About: My family and I have always loved dogs. Growing up in Japan, we had a Hokkaido dog, a larger and active breed, as well as a Toy Poodle. I have many years of experience caring for dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I cared closely for our Hokkaido dog when he became ill, and our Toy Poodle is now 13 years old and lives with my family in Japan, so I also have experience caring for senior dogs. Since moving to California, I’ve regularly cared for friends’ dogs and have had several experiences providing overnight care in my home for one to two weeks at a time. I understand that every dog has their own personality, energy level, and routine, so I always try to provide care that fits their individual needs. For dogs who prefer a calm environment, I can choose quieter walking routes with less traffic, while active dogs can enjoy longer walks or even a run with me. I’m also happy to follow their usual feeding, potty, walking, and sleeping routines as closely as possible. Most importantly, I believe pets are family. Dogs give us so much love, and I want every dog in my care to receive that same love and kindness in return. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also send photos and updates so you can relax knowing how your dog is doing. If your dog has any special routines, needs, or preferences, please feel free to let me know—I’m happy to discuss them with you! I work freelance from home, so I spend a lot of time at home and can give your dog plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. During their stay, I’ll do my best to follow their usual schedule for meals, walks, potty breaks, and rest. I also enjoy being outdoors, so I’m happy to adjust walks and activities based on your dog’s normal routine and energy level. I host only one dog at a time so I can provide a calm environment and give each dog plenty of individual attention. I carefully manage my schedule to avoid overlapping stays. For all new clients, I require a Meet & Greet before accepting a booking to make sure it’s a good fit for both your dog and me. This also gives me a chance to learn more about your dog’s personality, routine, and care needs so I can provide a safe and comfortable stay. My home has fenced patios on both the first and second floors, where dogs can safely enjoy some fresh air, relax, or play with me. When the weather is comfortable, the upstairs patio is also a nice place for them to relax or take a nap. Dogs staying in my home are expected to stay off the furniture and beds. I do my best to respect each dog’s normal routine and household rules while providing a safe, calm, and comfortable environment. Before their stay, please let me know about their potty habits, including any history of indoor accidents or marking, as well as their daily routine, any special needs, or anything else you think I should know to help them feel comfortable and at home. For walks and drop-in visits, I’ll follow your instructions and your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

“My second time booking with Darcey! Pet parents of reactive dogs know how challenging it can be to find someone to dogsit - I hadn’t been on a family vacation in years because I was unaware such patient people like Darcey existed. I have a small dog who is moderately reactive to strangers and other dogs out of trauma. In the first 24 hours of staying in an unknown place, he will lightly nip at people who get too close too fast or at dogs who get right up in his face, and we understandably got turned down a couple of times by other sitters. I breathed a sigh of relief once I read Darcey had reactive dog experience and this knowledge helped her (and her partner) understand Oreo really well. That first day, they gave him the space and time he needed to realize that he was in safe arms and by the next morning they were buds! I’m so glad Oreo has found other human friends :).”

I have a loveable almost 3 year old, high energy playful Huskey Shepard mix and an outdoor cat who is 8 years old who could care less when other pups come over as he naps outside all day. My husky loves to play with other dogs and I will use positive reinforcement to help both settle during your pups boarding stay. Treats, toys and a large backyard for plenty of running room and play. Hi there! 🐾 I’m a Marketing Manager with a flexible hybrid work schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of time at home with your pups while pet sitting. When I go into the office, I have a large, fully fenced-in yard where dogs can safely enjoy outdoor time, stretch their legs, and play with plenty of toys. For overnight stays, I’m happy to crate pups or follow their normal routine, including feeding schedules, medication instructions, walks, potty breaks, and bedtime preferences. I’ll do my best to keep your pet’s routine consistent so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Before your pet’s stay, I’ll make sure to learn about their personality, habits, favorite activities, dietary needs, and any special care instructions. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pup is happy, safe, and well cared for. Your pet will receive plenty of love, attention, companionship, and patience throughout their stay. 🐶❤️ I live in a quiet community on a culd-de-sac and really large safe fenced in yard. I have a 3 year old husky Shepard dog (super friendly with other animals) and an outdoor friendly, but lazy cat Gizmo who is not phased by new furry faces.

About: I've taken care of dogs from a young age, ranging from puppies to elderly pups. I've been lucky enough to have 5 dogs that I've loved dearly. I worked as a vets office in college for a year, and was a dog groomer for about a year. I currently work from home and no longer have any fur babies living with me, and I'd love to get some cuddle time while I'm home alone. I often take care of my friend's dogs when they're gone, including one that has past trauma with men, so I understand the different levels of care and techniques needed to help a dog feel more comfortable and safe. I work from home so I’m available at all times during the day for play time, potty breaks, cuddles etc. I allow dogs on all of my furniture, and don’t have any real restrictions aside from being potty trained and hopefully not eating my plants lol. On the weekends, I'd more than likely take your dog with me out and about if it's ok and the environment is safe for it. I have a fenced-in courtyard with 5ft fencing. There’s a large grass area directly outside my unit and I live about a 3 minute walk from the beach.
