their pets on Camp Pendleton and in the areas around mainside (oceanside, vista, carlsbad, etc) I know how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pets while you're away. My availability is typically strongest during early mornings, evenings, and weekends, though I do have some flexibility during weekday hours. If my schedule is open, I'm ready to provide your pets with plenty of attention, care, and companionship! As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. I share my home with two dogs and a bearded dragon, so caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life. I believe pets are happiest when they can maintain their normal routines and stay comfortable in a familiar environment. Whether I'm providing drop-in visits, walks, or house sitting, I take the time to learn each pet's individual needs, preferences, and schedule. I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, affection (if they want it!), fresh water, meals, and any other care instructions you provide. I also send regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, happy, loved, and as stress-free as possible until you're back home.

Nicholas is such a nice, polite, and communicative young man. He kept in touch with me constantly before & during his stay at my home. I’ll definitely have him watch my golden boy, Beau-Bo, again in the future. Beau-Bo had unexpected ear surgery just before I left and Nicholas gave him his medications daily and took him to a follow-up vet appointment. Nicholas kept in touch with me and sent photos while I was away and I could see my Beau-Bo was doing well 😊. Thanks, Nicholas!

About: As long as I can remember I have always loved animals. As I’ve aged I’ve come to like bugs and reptiles too! Over the past year friends and family have requested I watch over their furry family and I’ve happily obliged. I have some experience with reactive dogs (ability to read their body language, having a calm energy and meeting them where they are). My experience has covered, a newer kitten with a special diet, a multi-cat home + dog and a senior cat with special medication requirements. I also am a pet parent to a small dog whom I adore. Since I work part-time, my schedule is pretty flexible, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. Currently, I only house-sit on days I do not work out of home, so my priority is you furry family. I’m pretty flexible depending on each individual pets needs. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, my priority is making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and as relaxed as possible while you’re away. I’m happy to accommodate your pet’s usual routine and will follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special requests exactly as provided.

Sara is a dedicated proffesional with a true love for our four-legged furry friends. We have three girls, all 10 years and older, each requiring individual care. One required injections twice a day promptly at 8:00. With Sara, we were kept informed of daily doings with videos and messages. We always felt like the girls were taken care of. We could tell from the videos that Sara communicated with each girl equally and lovingly. I was so pleased with Sara that I told all my fellow dog parents about her. Sara was also very prompt in responding to calls and messages. Our dogs require 24/7 care and Sara made this a pleasure, not a chore. When we returned home, we knew the girls had been well cared for. We travel a lot and I have had a total of 28 dogs and cats so far in my life. I would never consider boarding my dogs and would rank Sara as one of the best doggie caregivers I have known over the past 50 years. Thanks, Sara.

Once again we came home, from nearly 2 weeks away, to happy and well-adjusted dogs thanks to Beth's fantastic care. On top of that, this time she outdid herself by providing exceptional care even for the wildlife that visit our yard -- she scrubbed the bird baths and they're like new!! Amazing!!!

He was also flexible throughout the booking, making himself available earlier/later based on unexpected changes to my travel itinerary. He did a great job!

About: Hi I'm Emily! Having spent my younger childhood growing up in the mountains, I developed an early appreciation for nature and absolute love for animals. My grandma and I used to watch animal planet together and one of our favorite shows was animal cops. Seeing the rescues and transformations inspired me to get involved in any way I could to make a positive impact for animals and people. I often house/pet/babysit and have worked as a camp counselor, teachers aid, and girl scout leader which has made me great at organizing chaos! I enjoy getting involved in the community and have volunteered to benefit family rehabilitation centers, women's shelters, feeding San Diego, as well as several independent animal rescues, including frosted faces who specialize in care for senior dogs. I have at least 10 years of experience of pet care and home sitting. I strive to make each visit special and fun by introducing play, exploring the greet outdoors, and attending to specific care needs while relieving any potential stress a pet may be experiencing. Thank you for your consideration and I would be honored if chosen to care for your companion :) I have a schedule that varies due to a full time job but I am willing and flexible in finding solutions to fit the need of your pet. I strive to provide the best care for every pet and home by taking special measures to ensure the safety of both. I request care instructions from all owners to accommodate every individual situation.

FAQs for House Sitting - Camp Pendleton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Camp Pendleton on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,697 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Camp Pendleton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camp Pendleton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camp Pendleton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camp Pendleton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Camp Pendleton. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
