“Amanda did an exceptional job taking care of my dog and senior cat while I was away. She has great communication skills and kept me informed about each animal’s wellbeing throughout my trip. She is very detail oriented and made sure she had all the information she needed for the sit. Most importantly, Amanda was amazing with my animals! They both absolutely loved her ( and my cat is very particular about people)! She took time to learn their personalities and spent time with each accordingly. I have never come back to such relaxed, happy animals after a sit! I can’t recommend Amanda highly enough!”

About: I am a recent Simmons School of Library and Information Science graduate, work part time at a library the afternoons, and have been a part of the Somerville (Union Sq.) community since 2023. I've been walking dogs and caring for pets here and there since 2018, and regularly since summer 2025. My experience includes cats ages 1.5-16, dogs ages 10 months-15.5 years, and one rabbit, but open to watching other house pets with instructions. I am able to handle low-moderate difficulty dogs of all sizes, some reactivity ok. I have regular clients that I see for walks, in-house visits, and overnight stays. I am cat and dog first aid and CPR certified and for cats I am able to administer pills and inhalers (no injections). I love all animals, but have found that I am able to befriend most cats in particular. I am communicative with clients, and can send daily photos and pet reports upon request. I look forward to working with you and your pets! Outside of work and my current clients, I am typically available in the mornings 9:30-10:30 or earlier, evenings 5 or later MTW, 6:30 or later Thurs, and 3:30 or later on Fridays. I am able to travel about 30 min by walking or public transit from Union Sq. in the mornings, 30 min by walking or transit from Harvard Sq. or Union Sq. in the evenings, and will consider further locations on Friday afternoons and weekends (probably an hour from Union Sq. max.) I do not offer boarding in my home, but I have done multiple drop-in visits and overnight stays for cats, dogs, and a rabbit. I am tidy and respectful of the homes I visit, and am careful to leave doors locked when I am out. I am communicative and notify pet owners immediately if there are any issues or concerns.

“What can I say? Rosie is an EXCELLENT sitter!! She came to stay with our cat Keani while we went away for 8 days. First of all, she is SO good with our cat who tends to be a little cautious. They became friends right away. She sent photos everyday and I was so happy to see my furbaby looking relaxed and happy 😊 Second, there was a SITUATION in our place while we were away - a situation which was not so pleasant for sure for some people. Rosie contacted me right away and proactively dealt with the situation with my landlord. While all that was happening, she made sure that our cat was safe and happy. We came home and EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAN! Our cat was happy to see us but not like distressed or upset. We are so thankful for her 🙏✨ I can’t say enough good things about Rosie!”

“We found Jalina on Rover, and needed both a housesitter (water plants, take in mail, etc.) as well as taking care of our pup, Ceci who is used to having some work from home and gets anxious in new spaces. Jalina was exceptional in the lead up to the stay; after a 30min video call to get to know each other and review the space (and the pup), we sent over a reference document in advance with specifics, which she reviewed promptly (and had questions on). We had an hour-long visit a few days in advance, split between going for a walk and going over the fiddly house items, which was great. On the day of departure, she arrived promptly, got settled in, and we went to the airport. We got daily updates on the dog, and Ceci seemed to have a lovely time with her, in her own space and her own routine; Jalina made sure she was very well cared for! Due to a delayed flight, we didn’t have any crossover of us getting back and her leaving, but we coordinated via messaging (super prompt) and we came back to our space just as we left it. Based on this stay with us, we’d recommend Jalina to anyone!”

About: I have had dogs and cats my entire life, and have walked neighbors' dogs and watched their hamsters, Guinea pigs, and cats since I was 9! I have experience with every type of pet, from puppies to senior cats, and would love to show your animal some love :) I have had the privilege of volunteering with Broken Tail Rescue weekly for over a year, so I am very well-versed in caring for all kinds of cats and dogs. I am a grad student at Harvard University and have a very flexible schedule. I can be available at most reasonable times, just reach out!
