“Angela exceeded our high expectations (based on her previous reviews). She was very caring towards our elderly dog, as shown by the questions she asked about her eating habits, where she sleeps etc. Angela is also an outstanding photographer and sent us regular pics of our dog who was clearly very happy spending time with Angela. Angela treated our home with complete respect and it was spotless when we returned. Angela even gave us a detailed list of all the things our dog did for example how she behaves during walks etc. I cannot imagine a better dog-sitter than Angela.”

“Karli was absolutely amazing with our little Bentley. She loved him like her own and made sure he was always having fun. She was great with updates while we were gone and left our home looking great! I know we’ll be going to her for future puppy sitting needs.”

“I can't sing enough praises for Dana, who stayed looked after our home and pets or a whole month while we were out of the country. Throughout our time away, Dana kept us updated with the perfect balance of messages, and let me tell you, her updates were more than just routine check-ins. They were filled with anecdotes and little details that showed she truly got to know our pets. Her fun responses made it clear that she was spending quality time with them, making sure they felt loved and cared for in our absence. But it wasn't just our pets Dana took care of; she treated our home with the same love and respect. Coming back to a house that was not only well taken care of but also perfectly clean was amazing! It was evident that Dana went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. Finding someone you trust to look after your furry family members is no easy feat, but with Dana, we hit the jackpot. Knowing that she's there to take care of our pets gives us such peace of mind when we're away. If you're searching for a pet sitter who will treat your animals like family, look no further than Dana – we couldn't have asked for anyone better!”

“We had Nicolas come and house sit and watch our dogs while we were out of town. He was extremely communicative, providing updates daily on the dogs and our house. He is easy going, respectful and a great dog and house sitter! We will be using him for all future trips as he made us so comfortable and gave our dogs all of his attention and time. I’d book with Nicolas without any hesitation!”

“Sophia was professional, responsive, and so kind to our doggos! I got updates and photos regularly, and she helped us trust that the dogs were taken care of so we could enjoy our weekend away.”

“Sarah was wonderful and took such great care of our little guy while we were gone! She gave me daily updates and we were so relieved to have her there! She took great care of our home as well! We will definitely have Sarah sit for us again and so appreciate how kind, professional and loving she was with our dog!”

“Eli was so great with Brew! We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Brew was in good hands. He kept him active with hikes and was happy to give Brew company. Eli was timely and responsible and we will definitely use him again to help with Brew. Thank you!”

“Samantha was amazing. Only thing I would change would be how I prepared the house for her. She did exactly what I asked to take care of my baby Nipsey and I had zero worries coming back to my home after a business trip.”

“Izamar did an amazing job watching our Frenchie Diesel and house sitting! Her communication was great, she sent pics, and took really good care of Diesel and our home. I highly recommend her and plan to use her again in the future!”

“I have a puppy for the first time and she was too young to go to any kind of kennel. I discovered this app and found Megan. She was exactly what I was looking for, someone to stay at my house while I went away for three days. She was responsive to all my questions and went out of her way to be a great houseguest as well. She kept me informed throughout so I never worried. She is a real find and I highly recommend her.”

“Miles did a great job with my dog. He’s a super high-energy pup and he was very well taken care of throughout the two weeks I was out of town. Miles was super respectful of anything I asked of him and took my dog out for several walks and trips to the dog park. He quickly answered any questions or text messages from me. Would definitely recommend if you need any kind of help with your dog while away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Camp Pendleton South
Adam watched my boy in home for an out of town trip I had to make. Very reasonably priced. Came over a little earlier than I had originally asked so I could have peace of mind before I left (me and my dog both get separation anxiety lol). Sent lots of pics and was very communicative! followed all my requests/instructions to the letter..sending pics with each. :) when I got home, the house looked like no one had ever even been there! Definitely would rebook! Thanks Adam!

Dog handlers don’t just take care of fur babies, they also take care of the clients as well. And some of us are worse than the dogs. I’m one of those. My dogs are my obsession and I’m very particular in their care. For the first time ever, I left my dogs in the care of someone who wasn’t me (1st in five years). My anxiety was through the roof. Joel was EXCEPTIONAL. Joel handled my crazy and the dogs with grace and kindness , and I’m suspicious that Axel and Harley may like him better than me. Both of my dogs are German Shepherds and require a strong, confident handler. They aren’t couch potatoes. Joel was fantastic and took their leads without hesitation. He was mindful of Axel and Harley and thoughtful of my personal stress. I would absolutely recommend his services and will be using him again in the future.

This was my first time working with Malia. She came in for a meet and greet and it was immediately a wonderful fit, not to mention my car Koa having an instant liking to her. Malia took the time to understand Mia and Koa’s elaborate routine and asked questions. The day of Malia was attentive to detail and communicative throughout the day which helped me feel good knowing Mia and Koa received the best care possible. I could tell she was also enjoying her time getting to know them and spending time with my lovely voids!

Brianna is awesome and took excellent care of our energetic boxer. Her communication is on point, you can tell she really loves dogs, and she has a very high level of professionalism that I really appreciate—you just know your pup (and your home!!) will be in great hands from the moment you meet her. Will definitely be rebooking in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camp Pendleton South walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camp Pendleton South maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camp Pendleton South choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
