I can't sing enough praises for Dana, who stayed looked after our home and pets or a whole month while we were out of the country. Throughout our time away, Dana kept us updated with the perfect balance of messages, and let me tell you, her updates were more than just routine check-ins. They were filled with anecdotes and little details that showed she truly got to know our pets. Her fun responses made it clear that she was spending quality time with them, making sure they felt loved and cared for in our absence. But it wasn't just our pets Dana took care of; she treated our home with the same love and respect. Coming back to a house that was not only well taken care of but also perfectly clean was amazing! It was evident that Dana went above and beyond to ensure everything was just right. Finding someone you trust to look after your furry family members is no easy feat, but with Dana, we hit the jackpot. Knowing that she's there to take care of our pets gives us such peace of mind when we're away. If you're searching for a pet sitter who will treat your animals like family, look no further than Dana – we couldn't have asked for anyone better!

Laurie was amazing! She was very accommodating and sent photos of my fur babies while she watched them on my wedding day. She took them for walks and was very patient with them all. She was a real life saver and I would recommend her to any one in need of an amazing dog sitter. 🩷🐶

Samantha was amazing. Only thing I would change would be how I prepared the house for her. She did exactly what I asked to take care of my baby Nipsey and I had zero worries coming back to my home after a business trip.

Meghan was an amazing sitter from the get-go! She was thorough in her questions about how to care for our energetic wire fox terrier, Caspar. She also provided excellent updates and photos while we were away. Meghan went above and beyond, taking our dog to the park, looking after him when he was ill, and provided him with plenty of attention - which demonstrates the highest level of care and commitment! Meghan's the best and we highly recommend her services. We'd work with her again in a heartbeat, and I know our terrier would love that too! Thank you so much Meghan! ❤️

About: I have taken care of cats since I was about 10 years old and dogs since I was about 13. Shortly after I moved out I adopted puppy then a kitten. It was definitely fun training my own puppy. I am currently a stay at home mom who also homeschools my kids. Our dogs are taken out for walks during the day and night. We love playing and cuddling with our cats and dogs throughout our school day. We crate our dogs when we are not home. If your pet is needed to be in a crate when you are not home, I can ensure that will happen.

I’ve had pets my entire life—including Shar-Peis, Labs, Dachshunds, Scotties, puppies, and multi-pet households—so I’m comfortable with all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I work from home, which means your pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, companionship, and love throughout the day. I keep my bookings limited so every pet receives personalized attention, affection, and quality care. 🐕 Services Offered ✔ Dog Boarding ✔ Doggy Day Care ✔ Dog Walking ✔ Drop-In Visits ✔ House Sitting ✔ Cat Care & Drop-Ins ✔ Bird & Reptile Care 🚗 Pickup & Drop-Off Available For your convenience, I can provide pickup and drop-off service for daycare or boarding appointments for an additional fee. This is perfect for busy schedules or early departures. 📸 Extra Peace of Mind I’m happy to send photo and video updates during your pet’s stay so you can relax knowing they’re happy, safe, and well cared for. Your pet is never "just a booking" to me—they become part of the family while they're in my care. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member and creating a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for everyone involved.. I currently work part-time from home, which provides a flexible schedule and ample time to care for your pets. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to adjust my routine to fit your pet’s needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or cuddles, I ensure your pet receives consistent attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and live in a quiet, gated community with plenty of walking areas. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine closely and adjust to their specific needs, whether that includes crate training, extra supervision, or special care instructions. I can take dogs to a local dog park for exercise and socialization (if approved), and I always ensure pets feel secure and relaxed. I’m also happy to provide a cozy, loving environment—including plenty of cuddles and even letting your pet sleep nearby if that’s what they’re used to.

About: Hello! My name is Fidencio, (my family calls me John, and you can too). I am 32 years old and have a long history of caring for dogs in my family. In 2005, my Father rescued a puppy from war torn Iraq. He fell in love with Target, our Iraqi dog, while he was deployed there. I remember my dad calling my mom, begging her to please find a way to get Target home, to California, over 7000 miles away. We went to work as a family finding any possible way to get our small puppy back home. Long story short, because we love animals, we got Target shipped to LAX. Target was what we considered an animal refugee. I remember going on the drive to LAX as a 5th grader to go pick up Target, when I first saw him he was scared, being shipped across the globe and being separated from his owner on the journey. But as soon as we got in the car we broke the crate open, we instantly all fell in love. Dedication to protecting a caring for animals is something that runs deep for me. And opening up our home to do that for others is an honor. I’ve attached some photos of Target, our 1st family dog. Looking at these older photos is such a trip! Blast from the past if you will. My Dad is now retired from the USMC and has a service dog jack, who is pictured above. He loves to play with other dogs and is very friendly. Hope you meet you and your pet soon! I am home full time and will always be there for you and your pet! Can be contacted 24/7 and checkup anytime. I’m just a call away. I care for other pets the same I would care for my own. With love, patience, and care. These things come naturally as an animal lover!

Michele and David were great! We booked them pretty last minute and they were willing to stay the weekend with our Lux and Link! Luxy was/is stuck in a cone right now and needed medication administered as well. They were patient with the unique needs Lux has right now and kept us updated throughout the stay. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies!

He is so good with all of our animals, and we came home to a happy set of doggos and kitty :) Luna had the absolute best time playing with his dogs, too, and Nick was so good about checking with us ahead of time. Very much looking forward to their next stay with Nick!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Pala

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pala on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 3,476 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pala. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pala walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pala maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pala choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pala. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
