“Amanda did an excellent job taking care of our reactive dog while we were away for the weekend. She followed all our instructions, communicated very well, and gave Sierra lots of attention and playtime.”

About: I worked at a humane society and worked with many dogs of all sizes and breeds. Helped to socialize them; took them for walks/hikes, went for car rides, got them comfortable being outdoors. I also dog sat for friends and family throughout the years. Very comfortable with giving medications and taking care of special needs dogs (grew up with a dog that required seizure medication and had frequent seizures). As a college student I have a fairly flexible schedule. My weekends are completely free and I have more than a couple hours free during the weekday in the mornings and evenings (as well as some time during the middle of the day if I’m not in class). I grew up in a home where dogs were family members. We were very comfortable with them being indoor and outdoor pets. We would go for hikes, walks/runs (was fairly active to help the dogs release their energy) and would also relax together indoors. Will crate as needed for dog and family comfort or will just hang out on a sofa and read a book for company for the pet. Since I’m used to caring for a high maintenance dog that required special attention, I can clean up accidents and administer medications if needed (with lots of approved treats)
“Nicole was a lifesaver, our doggy developed some stomach issues right before my planned trip and Nicole was able to take care of her and even help me get her to her vet and start a care plan while I was away. Safe to say that she has my complete trust with my dog and there’s no one I would recommend more!”

“We were so happy to have Devika stay in our home with our dog Lucy while we attended a wedding! Devika was very responsive and sent lots of photos of Lucy which I appreciated. She was available on short notice and left our house in great shape. Thank you Devika!!”

“We were so reassured having Emily stay in our house with Lola while we were away overnight. She took great care of Lola and we won’t hesitate to call on her again in the future!”

About: I grew up with cats and have lived with animals my whole life (cats, fish, hamsters, dogs). I have provided petsitting for cats, reptiles, and dogs. I have petsit across ages, temperaments, sizes, medical needs, and energy levels. From a senior deerhound, to two young whippets, to cats with specialized diets and medication administration. I'm a remote office worker with a flexible schedule who is looking to stay active and save for my first home. I love going for walks, rain or shine! And there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with a furry friend. I work remotely and can be with your furry family all day and provide them with as much supervision and enrichment/exercise as they need to ensure they have fulfilling and safe days. I am certified by the Red Cross in Pet First Aid.

About: Hello! My name is Abigail and I have been taking care of pets for about 8 years. I have rescued two seniors and taken care of multiple dogs between the ages of 1 to 12. I am a go to sitter for my family and neighbors. I have experience taking care of disabled dogs and multiple years of administering medications (pills, liquid medication, ear drops, eye drops). I am a junior at Texas Tech university but Boston is home for every school break. I would love to provide housesitting/walking services in your home to minimize disruption for your pet while you are out of town or out and about. I will leave your place exactly as you left it and I will care for your pets exactly how I have always cared for my own. I love to be involved in the daily routine of pets that I am caring for. I am very accommodating to their routines. I am up for spending lots of time helping them to burn off energy or sit and be calm while petting them if that is more their speed. I can do long walks or short walks, play time, snack time and/or dinner time. I will care for your pets exactly as you would and I welcome as much detail as you would like to provide. There is nothing too big or too small for me to do! I am happy to go exactly at your pets pace.
“Mike was so great taking care of our fur babies as well as our home. He will love your pets as his own and wants to make sure their routine doesn’t change just because we are away. We felt very reassured while they were in his care. Highly recommend!”
“Traci was super responsive and willing to accommodate our very last minute over night request with our young puppy who, while adorable, is a handful at this age! She was super helpful not only providing the care we needed, but also offering some helpful recommendations for his schedule, toys, etc after spending a night with him which were super valuable to us as new puppy parents. We’d hire Traci again in a heartbeat!”

“Itzli was amazing with housesitting our 7 month old lab puppy, she gave the perfect level of updates, and took great care of him. He had so much fun fetching and walking with her throughout the weekend!”

