“Maddie was super accommodating when she took my dog last minute for a 3 day weekend when our first sitter cancelled last moment. I got my dog back tired, content and so happy! He had a wonderful time with Maddie who is an excellent communicator and sent the cutest photos of my dog throughout his stay. Would definitely recommend her to anyone in search”
“What a great experience! We were searching for a boarding option last minute and were so glad we connected with Avery. She has a very positive, calm and nurturing personality and our dog loved her. The communication was great from the very beginning and throughout the stay. She definitely went above and beyond and we will for sure be booking with her again.”

“Danielle and Austin were both amazing. Our pup definitely had a great time exploring their yard and hanging out with their dog Hank. I had no fear that Odin was well taken care of. Definitely will be boarding him with them again!”

About: I especially love caring for small and medium-sized dogs under 40 lbs. I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you trust, so my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable and at home while you’re away. I’ve loved and worked with dogs for years, and I’m dedicated to giving them the care and attention they need. I pay close attention to each dog’s unique personality and follow their owner’s instructions to a T. I understand the signs of their needs—whether it’s playtime, rest, or comfort—and make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and right at home. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of time to spend with your pup throughout their stay. They’ll receive regular potty breaks, walks, playtime and lots of attention. I’ll also send photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re happy and comfortable. I have a small Miniature Pinscher of my own, so I’m very familiar with the needs and personalities of smaller dogs. I keep my home clean, comfortable and supervised and follow your dog’s feeding, sleeping and potty routine as closely as possible.
“Elizabeth and her family were amazing! They sent us daily photo updates while our dog, Shake, was staying at their home, which gave us so much peace of mind. Shake looked incredibly happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Our kids were even joking that he might not want to come back home because he was having such a great time! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would happily trust Elizabeth with Shake again.”

“Arthur was wonderful to work with. Prompt, responsive, great updates & photos. He asked us great questions to get to know our dog's needs and most importantly, took wonderful care of our Lucky! We would happily reach out to him again in the future.”

“Tahni was amazing. 🤩 She was the best second mother to my fur baby! Completely accommodating to my last minute schedule changes. I will definitely recommend and book with Tahni again. 5 stars!!! 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶”

About: For over 11 years, I’ve cared for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities, including French Bulldogs, German Shepherds, Weimaraners, Siberian Huskies, and my current English Labrador. Every dog is unique, and I enjoy understanding what makes each one feel comfortable, safe, and happy. I have experience with basic obedience training, including sit, down, stay, wait, leash walking, puppy training, and kennel/crate training. I believe patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement are the best ways to help dogs learn and build confidence. My own dogs are an important part of my family. I feed them a high-quality diet, keep them current on veterinary care and vaccinations, provide daily exercise, and make sure they are well socialized while always putting their safety first. When caring for your dog, I understand they are not my pet, so I always respect your routines, training methods, and instructions. My priorities are safety, regular feeding, exercise, playtime, and making sure your dog feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I treat every dog with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your best friend! 🐾 As a business owner, I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give dogs the time and attention they deserve throughout the day. I’m available for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, exercise, and companionship. I understand that every dog has a different routine, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and at home. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have a secure front and backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. There are shaded areas to keep them comfortable on warm days, as well as plenty of space for supervised play and exercise. I carefully introduce dogs to new environments and always monitor their behavior. I follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, medications, exercise, and routines. If your dog is crate-trained or has specific needs, I’m happy to accommodate them. I treat every dog with the same love, patience, and respect that I give my own, while making sure they always feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for. * I only accept a limited number of dogs at one time so I can give each one plenty of attention. * I send regular photo and video updates while you’re away. * Fresh water is always available, and dogs are never left outside unsupervised. * I can reinforce basic commands and leash manners during their stay.
“We had a wonderful experience with Kameron! She took excellent care of Piggy and gave us peace of mind while we were away. Piggy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention and love. Communication was great, and we appreciated the cute pics.”

“Rosie had the time of her life. Rachel was easy to communicate with and sent me pictures and Rosie having a good time. Thank you Rachel I look forward to having her join you again.”

