“It is hard to leave your dog for an extended vacation. Yet, when Zoey is with Dustin we never worry. We could not recommend anyone any higher. Dustin is the best.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Shreya. She boarded our dog for a full week and treated him like family. She was attentive, patient, and very communicative, sending frequent updates and photos. Our dog came back relaxed and happy, which says everything. It’s clear she genuinely loves dogs. We will definitely use her services again and strongly recommend her.”

“He was nice, flexible and helpful. He sent pictures, asked questions and gave me an update. He allowed us to do an initial visit, had SunBear’s things waiting and brought them to the car. Thank you”

“Debbie is a great! She is very friendly and kept us well informed while we were away, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Her dog Theo got along well with Tessa, which made the stay even better. We would definitely trust and enjoy having Debbie watch Tessa again!”
“Maria is the best! Our 12 yr old labradoodle has been with Maria for 2 week stays for the past several years. Maria sends us updates daily and is great at communicating. I know your dog is well taken care of and comes home happy everytime. I highly recommend Maria!”

“Our dog, Leia, had a great time staying with Cassidy! Leia can have separation anxiety in new places, but felt completely comfortable at Cassidy’s house and loved playing with her two dogs all week. Thanks Cassidy for making Leia feel right at home!”

“My herding dog came back from her stay happily tuckered out - a rare occurrence! Jacqui and Kyle took great care of my dog, who made sure to say goodbye to Kyle when we picked her up, which she usually never does. My pup was clearly very happy with them, and I will absolutely be booking again.”

“Erin and Ramon cared for our two little dogs and did an amazing job. They are fully set up in their home to care for little dogs and they are so knowledgeable because of their own dogs. Our older dog can sometimes be slow to eat and they took their time with him and made sure he got what he needed. Our younger dog is terrified of many things and they were kind and patient with all the fireworks over the holiday. We will definitely have Erin and Ramon watch our dogs again. They are great.”

“Kyle and his wife were very friendly and took great care of my Gracie. This was her first boarding experience and she was a bit of a nervous Nelly but they were wonderful with her.”

“Emily is one of a kind. As it was our first time using Rover and having a puppy, we were a little shy about it at first, but Emily made us feel comfortable about everything! We did a meet-up a few days before scheduling to confirm it was a good match. It definitely was! She asked us many questions and also let us ask questions about everything, which made us feel more at ease. Throughout the stay, Emily kept us updated on how our puppy was eating and how he was getting along with her own dogs. She also asked us during the stay if it was okay to bring him to certain places, and that was great! Let’s just say our little pup is going to miss the new best friends he made until next time. Emily is so sweet, kind, and caring! We will definitely be having Emily babysit our baby boy again! We recommend her to anyone who needs a dog sitter, and if you are worried about a puppy needing to be babysat, I can assure you that Emily is amazing.”

“Our dog had a wonderful time with Taylor and her husband! Taylor sent daily photos of his playtime and nap time. This is the first time that we have used Rover and were impressed with how easy it was to find the right home for boarding while we were on vacation, with the “Meet and Greet “ being the best way to decide. We will definitely use Taylor again— she was flexible and clearly caring for our pup!”

“We highly recommend Brenda and Al! Great communication, flexible and took exceptional care of our big guy. It was so nice to go on vacation and know he was with genuine and good people who cared for him like he was their own! Thank you!! Steve and Laurie”

“Korina is awesome! This is the second time she’s watched Penny, and Penny has had a blast there. Korina sends pictures, talks about how the dog is doing/any concerns that she has (Penny has allergies), etc. 5/5. Highly recommend!”

“Our pup fit right in to Annalise's family and had a great time. Annalise is very responsive, flexible, experienced with dogs, and delightful ! She took especially good care of our pup during a heat wave. Her large fenced yard is perfect for our pup to explore and play with her pup. We will definitely come again!”

Promise took such great care of my dog, Toro! I received multiple VERY cute photos and videos throughout his stay and he looked like he was having a great time. He loves other dogs and was delighted to get to play with other dogs Promise was caring for. We will definitely bring Toro to her again next time we need a sitter!

Sue was great! My dog loved her and was happy. She cares deeply for her pets. My dog had a refusal of his chow while there. She totally accommodated him with veggies he loves and eggs. I would highly recommend her services. She’s caring about her neighbors and a wonderful person.

Manami was wonderful to communicate with and i appreciated the updates she provided while Judy was in her care. Judy appeared to have a great time. I greatly appreciated Manami being able to take Judy on short notice and was easy to work with in terms of drop off and pick up times. Highly recommend her.

Marla is our #1 choice for Finley when we travel. She sends fun photos and well-being reports daily. Finley loves being around the cats (though they won't always play her dog-games!). The fenced-in yard means she gets outside plenty. She gets a daily walk in the neighborhood and lots of love at the house.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
