“Where to even begin! While my husband and I were away, Yajahyra stayed at our place to take care of our Frenchie baby Remy. I received detailed updates with pictures and videos and she left the cutest little poloroid picture of him. Remy was definitely missing her after she left! We can't wait to book with her again in the future.”

“Nicolas did a great job with our 60lb German shepherd mix while we were gone over the weekend. He got lots of walks, treats, and attention -- his 3 favorite things. Will definitely be keeping Nicolas on the roster for future trips!”

“We had to book a last-minute trip to visit grandma due to a health issue, all while my 14-year-old fur baby’s health was rapidly declining, caring for three other dogs, and preparing for my toddler’s first road trip. Needless to say, my anxiety was through the roof. Laura made me feel so much more comfortable from the very first meet-and-greet. She asked thoughtful questions, took notes, listened carefully to all my concerns, and provided reassurance when I needed it most. And she was absolutely not kidding when she said we’d come home to a house cleaner than we left it! When we returned, the dogs were calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. Knowing my senior boy was in such attentive and compassionate hands gave me priceless peace of mind during a very stressful time. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Laura to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring.”

“Katherine was on time every day . Good communication with us while we’re at work. Positive energy and attitude. Follow Lola’s schedule and helped us with potty training. Lola was very happy with her.”

“Sophia was professional, responsive, and so kind to our doggos! I got updates and photos regularly, and she helped us trust that the dogs were taken care of so we could enjoy our weekend away.”

About: As long as I can remember I have always loved animals. As I’ve aged I’ve come to like bugs and reptiles too! Over the past year friends and family have requested I watch over their furry family and I’ve happily obliged. I have some experience with reactive dogs (ability to read their body language, having a calm energy and meeting them where they are). My experience has covered, a newer kitten with a special diet, a multi-cat home + dog and a senior cat with special medication requirements. I also am a pet parent to a small dog whom I adore. Since I work part-time, my schedule is pretty flexible, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. Currently, I only house-sit on days I do not work out of home, so my priority is you furry family. I’m pretty flexible depending on each individual pets needs. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, my priority is making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and as relaxed as possible while you’re away. I’m happy to accommodate your pet’s usual routine and will follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special requests exactly as provided.
“Joel is such an unbelievably great sitter for our high-energy, high-maintenance pups. He was able to wrangle our 9-month-old malinois (NOT a job for the faint of heart) as well as our smaller but equally crazy 3-year-old mixed breed for four days without breaking a sweat! My husband and I felt super comfortable with him in our home and with our dogs; he's highly communicative, sends great pictures, and he and his wife are all-around great people. I'd give 10 stars if I could!”

“Have hired Laurel two times now and will continue to rebook with her! She does great with both of my cats, one of them being diabetic. Super sweet and quick to respond/communicative. Would recommend!”

“Anusha was great with our Wally while we were out of town. She was communicative, sending updates and pictures daily. She took him for walks and continued to help with his training. She left our place spotless and is someone we’ll trust and use for future needs!”

“Karli is an absolute gem!!! This was my first time using Rover and it did not disappoint. Karli was effective with her communication and took such good care of my cat while I was out of town. I cannot recommend her enough!”

Feel free to send me a message to work out what is needed and I may be able to provide what you need 😊 Whether its a walk, drop in,or sitting,I'll make sure to give my full attention to your pet. I provide regular updates, photos, and peace of mind so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I provide a clean, secure, and pet-friendly environment with constant supervision, attention, and care. In your home, I follow all instructions closely to keep your pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. I ensure doors and spaces are secure and never leave pets unattended for long. “Were we pleased with Roshanda? Overjoyed! It's obvious that she takes pet sitting very seriously and our two pups received excellent care. Communication was excellent, pictures were very nice to have, and being confident that the girls were in good hands was absolutely priceless. And unless I'm mistaken, our house was tidier than when we left it! I recommend Roshanda whole-heartedly for those looking for a solid, dependable sitter who is also super nice. Thanks Roshanda!”

“Isabel communicated well and arrived on time despite having car trouble. I appreciated that, plus she got the mail and took Angel for good walks. Already booked her to come back again!”

Noemi took care of our boy Luthor once again and once again did an amazing job! She stayed in our home for 5 nights, which we appreciate greatly as it means Luthor gets to be in his space and feel safe. She took him on walks and even brought him a toy 🥲. Thank you so much Noemi for treating our boy so well.

Laura is incredible! She watched my pup for over a week and went above and beyond. As a helicopter parent, it really helps me to know that my dogs ok and she would send me multiple photos and updates a day letting me know he’s having fun and taken care of. She even left me a thank you note and pictures of him!! It’s always hard to let someone have your dog for that long but I fully trust her!

Makenna took incredible care of our dogs and cats while we were away. She sent regular updates and photos, kept up his routine, and clearly treated him like her own. She’s reliable, communicative, and genuinely great with animals. We’d book her again without hesitation and highly recommend her.

This was my first time working with Malia. She came in for a meet and greet and it was immediately a wonderful fit, not to mention my car Koa having an instant liking to her. Malia took the time to understand Mia and Koa’s elaborate routine and asked questions. The day of Malia was attentive to detail and communicative throughout the day which helped me feel good knowing Mia and Koa received the best care possible. I could tell she was also enjoying her time getting to know them and spending time with my lovely voids!

Alexandra was an amazing in-home dog sitter. She took excellent care of my senior dog, who has a specific diet and requires medication, and handled everything perfectly. She sent photos and updates a couple of times each day, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away from my boy. It was clear he was comfortable, happy, and very well cared for. I would absolutely book with Alexandra again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.

Danny was a great help during our time away, and he did an outstanding job of keeping up with a rascal of a puppy in addition to our adult Lab. Danny definitely went above and beyond to keep the chaos in control, and kept us informed along the way. We also appreciated that he went beyond expectations to leave the house clean and tidy before we got home. Would highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Luis Rey walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Luis Rey maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Luis Rey choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