“Erica was wonderful staying with our elderly dog while we were away. She kept us up to date with what was going on with our dog and sent photos multiple times a day. I would highly recommend Erica as a pet sitter.”
“This was my first time being away from my 10 month old blue heeler mix. As he is still a puppy he can be a handful and is still a work in progress with commands. Andrew did a great job, sent daily updates, and put my mind at ease. I will definitely be rebooking. He was also accommodating to a short notice schedule change. Thanks Andrew!”

“Amy was truly wonderful! She watched my notoriously anxious and stubborn 3-year-old Aussie, Maggie, for a weekend and handled her with so much patience and care. She exudes kindness and was extremely attentive to Maggie’s needs. It’s clear Amy genuinely cares about the dogs she works with and takes the time to understand their individual personalities. Amy was incredibly communicative (& sent photos!) and reliable from the moment I messaged her, and I always felt fully informed and at ease while she was caring for Maggie. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter — Maggie and I can’t wait to book with her again!”

“Julia W. was great with our exuberant goldendoodle, Jake. She clearly loves animals, and has excellent experience with dog care and training. Jake was busy each day with multiple walks, playtime, and then some nice down time. Julia communicated well, sent us pictures, was very responsive. We knew that our dog was in great hands. Thank you so much!”

About: Certified in Pet CPR & First Aid 🐾 Thanks for clicking on my profile! I believe house-sitting is fundamentally an act of stewardship. My goal is simple: when you walk back through your front door, everything feels exactly as it should. Your home is peaceful, your pets are happy, and you can tell they have been genuinely cared for. 🐾 Every animal has its own personality, and earning their trust is one of my favorite parts of this work. 🐾 As a home-owner myself, I understand how to manage properties, schedules and routines and how to create a warm, safe environment for your pets. 🐾 Because I work remotely as an author and book editor, I’m able to provide a steady, reassuring presence throughout the day rather than simply stopping in for visits. Whether I’m editing a manuscript from your dining table or writing with a cat asleep beside me, your pets will enjoy quiet companionship and consistent routines. 🐾 I’m new to Rover, but I have more than twenty verified five-star pet-sitting reviews on Trusted Housesitters. Many of my previous Trusted Housesitters clients have been gracious enough to upload their testimonials to Rover. 🐾 Most of my clients are academics, researchers, physicians, writers, and other professionals who travel for conferences, sabbaticals, research, or extended holidays. They aren’t simply looking for someone to feed the pets—they’re looking for complete peace of mind while they’re away. 🐾 Over the past several years I’ve cared for homes and animals in more than ten countries. My experience ranges from city apartments in Boston, Amsterdam, and Paris to historic homes, farms, country cottages, and rural retreats worldwide. 🐾 I’ve cared for rescue animals, blind cats, elderly dogs, anxious pets during thunderstorms and fireworks, post-surgical kittens, and animals requiring medication. I’ve even helped a mother cat give birth. 🐾 Long-term house sitting often involves much more than pet care, and I’m comfortable handling the unexpected with calm professionalism. I’ve managed realtor showings while homeowners were abroad, coordinated with utility workers and neighbors, helped oversee an Airbnb during a plumbing emergency, cared for animals while owners exhibited artwork at an international art fair, and managed the daily operations of farms and historic homes. I enjoy solving problems quietly before they become worries for the people who have entrusted me with their homes. 🐾 Before becoming an editor, I spent twenty years as the spouse of a U.S. Air Force servicemember, an experience that instilled habits of reliability, discretion, punctuality, cleanliness, and adaptability. Living internationally also taught me how to stay calm in unfamiliar situations and make thoughtful decisions when circumstances change unexpectedly. 🐾 Above all, I genuinely love living alongside animals. Some are playful, some are shy, some insist on curling up beside me while I work, and others simply appreciate knowing someone gentle is nearby. Getting to know each of them is one of the greatest pleasures of this work. 🐾 If you’re looking for someone who will care for your home with the same respect she gives her own centuries-old house—and who will care for your pets as cherished companions rather than responsibilities—I would be honored to help. As a freelance book editor and writer, I work remotely and set my own schedule, which allows me to spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. Whether I’m writing from the couch with a cat curled beside me or taking regular breaks for walks, playtime, and companionship, your pets will rarely be left alone for long. Caring for someone’s pet also means caring for their home. After more than twenty successful house sits and dozens of five-star reviews, I’ve developed a reputation for being calm, dependable, tidy, and attentive. I follow routines carefully, communicate promptly, and treat every home with the same respect and care I would hope someone would show mine. My goal is always for owners to return to a happy pet and a home that feels exactly as they left it.
“Rachael has been absolutely amazing with my dog! My pup was a recent rescue that was scared of everything. Rachael spent the first few weeks increasing my dog’s comfort level with her and now my pup LOVES Rachael and gets excited for their daily walk! She’s the only other person that my dog trusts :)”

