“Betsy is amazing!! My dog requires extra patience as he does not like other dogs and can be a handful on walks/bathroom breaks. Betsy has a lot of experience with dogs who don’t like other dogs and does a great job understanding his needs. She was so kind and so sweet with Gus. She also kept us updated and sent pictures, which definitely helped me with my anxiety of leaving him for the weekend. She was extremely flexible with drop off and pick up times which also made our time away that much more enjoyable. Her and her husband are so kind and I would recommend her to anyone! Especially if you’re nervous about leaving a dog with specific needs. We will be sure to bring Gus back to see her.”
“They did such a great job taking care of Pumpkin! They sent great pictures, and appeared to appreciate his quirky personality. We knew he was in good care!”

“Indi had another great stay with Caro! He clearly feels loved at her house. I got the sense the whole fam had been on vacay — us in CA and Indi at Caro’s.”

“Holly is fantastic! She made Zelda feel right at home and gave her attentive and loving care while we were gone for the week. She provided great communication leading up to Zelda’s stay and sent updates and pictures while we were away. Holly is clearly an experienced and compassionate dog caregiver and we felt very confident our dog was in wonderful hands!”

“Luna seemed well taken care of. Love that they had a pool day while she was there, she loves water! I got lots of photos which were so appreciated. Would use Mckenzie again!”

“It was a pleasure to meet Ashley, and I couldn't have asked for better care for Miley, our pup. Ashley walked her several times a day, encouraged me to bring Miley's bed and comfort items to make the home familiar and comfortable, and sent pictures during the week. We returned home to a dog that was happy to see us, but clearly comfortable and well cared for. Our thanks to Ashley, we will look forward to having her care for Miley in the future.”
“Robert was great with our family dog Izzy. She is truly a member of our family and we always feel bad leaving her behind when we go out of town and Robert did a wonderful job sending pictures and videos to let us know how she is doing. Would definitely recommend Robert and plan on using him again in the future.”

“Colleen and Joe took amazing care of our dog, Tobi! I felt very comfortable, leaving him in their care. They even went above and beyond to send pictures and give Tobi a bath after a long day outside. Will absolutely use them in the future!”
“Anika was outstanding and exactly the reason why we use Rover. She let us come for a meet and greet before our trip, and provided daily updates on how our dog was adjusting. It was clear that he was enjoying himself and making himself at home, which gave us the peace of mind to really relax and have a great vacation. Anika was the perfect hostess and we would go back to her without hesitation. Thank you so much for taking great care of Sampson!”

“Our dogs had the best time staying with Aastha and Daniel! We received multiple photos and updates daily and I was totally at ease knowing they were getting plenty of exercise and attention. My dogs have never been exposed to cats so I wasn't sure how boarding them in a home with cats would go. But their home was so well equipped to keep the cats separated. They have a big beautiful sun room in the back of their home that can be closed off as well as a lower level that can be closed off. They also have a large fenced in backyard where my pups thoroughly enjoyed playing fetch during Daniel and Aastha's work breaks. The best part was knowing that Daniel and Aastha mostly work from home. Our dogs are used to people being around so this was a huge bonus! Our younger dog can have some anxious tendencies that affect her eating and her GI and she had no issues during our 5 day trip. We will definitely book them again and cannot recommend them enough!”

“Joayne and her children are the perfect home-away-from-home for my pug. They take such good care of him and give him lots of love. He loves them back! I’m so grateful they are providing this service.”

“This was my first time leaving my pup with anyone other than friends/family and Kevin made our stay so easy. He was communicative and took great care of my little guy and I couldn't have asked for a better first dog sitting experience!”

“Abi was fantastic! Not only was she so sweet with my dog, Hudson, but she was just so helpful in the process. I felt like I didn’t need to worry about anything while I was traveling and she sent me regular updates and pictures and videos. Hudson has a great time and if definitely have Abi sit for him again.”

“Linda did great with Freyja. We did a meet and greet prior to the stay to make sure everyone got along, lots of pictures were sent during the stay, and Freyja came home happy and healthy. Linda has been caring for dogs for a long time and I trust her thoughts on dog care a lot!”
“Loki had a great time with Daisy. I got pictures and updates daily and it looked like he was having fun with the other dogs she was boarding, and playing fetch. Daisy was flexible with dropoff and pickup times providing a little extra peace of mind in case of flight delays getting back.”

“Jessie was great! She watched my two dogs Violet and Kala and they had a great time and got lots of snuggles. She gave me updates and pictures everyday which really helped put me at ease while I was away.”

“Myria was a great dog sitter. She is very friendly/ communicates well. She watched my 9 month old puppy for 10 days and I felt very comfortable leaving her with Myria and her family. I highly recommend her.”

Theresa and her husband did a wonderful job taking care of my pup ! Theresa sent daily photos and did daily grooming with my dog which was so appreciated. They were flexible with both my drop off and pick up times which I also greatly appreciated . I could tell my dog had had a great time when I came to pick her up and —she was in a no big hurry to go home with me !!! I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend !
Linda was wonderful with Cooper! She was caring, reliable, and very flexible with timing, which I really appreciated. The daily updates were also really nice and gave me peace of mind. I felt at ease knowing Cooper was in great hands. I’d definitely book with Linda again!

Amy and Petunia took amazing care of my puppy while I was away in the Boundary Waters for 4 days. It was such a relief when I got back to a happy pup who was sad to leave her new buddies! Amy was so patient with sending updates via satellite phone and a later than expected pickup time when we didn't get back into town until late. Would highly recommend!

Meggie is so sweet and took great care of our puppy boys over a long weekend! I could tell she made them feel comfortable and at home their whole stay. They absolutely loved hanging out in her yard. I appreciated how she communicated with us right away when they were showing some unusual symptoms their first couple of days so we could figure out what was going on. After they settled in, all was great the rest of their stay. We got lots of adorable pictures along the way. Also, when we forgot some Kongs, she was kind enough to meet us in the middle to save us part of the drive to pick them up. Overall, a stellar experience!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
