Laurie was amazing! She was very accommodating and sent photos of my fur babies while she watched them on my wedding day. She took them for walks and was very patient with them all. She was a real life saver and I would recommend her to any one in need of an amazing dog sitter. 🩷🐶

Amanda was so great! She was really good with my crazy puppy and paid attention to my senior cat who usually keeps to herself. Amanda even went above and beyond and trimmed my pups nails a bit because she noticed they were long. Would definitely trust her to watch my animals again!

We had to book a last-minute trip to visit grandma due to a health issue, all while my 14-year-old fur baby’s health was rapidly declining, caring for three other dogs, and preparing for my toddler’s first road trip. Needless to say, my anxiety was through the roof. Laura made me feel so much more comfortable from the very first meet-and-greet. She asked thoughtful questions, took notes, listened carefully to all my concerns, and provided reassurance when I needed it most. And she was absolutely not kidding when she said we’d come home to a house cleaner than we left it! When we returned, the dogs were calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. Knowing my senior boy was in such attentive and compassionate hands gave me priceless peace of mind during a very stressful time. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Laura to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring.

Yajahyra was kind and thoughtful. She was flexible with scheduling, met my puppy Rory with me before sitting began, followed the care instructions perfectly, and checked in regularly with updates on feeding and sweet photos and videos. I felt completely comfortable and Rory loved her. I would absolutely work with Yajahyra again!

She is super intentional about security and customizes her watching based on your pet and their needs! Will definitely book her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter ?

I was very pleased with Erin. She stayed at my house with my two dogs. (Both have separation anxiety.) . She sent pictures everyday and responded quickly to any texts. I had a flight cancel, so I was delayed getting home, but Erin graciously stayed until I could get home. When I returned my dogs were happy and calm. I would definately use Erin again to watch my two fur babies.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through both Rover, my work as a professional pet groomer and my current work as a Kennel Technician. I’m comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including energetic puppies, senior dogs, and anxious pets that may need extra patience and care. My experience includes feeding routines, daily walks, playtime, basic behavior monitoring, crate training reinforcement, maintaining clean environments, and following detailed care instructions from owners. Working in grooming has also strengthened my understanding of animal behavior, safety, stress reduction, and proper handling techniques. I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and positive experience for every pet while keeping owners updated with communication and photos My schedule is flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each client’s needs. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week, including during the day, and weekends. I do currently work part-time in the evenings. I’m reliable with communication, punctuality, and keeping consistent routines for pets while their owners are away. I care for pets by keeping their routines as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and any special care requests closely to make sure each pet feels safe and comfortable. During visits and stays, I provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks, potty breaks, and supervision while also paying close attention to behavior and body language. Cleanliness and safety are very important to me, so I always maintain a clean environment, secure doors and gates, and make sure pets are never left in unsafe situations. I also keep owners updated with regular communication and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for while they’re away.

About: Been taking care of roommates, friends and my own pets since college in 2009. I have fostered a special needs dog that was deaf, diabetic and had cataracts, she needed insulin injections with every meal. I adopted 2 awesome dogs, one of them has been through 2 ACL surgeries and lives with Cushing's. I work from home and have a pretty flexible schedule. I can take a long lunch and walk/check in on your animals. I have pretty open availability to visit evenings and weekends. Walking a dog is a great way to bond and give the pet some sunshine and exercise. I don't mind spending a good amount of time playing with the dog and make sure their needs are met. I am used to having my dog be a picky pee spot picker, so I have a lot of patience.

About: I have had dogs for my entire life and am very experienced with all levels of care from walking and feeding, to administering medication and light obdience and potty training. I am highly attentive, comfortable with all sizes and breeds, and dedicated to maintaining your dog's regular routine so they feel safe and loved while you're away. My schedule is currently wide open for the summer, so I will have plenty of time to dedicate to your pups. I do ask for some advance notice, but I am open to accommodating same-day requests when possible. I provide a secure environment for pets in my home with at least 3 walks a day and plenty of engagement. I have a doodle who loves to have "sleepovers" with new friends. Safety is my top priority, so I can easily crate your dog if needed. I am fully able to accommodate any specific feeding schedules and administer any medications if required. I can provide the same level of service in your home as well, except I'll leave my doodle at home ☺️

This was my first time using Rover, and it was also my girls' first time being watched by someone they didn't know, so I was definitely a little nervous. Anita was incredibly quick to respond to my messages and was so flexible when we were running behind schedule on the day of our booking. From the moment we met her, she made me feel completely at ease. Our pups absolutely LOVED her! Anita was wonderful about keeping me updated throughout the evening with messages and photos, and it was obvious our girls were having the best time. Our little one is still a puppy and can be pretty timid while she's figuring out the world around her, but with Anita she looked so comfortable, happy, and confident. She even lost her FIRST TOOTH while Anita was watching her! Anita actually saved it for me, and I was so incredibly grateful because I've never experienced that milestone with a dog before. It meant so much to me that she thought to do that. Overall, we had the best experience, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better first Rover booking. I can't wait to book with Anita again whenever we're in the area. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of our girls—you were absolutely AMAZING! ❤️🐾

Angela exceeded our high expectations (based on her previous reviews). She was very caring towards our elderly dog, as shown by the questions she asked about her eating habits, where she sleeps etc. Angela is also an outstanding photographer and sent us regular pics of our dog who was clearly very happy spending time with Angela. Angela treated our home with complete respect and it was spotless when we returned. Angela even gave us a detailed list of all the things our dog did for example how she behaves during walks etc. I cannot imagine a better dog-sitter than Angela.

Danny was a great help during our time away, and he did an outstanding job of keeping up with a rascal of a puppy in addition to our adult Lab. Danny definitely went above and beyond to keep the chaos in control, and kept us informed along the way. We also appreciated that he went beyond expectations to leave the house clean and tidy before we got home. Would highly recommend!

There aren't enough words to describe Victoria's level of care, commitment and compassion for animals! Victoria took excellent care of our dogs while we went away for a special occasion. One of our dogs has complex medical needs and required emergency medical care while we were away- a nightmare for any pet owner! Victoria was on top of it, communicating quickly and always responsive. I worried less knowing our fur babies were in good hands. She also went above and beyond to befriend both dogs and our typically fearful dogs both love and trust her thanks to her patience and amazing level of care. We truly can't thank her enough! Anyone would be lucky to have Victoria care for their animals

FAQs for House Sitting - Bonsall

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bonsall on Rover is $46.37 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,755 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bonsall. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bonsall walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bonsall maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bonsall choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bonsall. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
