“Karli was absolutely amazing with our little Bentley. She loved him like her own and made sure he was always having fun. She was great with updates while we were gone and left our home looking great! I know we’ll be going to her for future puppy sitting needs.”

“Sophia was professional, responsive, and so kind to our doggos! I got updates and photos regularly, and she helped us trust that the dogs were taken care of so we could enjoy our weekend away.”

About: Dogs and cats have been a part of our entire life. Me and my family will love and care for your fur babies like our own! We are a retired couple who have all the time and energy and love to care for other pets to help families out when needed. We have a fenced patio area, crates and beds for nap and sleep time. We will walk animals multiple times a day and have lots of family fun time.
“Miles did a great job with my dog. He’s a super high-energy pup and he was very well taken care of throughout the two weeks I was out of town. Miles was super respectful of anything I asked of him and took my dog out for several walks and trips to the dog park. He quickly answered any questions or text messages from me. Would definitely recommend if you need any kind of help with your dog while away.”

“Laura was amazing! It was my first time booking her and I couldn’t be happier. She took such good care of my girl. She communicated every step of the way, sent photos, left my house clean! I’m admittedly high maintenance when it comes to my sweet girl and my home-zero complaints! I will definitely book her again.”

About: Hi! I’m a dependable and caring dog sitter who loves spending time with pups of all sizes and personalities. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just a calm companion, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every pet like family and always aim to keep your pet stress-free and content :) I have 2 Pomeranians and a Pug (in the pictures) and they are my WORLD! The Poms, Tommy and Ollie, are almost 8 and my Pug Linda just turned 2! I just moved back to Oceanside, and working one part time job, so my schedule is quite open, and I can be flexible as needed! I'm open to walking, and sitting at your home! I just moved into an apartment, so unfortunately I will not be available for pet care in my home, but I can come to you!
“Yajahyra is great and will definitely book again with her! She is so sweet, sent pictures and updates throughout the day which put me at ease. She also left a cute photo of my puppy for when I got home. Highly recommend!”

“Nicholas is such a nice, polite, and communicative young man. He kept in touch with me constantly before & during his stay at my home. I’ll definitely have him watch my golden boy, Beau-Bo, again in the future. Beau-Bo had unexpected ear surgery just before I left and Nicholas gave him his medications daily and took him to a follow-up vet appointment. Nicholas kept in touch with me and sent photos while I was away and I could see my Beau-Bo was doing well 😊. Thanks, Nicholas!”

“Katherine was on time every day . Good communication with us while we’re at work. Positive energy and attitude. Follow Lola’s schedule and helped us with potty training. Lola was very happy with her.”

“Roshanda was amazing! She went the extra mile by sending us regular photos and videos of Duke and Spooky to keep us informed. She helped our pets feel comfortable and safe while we were away. Our cat can be pretty shy around new people, but Roshanda was able to speak his language and get him to come and hang out. On the other hand, our dog deals with a bit of separation anxiety, and it's clear that Roshanda has experience with that because she got him to calm down and feel comfortable with us being away. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a responsible, caring, dedicated pet sitter.”

“Sara was amazing! She kept me up to date on how Daisy was doing. Photos and videos showed she was actually spending time with my pup. I came home to a house that was cleaner than I left it and a truly pooped pup. Highly recommend Sara!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for years - both in my own family along with neighbors and friends. I’m a dog and cat lover, and have experience with both as pets, including puppies and senior dogs. I am available to dog or cat sit, as well as provide walks and check-ins, in the North County San Diego area. I’d love to help take care of your furry family member! My full time job is on a hybrid schedule which allows for some flexibility. Depending on the situation, I may be able to stay with your pet all day (especially over weekends) or check-in on a daily basis. I will not be taking care of pets at my apartment, as pets are not allowed. As someone with previous pet-sitting experience, I ensure that I adhere to any guidance that owners provide. I’ve learned how to gauge signs of stress in dogs and cats, especially when they are meeting strangers. I try to get a sense of their personality and gently introduce myself to them as someone they can trust (giving them space, allowing them to sniff me, and treats help, of course!). When I visit or stay at someone’s home, I do my best to “leave no trace” and be respectful of the owner’s home.

About: Reliable, patient, and caring pet sitter who treats every pet like family. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs, walks, feeding, playtime, and basic training. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Because of my military schedule, I’m primarily available for pet care on evenings and weekends. I’m dependable and flexible during those times and can work with your pet’s routine to provide walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet. In a client’s home, I follow their routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I treat every home and pet with respect and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, care, and companionship while their owners are away.
About: I grew up on a farm with horses and have taken care of all kinds of pets including dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, and goats. Neighbors, friends, and family regularly rely on me to watch their pets. I’m available for walks on weekday evenings and have flexible availability throughout the weekend. I’m also happy to dog sit either at your home or at my home, as long as your pup gets along well with my dog. When staying with me, your dog will get plenty of exercise and attention, including a morning walk, an afternoon/evening walk when I finish work, and another walk before bed. I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away! I have one dog who typically gets along with other pets. In my care, pets are treated with patience and love. They will get everything they need and more.
About: *Use code CAROLG31006 for $20 credit on first booking* Hello! I'm Darlene! My family and friends also call me Caroline, so feel free to use either name. I have over 7 years of hands-on pet care experience and grew up with three dogs—a Husky, Chow Chow, and Cocker Spaniel—so I’m comfortable with different breeds and temperaments. I genuinely love dogs and treat them like family. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, patience, and consistent communication. I provide regular updates, photos, and peace of mind so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work remotely and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to provide consistent attention, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Your pet will never feel alone, and I can easily adjust my schedule to meet their specific needs, whether that’s extra potty breaks, exercise, or simply keeping them company and comfortable. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I provide a clean, secure, and pet-friendly environment with constant supervision, attention, and care. In your home, I follow all instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. I ensure doors and spaces are secure and never leave pets unattended for long. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Yaldora
Karli was wonderful with Storm during his four-day stay. She was caring, responsible, and very attentive to his needs. I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands while I was away. She kept me updated and took great care of him and my home. I highly recommend Karli and would absolutely have her stay with Storm again!
Savannah was absolutely wonderful with out two dogs. We booked last minute while visiting town and she was able to come watch the dogs. She communicated the whole time and our dogs warmed up to her immediately. We’ve had plenty of dog sitters and Savannah truly stands out among the rest!
Noemi took care of our boy Luthor once again and once again did an amazing job! She stayed in our home for 5 nights, which we appreciate greatly as it means Luthor gets to be in his space and feel safe. She took him on walks and even brought him a toy 🥲. Thank you so much Noemi for treating our boy so well.

Dog handlers don’t just take care of fur babies, they also take care of the clients as well. And some of us are worse than the dogs. I’m one of those. My dogs are my obsession and I’m very particular in their care. For the first time ever, I left my dogs in the care of someone who wasn’t me (1st in five years). My anxiety was through the roof. Joel was EXCEPTIONAL. Joel handled my crazy and the dogs with grace and kindness , and I’m suspicious that Axel and Harley may like him better than me. Both of my dogs are German Shepherds and require a strong, confident handler. They aren’t couch potatoes. Joel was fantastic and took their leads without hesitation. He was mindful of Axel and Harley and thoughtful of my personal stress. I would absolutely recommend his services and will be using him again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yaldora walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yaldora maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yaldora choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
