20-Yr Pro, HomeF/T Small-Dog ResortVista, CA

I have over 20 years of professional pet care experience, working at pet hotels, a pet supply retailer, an emergency vet, an animal shelter, a Humane Society, dog training and pet sitting. I have extensive dog, cat, fish, small mammal and bird care, breed and behavior knowledge. I specialize in nutrition and feeding amounts. Please let me know if your dog needs to gain or lose a few pounds, or just needs to become a healthier dog. Pet sitting IS my full-time job! I love dogs (and other animals) so much, I started my Pet Care career right out of high school, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and working at a pet supply retailer. I was the kid that studied the encyclopedia to identify dog breeds.

Caring for dogs in my home is more ideal for me than any other pet care field because it is such a positive situation compared to the sad or stressful situations of vets, animal shelters, etc. Typically pet parents are excited to go on vacation and their pups are excited to have their own vacation or have a fun day of Day Care. Pet sitting is perfect for me because I am home for my 8 and 11-year-old children and I can use all of my Pet Care experience to take care of your furry children. This is perfect for your pup because she gets to practice socializing with kids and other small dogs in a fantastic environment!

Small dogs (25 lbs. or less) can come stay at my home and have their own vacation! I take small dogs only, for their safety and comfort and for our peace of mind. I have a central air conditioner and heater, cozy couches and a dog-handicap ramp for those couch potatoes, as well as a large, fully-fenced yard with lots of grass and hillsides to race around! I have a 7-foot fence with Coyote Rollers on the top to keep coyotes and other critters out and dogs in. I have gopher wire against the fence, dug underneath the ground, to stop diggers. My gates are padlocked. I have baby gates inside and five locks on my front doors. Your pup is safe and secure, but I also put my own tags with my own information on everyone, just in case! While you're away, I will send you plenty of beautiful pictures and videos.

Why I like Rover:

* Rover has Premium Insurance of up to $25,000 (after $500 deductible) to cover vet bills if something happens to a pup at a sitter's home.

* Rover will dispatch people locally to help find a lost dog.

* Rover has a whole database of local sitters as a backup in case your favorite sitter is booked or if a dog is not working out in one sitter's home. They will arrange for the dog to be taken to a new sitter.

* The sitter is paid two days after you pick up.

* You use a card and reserve the spot ahead of time. Rover guarantees it.

* Rover is how I met you and my new furry friends. <3

I treat your pup like my own!Oceanside, CA

Hi, I'm Jaana, a stay at home Mom who would love to care for your dog. I have years of experience taking care of friends and neighbors dogs and loving it! I Became DogVacay host 2013 and came over to Rover with the 2017 merger. We are thankful every day for the chance to renew our passion for dogs and share this fellowship with so many dog loving individuals, couples and families. We have met many terrific dogs and wonderful caring people through Rover and DogVacay and take real delight in our canine time!

My home has a large fenced backyard with lots of room to play. Our block in Rancho Del Oro is in a quiet residential neighborhood that is very dog friendly. The animals sleep inside at night in a spot of their preference (floor, their bed, kennel, etc.). I love and enjoy walking and interacting with my furry friends. I take at least two walks a day and plenty play, fetch time out in the large backyard. An exercised dog is a happy one. I make sure your dog stays on schedule with walks, medications, feedings etc.

Our large back yard is a perfect place where your pup will be able to sun bathe or play fetch. We don't have a pup of our own at the moment, so Rover gives us and our 15 year old daughter an opportunity to host and care for other people’s dogs. Most of the time your pup has at least one guest pup to play. We give every guest a lot of attention and treat them as our own.

We love your dog! While you are away they are members of our family.

CPR, First Aid for dogs certified.

Safety is always first priority, can't board non-social dogs or dogs with aggressive tendencies, or dogs with severe anxieties.

Please make sure your dog is flea free and updated on all vaccines prior to their stay. We will need a copy of your dog's immunization records.

We can not accept intact males or unspayed females over 1 year old.

MY NIGHTLY BOARDING RATE COVERS A 24 HR PERIOD FROM THE DROP OFF TIME. Later pickups are available but an additional daycare charge will apply. Long stays exception.

Pickups and drop offs from 8:00am-7:00pm.

If you think we are a perfect fit for your pup I would love to do meet-n-greet.

If my calendar shows no availability, shoot me a message. I still might have a spot open for your pup.

Holiday rates: $50.00 per nigh.

Why I love dog sitting

When I was 3 years old, our neighbors had a litter of puppies. I fell in love with one of the puppies and begged my parents to let me have him. We grew up together and I have had dogs in my life ever since. I am the person that family and friends come to with training questions or help with their dogs. I have recently began offering one-on-one dog training professionally.

