“Adriana did a great job with my dogs, she's on time, and so good. She let me know when she arrived and left, also let me know if both dogs ate and relieved themselves. We're looking forward to her helping us again with our pups.”

“We hired Nadia to watch our fur baby for 8 days while we visited family cross country. She stayed at our home with our frenchy over night, each night, which was a wonderful security that he could feel at home with his things while we we were away. Nadia sent daily updates and pics. She picked up backyard potty breaks (even though I had said it wasn’t necessary), she followed his feeding, treats, toys and sleep instructions to the letter. We came home to a summary of the visit and little Polaroid pics of our baby she had taken. Nadia is truly a gem. Definitely will be using her again and without a doubt recommend her. - happy customer - Beth Miersch”

About: I’ve always grown up with pets and animals of all kinds. All different types of dogs, puppy to senior, same with cats. Ive owned chickens, goats, and a pig as well! I’ve taken care of over 100 exotic animals during an internship for an animal rescue facility. If you need someone experienced who is willing to play or provide company for your pet, I am here to do it all! I’m currently exploring the city of Los Angeles and looking to familiarize myself with the area. My current schedule is very flexible, reach out to me with questions, I’m happy to chat! I’m a reliable, responsible pet sitter who understands that pets are family. I prioritize their safety, comfort, and routines while you’re away. I’m attentive to instructions, provide regular updates and photos, and treat every pet with patience, kindness, and respect. I have years of experience caring for animals and am committed to creating a calm, secure environment where they feel loved and well cared for. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is in trustworthy hands.
“Jewels house-sat and watched our mom’s Frenchie while we were out of town for four days. She took wonderful care of him and sent daily photos, which we really appreciated. Jewels is attentive, knowledgeable about pet care, and made us feel completely at ease knowing Vito was in such good hands.”

“Alanna did an excellent job watching my pup for several days and put my mind at ease while traveling. My pup loved the walks and cuddles from Alanna. She really did an amazing job and I highly recommend her.”

“Rachel is super knowledgeable about anxious, reactive dogs, this really helped me have peace of mind while I was away bc my dog can be quite a lot!! She sent pictures, left my place clean, would love to have her again!”

“Beckie did a great job with our senior dog Cooper. She even went the extra mile, taking the trash out, washing the sheets and towels, washing the dishes in the dishwasher. She even replaced the creamer. We will definitely be calling her back in the future.”

“Wow! Best sitter ever! Our 200lb mastiff can be a lot. Don’t be fooled by Elena’s petite frame. She can absolutely handle large, strong dogs. Excellent communication and her photography skills are excellent. We now have new pictures that are worthy of printing/framing. Treated our home with great respect and even started laundry on the towels, sheets we left out for her. I can tell our baby had a wonderful loving time (and he usually sulks and won’t eat while we’re gone). Shes got pet whisper magic.”

“Azucena was so helpful and dependable. She helped me out in a pinch while I unexpectedly had to travel more than usual. I'd absolutely recommend her and I'm grateful for her help!”

“Jillian was patient, kind and very conscientious with our deaf and mostly blind senior dog. I was very anxious about leaving her but with Jillian's clear communication and photos, began to relax. When we returned our dog was just fine, due to Jillian's hard work. She's the best!”
“We had a last minute cancelation for a dog sitter. Holly was able to house and dog sit with short notice while we were out of the country. Our fur-babies were well taken care of. Will use Holly again!”

Isabella is hands down the best pet sitter I have ever used! From the moment she met my dogs, it was clear she has a genuine love for animals and completely understands how to handle them. She was incredibly attentive, followed all of the care instructions perfectly, and went above and beyond to make sure they felt comfortable, safe, and loved while away. She kept me updated with great communication and the sweetest photo updates, which gave me total peace of mind. My pups were so happy, relaxed, and well-cared for when I got back. If you want a sitter who will treat your dogs like her own, look no further than Isabella. I will definitely be booking her again! Thank you so much, Isabella!

Kathryn did an amazing job taking care of our 2 dogs, Wally and Evie (golden retrievers - 6 y/o and 1 y/o), in our home while we were on a long 17-day trip! She and her husband took them on daily walks and sent several photos of the doggies which was so nice as we were really missing them. Early on in the trip, Wally developed a hot spot, which Kathryn was extremely communicative and diligent about, sending daily pictures and updates. Ultimately she took him to the vet and was so thorough about ensuring Wally was wearing his e-collar and putting ointment/spray on the hot spot that it was completely healed by the time we returned home! It truly takes a lot of care and diligence. She also did an excellent job watching Evie, who just turned 1, and made sure that she didn’t eat anything she wasn’t supposed to as young Goldens tend to do. Kathryn left the house very clean, stripped the bed sheets, and gathered the towels for washing - nothing like coming back to a clean home after a long travel day. Overall I couldn’t be happier with Kathryn as an in-home sitter; I could tell from the photos that the dogs were happy and cared for, and she went above and beyond caring for Wally and his hot spot. Would definitely recommend her and book again!

Olivia is amazing, we knew right away that she would be a great fit with our newly adopted, 8 year old, 100 pound pit bull that can be a challenge to walk because she's so strong and pulls on the leash, especially when encountering other dogs. Olivia managed her perfectly. She came over a week before our trip so that they could meet, and our dog instantly loved her. Olivia took perfect care of our home and sent us updates and photos of them cuddling and walking every single day. We have another international trip coming up soon and we only want Olivia as our sitter from now on. She's such a great and very caring person, and i definitely recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their fur baby and home!

Kat was perfect for our pet sitting needs! She was communicative, loving to the pets, very responsible, and super pleasant. She truly does love animals, and it shows! We did not worry one minute knowing that Kat was watching over our four furry family members. Highly recommend, and will book again!

Jason stayed with my two dogs for 5 days. We lost both our old dogs in this last year and have two newer additions, a 2yr old pit/bulldog mix and a 11mo old boxer/bulldog mix. We've only had the puppy for a few months and so she is learning how to be a house dog, how to use her dog door, and how to use her manners (she's a counter surfer and has zero regards for personal space) so it is the first time we've left them. He took care of our home and our pups over the New Years holiday, checked in daily, and sent pics of them all lounging on the couch where they like to hang. We'll connect with him again and trust that our dogs were in good hands.

Kira was an absolutely amazing rover to work with- from her prompt responses, fun pictures she sent while watching our dog, to bringing in packages without even asking, I really enjoyed having her take care of our sweet golden retriever and house. It felt very reassuring to have someone I felt a natural trust and ease with meeting and seeing her with our dog. Would highly recommend Kira and will definitely be booking with her again in the future!!!
This is the second time I’ve had Emily watch Ghost for a long weekend and I couldn’t be more pleased. She really leaves me with such peace of mind when we’re gone and I never have to worry if Ghost is being taken care of. She also always leaves our home spotless even though I tell her she doesn’t need to clean! I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter.

This was our first time using Rover and having someone house sit to watch our dog, and Amanda made the experience smooth and stress free! She took the time to listen and take notes during our meet and greet, which gave us a lot of confidence. While we were away, she took great care of both our home and our dog. We came back to a happy pup and a tidy home. We would definitely book Amanda again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake San Marcos walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake San Marcos maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake San Marcos choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
