“It was a pleasure to meet Ashley, and I couldn't have asked for better care for Miley, our pup. Ashley walked her several times a day, encouraged me to bring Miley's bed and comfort items to make the home familiar and comfortable, and sent pictures during the week. We returned home to a dog that was happy to see us, but clearly comfortable and well cared for. Our thanks to Ashley, we will look forward to having her care for Miley in the future.”
“Absolutely stellar experience with boarding my dog! I could tell immediately by the questions that were asked before the stay that Hyeyoon was going to take great care of my dog. I got regular updates while I was on vacation and always got prompt responses when arranging pick up. Highly recommend!”

“As a several times over repeat customer, I could not be more pleased with the care my dog gets from Colleen and Joe. I feel so comfortable leaving her with them, I can just fully focus on my trip. Many nice updates, great communication, friendly and kind people. Highly, highly recommend!”

“I couldn’t have found a better person to take care of my Cavapoo while I was away. Angela took such good care of him for 5 days and kept me updated with details of his daily activities. I loved the photographs and descriptions she sent which put my mind at ease. I did worry that he wouldn’t want to leave. 😊”

“Good communication and friendly. Our dog was happy and well-cared for. He also spent time with two kids in the house, and they were very respectful of him; playing and loving on him.”

“Nickolai was extremely responsive, professional, and considerate. My dog loved the large backyard and resident dog, and was well-cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Nickolai again”

“I can tell my dog had a great stay with Sonny, and I appreciate her schedule flexibility and text updates with photos! I would definitely book another stay with Sonny for my pup in the future.”

“Linda helped us out when we had to leave town last minute. She sent us pictures, detailed responses, and showed care in all the ways you’d want an individual watching your fur baby to do so. Thank you, Linda! Lola loves you and she has a new home away from home.”

“Ashlie was attentive and very easy to coordinate with. My dog can be anxious with separations and Ashlie made sure she was comfortable and well loved while we were away!”

“Jessica and Grant took wonderful care of our golden retriever while we were away. They sent frequent updates and photos and gave her lots of exercise. She was happy and healthy when we picked her up. We would gladly use them again.”

“Holly was so wonderful! She took the best care of our girl while we were on vacation. She sent lots of pictures and updates and made our dog feel right at home! I would definitely recommend and will for sure book with here again!”

“Huxley had a great time with Annette, when we decided on a last minute stop in Minneapolis on our road trip to take in a Twins game. Annette was a great communicator, and if we lived in the area, would definitely use Annette again!”

“We appreciated the care Taylor gave to our Sr dog Birdie, including giving her pills for a bladder infection and putting up with extra accidents as a result. We also appreciated the updates and pictures. Taylor is a pro.”
“Erin took amazing care of scooby! He was super comfortable staying with her and had a lot of fun as evidenced by her twice daily picture/ video updates. I could tell he loved her when I picked him up on the last day! Thanks Erin!”

“Tanya is not only a fun spirited person, she is so sweet with dogs. I highly recommend her - she’s extremely flexible and a great communicator. She took care of our Maltese and sent pictures so we could stay connected to our pooch.”

“Justin was great! Had a sitter cancel on short notice and Justin was able to pick up a last minute 10 day stay. Sally (my dog) was excited to see me when I came to pick her up, but also ran back to Justin a few times, which speaks plainly to me that she enjoyed her stay!”

“Robert was such a great dogsitter that when I went to pick my dog up he just turned around and walked back into Robert's house! I think he would have stayed forever. I got regular updates with pictures and video and everything seemed to go really well. Would absolutely book Robert again!!”

“Dear McKenzie, thank you so much for caring for our pup Queen. I loved seeing the pictures. I know she had a great time. You did a great job. Thank you for giving her, her medicine properly. That was smart of you to cut her veggie ears in pieces to treat her more times. I never thought of that. We are lucky to have found you and I didn’t worry too much on our vacation, we will definitely stay with you again. Thank you so much! Michael and Nancy and Queen. So conveniently located near our home too”

“Aastha and Dan were phenomenal. Our dog gets very anxious at drop-off, and they went above and beyond to ease his transition and make him feel at home. Aastha sent many pictures and messages throughout each day and they were incredibly considerate and attentive to our dog, especially over Fourth of July fireworks. We weren't sure if he would want to come home, he was having such fun with Aastha and Dan! Highly recommend -- they will be our first choice for boarding in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Louis Park
Kelly & Zac were wonderful hosts! I'd never left my dog Cooper with someone other than family, and was a bit nervous to do so. Kelly put me at ease right away. She happily scheduled a meet & greet where it became obvious Cooper would be happy to stay with them. Drop off and pickup were easy. I got daily updates, and prompt responses to any messages I sent from beginning to end. When I picked Cooper up, it was clear he had enjoyed his time with Kelly & Zac. He got time to chase chipmunks, daily walks and snuggles--all his favorite things! I would be very happy to have them care for him again in the future.

Meggie is so sweet and took great care of our puppy boys over a long weekend! I could tell she made them feel comfortable and at home their whole stay. They absolutely loved hanging out in her yard. I appreciated how she communicated with us right away when they were showing some unusual symptoms their first couple of days so we could figure out what was going on. After they settled in, all was great the rest of their stay. We got lots of adorable pictures along the way. Also, when we forgot some Kongs, she was kind enough to meet us in the middle to save us part of the drive to pick them up. Overall, a stellar experience!

Sasha took such great care of our dog and he clearly enjoyed his stay with Sasha, Lana, and the family for the two weeks we were gone. This was the first time our boy had to be away for an extended period of time and we were obviously a little nervous about how well he'd settle in. Sasha gave us constant updates and totally put us at ease. It was apparent that our boy had had a great vacation and really enjoyed the time with Lana. I can't recommend Sasha highly enough and will definitely book again.

This was my dog’s first time staying in someone else’s home while I traveled. She is an anxious dog so I was worried about leaving her! Howie was very reassuring and took time to learn how to make Bindi comfortable. He sent me photos while I was gone and Bindi did great! Thank you Howie and Betsy for taking good care of my best friend!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