“Marcy was absolutely excellent! She was incredibly kind, professional, and kept us updated throughout our trip with plenty of messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind. She followed all of our instructions carefully, including giving medication with meals to one of our dogs, and everything was handled perfectly. When we got home, it was obvious our dogs had been well cared for. They were happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great time. The house was spotless too. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking with Marcy again. Highly recommend!”

“Cynthia did a great job taking care of my elderly cat Simon while I was away. He has some specific diet and medication things, and she made sure he was well taken care of. She communicated every day and I knew he was in good hands!”

Heaven was an exceptional house guest and went above and beyond to care for our dog while we were out of town! She was responsive and took extra time to learn our dog’s routine’s, commands, and strategies for his reactivity to other dogs. She also helped with several household tasks like accepting packages and even moved our car for street cleaning! Our apartment was spotless when we came home and our dog was well taken care of. We had a wonderful experience with Heaven and highly recommend her to anyone who wants a detail-oriented and loving person to care for their pet!

Britney was amazing. She saved us at the last minute when our dog sitting plans fell through right before a 9 day trip. She stayed at our home, took Simba on multiple daily walks, and gave him lots of love. She was highly communicative and responsive to all of my many inquires about Simba. Britney went above and beyond, watering our gardens, washing sheets, and making beds. She left our house in pristine condition and most importantly, kept Simba happy and loved during our time away. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, and I recommend her highly!

We had a great experience with Liana! She was very communicative from start to finish and took wonderful care of our dachshund puppy, Louie. We really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away, especially since we don’t leave him often. It was clear Louie was well cared for, got plenty of attention, and was comfortable with her. Liana was also very respectful of our home and left everything exactly as we had left it. We would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Guillermo was wonderful during his week-long stay with our dog Joey! He was very communicative and professional throughout the whole process, sending daily photos and updates. He is also clearly great with animals - Joey was sad to see him leave! I give Guillermo my highest recommendation for in-home dog care.

Jay was WONDERFUL with our dog and I would hire him again in an heartbeat. Our lab is a nervous boy, especially around men. But Jay was patient and loving so he warmed right up. We received lots of cute photos and it was clear that he was relaxed and happy. We had a great vacation knowing our boy was in great care.

Julia was an amazing sitter for Clancy. Since Clancy is a puppy, Julia was very attentive to ensuring he stayed on his schedule and did not get away with bad behavior. It was very clear she had extensive experience taking care of and training dogs. Highly recommend Julia if you are ever looking for a sitter.

Wonderful, trustworthy sitter! She stayed in my apartment with my dog Milo for a weekend and everything went great! I appreciated all of the picture updates which gave me peace of mind. She also left my space very neat when she left. I know my fur baby was well taken care of. I will absolutely rebook!

Kira was amazing with our kitten! she was able to win him over despite him being super shy. She follows protocol very well and kept us up to date with news and photos while we are away. Most importantly, when we came back our kitty was relaxed and comfortable, not stressed from our absence. Highly recommended.

We feel lucky to have had Cindy care for our mini poodle/bichon mix! She was super responsible, positive, punctual and cheerful. She communicated clearly, reliably, and politely. She left our house nice and neat, and regularly sent photos that put our minds at ease.
