“Dustin took care of my dog Dudley while I was out of town for the weekend. He was easy to communicate with and kept me up to date with pictures and videos. We will be back!”

“I knew immediately when we met Colleen and Joe that our dog Jack would be in amazing hands. I felt so at ease Jack’s entire 10 day stay thanks to the great communication and picture updates. Jack was clearly living his best life on their comfy couch and in their sunny, beautiful backyard, and it melted my heart to see Jack bonding with his new BFF Nico!! We are so incredibly grateful to have found such kind people to care for our fur baby, and wouldn’t hesitate to book again and again!! Thanks Colleen, Joe and Nico!”

“Shreya watched my 4 year old Bernedoodle for 10 days. From the meet and greet, I could tell he would be in good, attentive hands. When I went to pick him up, he stood in the foyer with an “I live here now” look on his face. Clearly, he had a good time! My return flight was delayed and Shreya was very accommodating with modifying pickup. The videos she sent helped put my dog-mom heart at ease. I highly recommend Shreya to care for your fur babies!”

“Nickolai was very communicative and responsive. We received pictures of our girl and updates throughout her stay with Nickolai. The home has a very large fenced-in backyard which our dog enjoyed immensely. We mentioned that our dog is accustomed to going on walks and Nickolai was kind enough to take her out for walks around the neighborhood.”

“Ramanda and her family took incredible care of Wrigley when we were out of town. They sent pictures throughout his stay and he was active and loved on the entire time. He had an unexpected medical emergency while in their care and they acted swiftly to get him the attention he needed to save his life. We are so appreciative of their care and support!”
“Maria is great… she accommodated me for a last minute weekend for a funeral that we needed to attend. She was patient with my dog and showed h lots of love”

“Brenda and Alvin were great. They have a large fenced yard for my puppy to play in. I really appreciated the daily updates with pictures. Bailey was well taken care of.”

“Kyle was great! He has an awesome fenced in backyard for dogs like mine who have high energy and need room to run. My dog Marvel also needs a couple minutes to warm up to new dogs and Kyle handled introductions really well. He also helped administer some daily medication he needed without any hesitation on the special request. Marvel came home happy and tired from all of the playing with Coco and the other dogs there. Would book again!”

“Debbie and Theo were fantastic hosts to our doodle, Fitz! This was our first time using Rover and leaving our 10 yr. Old doggie with someone outside the family. Debbie was a great communicator with regular updates and pics. You can feel reassured your pup will be loved and cared for by Debbie. Highly recommend!”

“Jennifer was accommodating, quick to respond, and provided updates along the way. My pooch came home happy and tired and with a few new friends (Jennifer and family).”

“Another great stay. Glenn got to see one of his dog friends too!! Boarding and day care with Yuliya has helped Glenn better interact and communicate with other dogs.”

“Renae and her family were great. My dog Blue stayed with them for 6 days while I was in Europe. Renae was extremely responsive and sent photo updates of my dog almost every day! And even when Blue had separation anxiety and didn’t want to eat her food, they went out of their way to add little treats on her food to entice her to eat. They played with her and walked her, and snuggled on the couch. Blue had a great time and we would definitely book Renae again.”

“Erin was an amazing pet sitter for our two dogs and went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and cared for while we were gone. Our dogs LOVED running around in her big backyard, and getting to make themselves at home on her furniture. Erin's two dogs also got along really well with our dogs. We appreciated getting pictures and videos every day to let us know our girls were doing well. We would definitely use Erin again to watch our doggies!”

“Korina and Jerell were amazing! They sent so many great photos and videos while watching my dog. They were always available to communicate and understanding when my dog needed some extra care. Whenever we need to leave our dog with anyone in the future we will definitely see if they are available. Thanks so much for watching and taking great care of Bonnie!”

“Susie was great! Hank had a wonderful time playing with her dog, and another dog she was sitting. He came home wiped out from all the running around in her backyard.”

“We are so pumped we found someone to trust our sensitive, teddy-bear of a pitty with when we travel! Jacquie and her hubby are true animal lovers and took care of our Cowboy just as if he was their own. I could tell when I arrived to pick him up that he was comfortable and at ease in their home. I fully trust them and would highly recommend them, especially if you have a sensitive pup that can get home sick!”

“They were great. We left our dog for 2 1/2 months and they handled everything. Kind and generous and very caring. I would recommend them to anyone as the perfect pet sitters. .”

“Emily was absolutely amazing with our dog, Roxie! She was very upfront in warning us that her dog, Elliot, can come on a little strong at first (which he definitely did lol) but he and Roxie became best friends almost immediately after. Emily sent tons of pictures and videos throughout the stay, which made us feel so comfortable knowing Roxie was happy and having fun. It was obvious from every update how much Roxie loved her. We would absolutely trust Emily with Roxie again and highly recommend her!”

Amanda was fantastic. I really appreciated the multiple updates which helped put my mind to ease while I was away, it looked like my dog had a blast in the pictures and fit right in with their family. The fenced in yard was a big bonus! Quick to respond to all communication, highly recommend :)

Aastha and Dan were phenomenal. Our dog gets very anxious at drop-off, and they went above and beyond to ease his transition and make him feel at home. Aastha sent many pictures and messages throughout each day and they were incredibly considerate and attentive to our dog, especially over Fourth of July fireworks. We weren't sure if he would want to come home, he was having such fun with Aastha and Dan! Highly recommend -- they will be our first choice for boarding in the future.

Cassidy was wonderful to work with. It was nice to meet Cassidy and her dogs beforehand to make sure everyone got along well. Great communication throughout and daily pictures were sent, which was really nice. I’d highly recommend Cassidy for future dog sitting needs!!

Sue was great! My dog loved her and was happy. She cares deeply for her pets. My dog had a refusal of his chow while there. She totally accommodated him with veggies he loves and eggs. I would highly recommend her services. She’s caring about her neighbors and a wonderful person.

Marla is our #1 choice for Finley when we travel. She sends fun photos and well-being reports daily. Finley loves being around the cats (though they won't always play her dog-games!). The fenced-in yard means she gets outside plenty. She gets a daily walk in the neighborhood and lots of love at the house.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