About my yard

We have a rather large backyard that is fenced with mostly grass, 2 palm trees, shade,2 dogloos and a swimming pool.

** I am available year round - 7 days a week/365 days a year.

About Us: We are a small family consisting of three humans - myself, my husband Joe, our 11 year old son A.J., and two pets - our 9 year old puggle, Kepa, and our 13 year old male cat, Ceelo. We enjoy camping, riding our ATV & quads, and volunteering for our son's Little League team.

Our Pets: Kepa is a pug/beagle mix and was one of the founding members of a meet-up/play group in Portland, OR and is very socialized as a result. Kepa absolutely loves everyone, 2-legged and 4-legged, alike. Our cat is very shy and will spend the majority of his time upstairs; it is not a requirement that your dog(s) be cat friendly.

My Services:

- Boarding | While you enjoy your vacation, let your pet enjoy their staycation! Bring your pet to us for overnight care, in our home, while you are away. They will love meeting new friends, snuggling on the couch by the warm fireplace and receiving their favorite bedtime treat!

** Overnight Boarding Rate is calculated per a 24-hour period. Pricing starts when you drop your dog off and pick up would be the same time on the last day of the stay. Example: If you arrive at 8am, check-out is at 8am on your check-out date. If drop-off and pick-up times vary by more than 1 hour a prorated daycare fee would be applied.

Beyond 24-hour cycle additional fees per pet:

1 - 5 hours: $10 extra

6 - 10 hours: $25 extra

10+ hours: overnight charge

** Please see the rates section on my profile for individual rates including holiday rates, puppy rates (under 1 year old), and additional dog rates.

** Rover's software auto calculates all stay requests upon your first message to me. This may result in the initial price quote being overcharged/undercharged. Hi, my name is Amy and I'm a work from home mom with 3 kids ages 18, 15, and 15. We recently moved on to Camp Pendleton so I am new in the area although I have been on Rover for almost 5 years. I am a certified Veterinary Assistant and have taken additional classes for dog sitting, walking, pet nutrition, and cat behavior through ABC. I'm also CPR certified for animals. I spent time doing an externship at VCA and have spent several hours volunteering for local shelters. I love all dogs and have a special place in my heart for rescues. My whole family enjoys having dogs around and would love to be able to watch your fur baby for you and guarantee they will be part of the family.

About my services:

Keeping Pets Happy Healthy and Safevista, CA

"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." - Dalai Lama

It has been my experience that animals are put into our lives for a purpose: to teach us lessons and help us become better people.

I have cared for pets all my life.

As a family we have nurtured everything from butterflies to snakes, to feathered friends and fur babies. We love all animals.

Recently, our family dog passed and we have not made the transition to a new pet. I felt this would be a great transition, helping others, while giving our family the joy of wet noses and sloppy kisses.

About me:

I am Holistic Health practitioner and have been integrating holistic health into my animal business since 2007. I was always aware of the mind, body connection and feel it was the animals I took care of that inspired this is me.

I have recently completed an animal CPR certification and am now studying animal communications.

I have seen numerous animal clients regain health from simple dietary changes all while improving allergies and inflammation.

I am also an educator and hold workshops on how to protect your pets health.

I use crystals and Bach Flower Remedies to help enhance healing sessions. I am a nurturer at heart. Your pet will definitely love daily pet massage and Reiki energy treatments by me!

Reiki is a system of spiritual practice that uses meditation and love to unlock our healing potential.

I have worked with pets challenged by emotional ailments with great success, as well as physical ailments using massage and Reiki.

My husband and three boys all help in the care of the animals that are boarded with us.

My boys are 10, 7 and 5.

About my clients dogs:

I have had all types of dogs around our family. Large, medium and small dogs. Each type of dog has a different personality and we as a family work around the dog to best suit his/her needs. Need lots of energy? My boys can provide it!

Prefer to have more quiet time, our family can respect that as well.

My dog sitting style:

My dog sitting style is consistent with your pet parenting style. I believe consistency is the best approach for a dog in a new environment. If the dog needs to be crated we work with that, as well as cuddles on the couch.

If the dogs like it, I take two walks a day and love to take hikes to Buena vista park.

We have a large backyard, that is safe and fenced in.

I also like to offer to bathe your dog at the local self pet wash. Please let me know if you would like that added service to your stay. The cost is dependent on the size of the dog. I use all natural and holistic products and I make my own flea and tic spray out of essential oils that are 100% pure, natural, effective and safe for the animals. Please let me know at the time of your booking if you are interested in this.
