“Angela was so amazing! She stayed with Murphy & was super attentive with walking and hanging out with him! She was on time & very communicative! She was so kind & respectful of our home, I felt so comfortable with her! Not only did Murphy love her, but I did as well! Highly recommend & we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Sara is a dedicated proffesional with a true love for our four-legged furry friends. We have three girls, all 10 years and older, each requiring individual care. One required injections twice a day promptly at 8:00. With Sara, we were kept informed of daily doings with videos and messages. We always felt like the girls were taken care of. We could tell from the videos that Sara communicated with each girl equally and lovingly. I was so pleased with Sara that I told all my fellow dog parents about her. Sara was also very prompt in responding to calls and messages. Our dogs require 24/7 care and Sara made this a pleasure, not a chore. When we returned home, we knew the girls had been well cared for. We travel a lot and I have had a total of 28 dogs and cats so far in my life. I would never consider boarding my dogs and would rank Sara as one of the best doggie caregivers I have known over the past 50 years. Thanks, Sara.”
About: *Use code CAROLG31006 for $20 credit on first booking* Hello! I'm Darlene! My family and friends also call me Caroline, so feel free to use either name. I have over 7 years of hands-on pet care experience and grew up with three dogs—a Husky, Chow Chow, and Cocker Spaniel—so I’m comfortable with different breeds and temperaments. I genuinely love dogs and treat them like family. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, patience, and consistent communication. I provide regular updates, photos, and peace of mind so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine since I work remotely and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to provide consistent attention, regular walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Your pet will never feel alone, and I can easily adjust my schedule to meet their specific needs, whether that’s extra potty breaks, exercise, or simply keeping them company and comfortable. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I provide a clean, secure, and pet-friendly environment with constant supervision, attention, and care. In your home, I follow all instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. I ensure doors and spaces are secure and never leave pets unattended for long. I also send regular updates and photos so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Joel was very responsive, professional, and - most importantly - very caring for the pets. Our dog and cat warmed up to him quickly, which was a source of great assurance as he kept an eye on them for a few days. He was also flexible throughout the booking, making himself available earlier/later based on unexpected changes to my travel itinerary. He did a great job!”

“Nicholas is such a nice, polite, and communicative young man. He kept in touch with me constantly before & during his stay at my home. I’ll definitely have him watch my golden boy, Beau-Bo, again in the future. Beau-Bo had unexpected ear surgery just before I left and Nicholas gave him his medications daily and took him to a follow-up vet appointment. Nicholas kept in touch with me and sent photos while I was away and I could see my Beau-Bo was doing well 😊. Thanks, Nicholas!”

“Kristen was great with our two dogs and cat! She took great care of them and kept us updated with photos and videos. She ensured our cat took his daily medications and helped our hyper pup get the attention/activity she needed. We look forward to booking with Kristen again!”

About: I’m Olga! I come from a family of dog and cat breeders, and have spent most of my life around animals. I’ve been a volunteer at animal shelters, and love the bonds you can form with these furry friends we welcome into our homes. Since starting college, I haven’t been able to have a dog of my own, but am looking to befriend your pet and make sure they are feeling their best. I understand that each is unique, so I will want to find what type of activities would best suite their energy level to ensure they are getting the proper exercise and mental stimulation necessary to be healthy while preventing boredom from facilitating bad behavior. I will do my best in caring for your pet.
“Izamar did an amazing job watching our Frenchie Diesel and house sitting! Her communication was great, she sent pics, and took really good care of Diesel and our home. I highly recommend her and plan to use her again in the future!”

“Where to even begin! While my husband and I were away, Yajahyra stayed at our place to take care of our Frenchie baby Remy. I received detailed updates with pictures and videos and she left the cutest little poloroid picture of him. Remy was definitely missing her after she left! We can't wait to book with her again in the future.”

“Karli was absolutely amazing with our little Bentley. She loved him like her own and made sure he was always having fun. She was great with updates while we were gone and left our home looking great! I know we’ll be going to her for future puppy sitting needs.”

“Sophia was professional, responsive, and so kind to our doggos! I got updates and photos regularly, and she helped us trust that the dogs were taken care of so we could enjoy our weekend away.”

“My husband and I used Shari to watch our dog and cat while we were away for the day. She is responsible, kind, intelligent and, most importantly, we felt comfortable trusting her with our home and pets. She texted pictures and provided updates on our animals. We will definitely book her for future pet sitting needs.”