“David is great! This was our first experience with him. For the first time Mila did not jump in my arms when she saw me at pickup. She was perfectly happy with David. Finding someone trustworthy is hard to find. I feel like you could trust him as he also can relate since he has his own dog. Super kind and careful with treating Mila. I truly appreciate how responsive he is. Fantastic all around!! 🙏”

“Sean & family (including their dog Zorian) were just wonderful dog sitters! This was a repeat booking with him and I certainly plan to use him again in the future. They welcomed my dog into their family and took great care of him!”

“Candace and Tim were great! Excellent, frequent communication and updates. They took Teddy out for lots of walks and kept him busy all day and they gave him a bath. I would definitely book with them again!”

“Sara took such great care of my boy Bubba. She is so kind and punctual and sends lots and lots of pictures and videos everyday. She listened to everything I had to say and incorporated that into her care of Bubba. I would highly recommend Sara and will be booking with her again!!”

About: Rover I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I was raised on a ranch, so being around and caring for animals has always felt very natural to me. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, from little lap dogs to much larger breeds, as well as senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I’m comfortable administering medications and following specific routines, and I understand how important consistency can be—for older dogs or pets who are happiest when things feel familiar. Most of all, I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. Whether we’re out for a good walk, enjoying some fresh air, or simply keeping each other company, I want them to feel safe, comfortable and well cared for. I live in the village and happy to take your baby for long walks if suitable for them. The journey of life is sweeter when traveled with a dog. I’m self-employed and work from home, giving me a very flexible schedule. With a little advance notice, I can easily accommodate walks and pet care. I’m respectful of your home and your pet’s routine, ensuring safe, calm pick-ups and returns while following any specific instructions you provide for their care.

What a great experience! We were searching for a boarding option last minute and were so glad we connected with Avery. She has a very positive, calm and nurturing personality and our dog loved her. From the moment we met Danielle and Austin at the original Meet & Greet, we knew we had struck gold. Despite having never met, we immediately felt comfortable with leaving our goldendoodle, Olive, with them during our trip. Olive, too, felt equally at home. While we were away, Danielle and Austin provided us with daily updates and pictures, all of which showed how happy Olive was. We have definitely found Olive’s boarding family and will continue to go there for our future travels!

Maddie and her family were amazing with our big puppy. We have a large 1 year old who has a lot of energy. We got lots of updates about how he was doing and he enjoyed all the space to run around outside. He was very happy and well taken care of when we picked him up. She was very communicative and quick to respond.

Kimberly is Awesome! I have used her 3 times with my dog are Lady and she has always gotten back to me quickly if I have a question. She sends me pictures of her while I am away which I love!! Most importantly is that when I take Lady over to her house she is happy and not scared! That is very comforting for me to know she is in great hands

We had a wonderful experience with Kameron! She took excellent care of Piggy and gave us peace of mind while we were away. Piggy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention and love. Communication was great, and we appreciated the cute pics.

Frank came back happy, clean, & taken care of! Alexis sent me pictures & videos, was always quick to respond, and made pickup/drop-off super easy. She was also really patient & understanding with Frank's needs. I feel totally comfortable to have him stay with her again next time Im in town & would definitely book with Alexis again! 🐶❤️

Aubrey was great with my two little chihuahuas! And her Ripley was a great host as well. Aubrey was very flexible and understanding and was not deterred at all by my elderly dog's medication needs and her nervous, old lady, chihuahua behaviors. I felt very comfortable having my two babies being cared for by Aubrey and Ripley. Will book again!

Sara is the best rover I could’ve asked for. She took me in last minute, and made sure I was well updated on my dog. She walked her, took lots of pictures for me, and even tended to Lexi’s allergies without me asking her to. I could tell when I picked her up that she had been well taken care of. 10/10 recommend! Thank you sara

Alyssa & her husband Shane were excellent! They took such wonderful care of our dog Rocky! Very caring & loving, they were very responsible, and quick with communication! We received lots of photos and even a video while we were away. We highly, highly recommend this awesome couple to watch your pet of any kind!

Michael was flat out amazing. My pup can be a bit hesitant to new people but immediately loved him upon meeting. He took her on multiple long walks making sure to keep her well exercised and entertained. He sent lots of photos which helped me as I have never left my dog with someone we didn't already know before this. We will be sure to book with Michael again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Camp Pendleton South home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Camp Pendleton South.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Camp Pendleton South sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