“Roshanda was wonderful with our dog Finch. He can be a BIG energy, stubborn little hound and she handled him perfectly. We were sent updates and photos each day so I felt comforted knowing he was safe. Thank you!”

I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs, big and small, and I absolutely love getting to know their different personalities. I know your pup is a true member of your family, and I promise to treat them like part of mine—with tons of affection, playtime, and love! I work part-time from home for just two hours every morning, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to dedicate the rest of my day to taking care of your pets. Because I am home for the vast majority of the day, I can provide consistent attention, regular potty breaks, and plenty of playtime to ensure your pup feels right at home. Safety and happiness are my top priorities. We have a big, secure yard where dogs can run, play, and burn off energy in a safe environment. I believe in treating every guest like a member of the family, providing a comfortable indoor space for relaxation and constant supervision. In the event of an emergency, the closest 24/7 animal hospital is VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) located at 2224 South El Camino Real. I am also BLS certified, ensuring I can stay calm and helpful in the event of any unexpected situation.

“This was my first time using Rover, and it was also my girls' first time being watched by someone they didn't know, so I was definitely a little nervous. Anita was incredibly quick to respond to my messages and was so flexible when we were running behind schedule on the day of our booking. From the moment we met her, she made me feel completely at ease. Our pups absolutely LOVED her! Anita was wonderful about keeping me updated throughout the evening with messages and photos, and it was obvious our girls were having the best time. Our little one is still a puppy and can be pretty timid while she's figuring out the world around her, but with Anita she looked so comfortable, happy, and confident. She even lost her FIRST TOOTH while Anita was watching her! Anita actually saved it for me, and I was so incredibly grateful because I've never experienced that milestone with a dog before. It meant so much to me that she thought to do that. Overall, we had the best experience, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better first Rover booking. I can't wait to book with Anita again whenever we're in the area. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of our girls—you were absolutely AMAZING! ❤️🐾”

I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring extra attention and specialized care. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Camp Pendleton South
My first vacation leaving my little guys for two weeks. But they LOVED having Sara here and caring for them. I really appreciated her daily updates and photos. It helped put my mind at ease, and I actually enjoyed my time away, without the stress and worry. It was so nice knowing that not only were my boys well loved and cared for while I was gone, my house was too! Sara is the perfect house guest! So grateful that we have Sara in our lives!!!
My 2 dogs were taken care by Adam on my last trip which was 16 days. He had walked them prior to my trip in the afternoon for 8 days due to some hand surgery. My neighbors all thought he was very knowledgeable regarding dogs. They all liked him stating that he was a very polite young man. He sent pictures daily and would text about funny and quirky things the dogs were doing. My place was neat and clean when I returned. He even stripped the bed for me. I already have Adam booked for another trip this year. You will not be disappointed if you book him for your next adventure.

Dog handlers don’t just take care of fur babies, they also take care of the clients as well. And some of us are worse than the dogs. I’m one of those. My dogs are my obsession and I’m very particular in their care. For the first time ever, I left my dogs in the care of someone who wasn’t me (1st in five years). My anxiety was through the roof. Joel was EXCEPTIONAL. Joel handled my crazy and the dogs with grace and kindness , and I’m suspicious that Axel and Harley may like him better than me. Both of my dogs are German Shepherds and require a strong, confident handler. They aren’t couch potatoes. Joel was fantastic and took their leads without hesitation. He was mindful of Axel and Harley and thoughtful of my personal stress. I would absolutely recommend his services and will be using him again in the future.

This was my first time working with Malia. She came in for a meet and greet and it was immediately a wonderful fit, not to mention my car Koa having an instant liking to her. Malia took the time to understand Mia and Koa’s elaborate routine and asked questions. The day of Malia was attentive to detail and communicative throughout the day which helped me feel good knowing Mia and Koa received the best care possible. I could tell she was also enjoying her time getting to know them and spending time with my lovely voids!

Brianna is awesome and took excellent care of our energetic boxer. Her communication is on point, you can tell she really loves dogs, and she has a very high level of professionalism that I really appreciate—you just know your pup (and your home!!) will be in great hands from the moment you meet her. Will definitely be rebooking in the future!

Stephanie is great! We have 2 older high anxiety dogs with heart problems and a cat that doesn’t like anyone. She was extremely attentive to their needs and made sure they were super comfortable. Usually when we get home, they have a lot of anxiety. This time, it was like we never left!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Camp Pendleton South on Rover is $41.07 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,842 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Camp Pendleton South. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camp Pendleton South walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camp Pendleton South maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camp Pendleton South choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Camp Pendleton South. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
