“Kathryn took great care of Moose! She provided regular updates over the weekend and he came home happy and tired from playing with her resident pups.”

“Holly provided exceptional care for our dog Cali over a week-long trip. Cali has difficultly with transitions and being in new spaces without us, but it was clear Holly provided a very safe and loving home away from home for her—going well above and beyond to make sure she was pampered. We are so grateful for Holly in our lives and would highly recommend her.”

“Ana was wonderful with my little dog, Mabel! From the meet and greet to the pick up, Ana communicate with me and was flexible to work with. My dog came home happy and healthy. I would definitely recommend Ana”

“Our dog Rio had a BLAST with Rachelle and Dan. They were very detailed oriented when it came to Rio’s special needs. They also sent the perfect amount of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Definitely will book again!”

“Deanna was awesome in every way: great caretaker for my young energetic pug; a very good communicator; asked questions about Kiley's care, needs and behaviors; made me feel like Kiley was safe and well cared for; sent pictures and answered questions that i had. I would use her again if i could:)”

“Howie and his wife took wonderful care of our 9-month-old puppy, Dexter. This was our first time boarding Dexter, so we were, admittedly, a little nervous about leaving him anywhere. Howie took the role of watching Dexter seriously, and we felt good about leaving Dexter with him. His professionalism and thorough communication eased our nerves. We know Dexter had a wonderful time because he came home a happy and tired pup! We will certainly use Howie again in the future and know Dexter will be excited about it, too. :)”
“I could tell Tanya was a dog lover from the moment we met at a meet and greet with her Charlie. I felt so comfortable leaving our 2 senior dogs there knowing they would be in great care! She sent pictures and updates daily! We will definitely book with her again.”
“Robert was great with our family dog Izzy. She is truly a member of our family and we always feel bad leaving her behind when we go out of town and Robert did a wonderful job sending pictures and videos to let us know how she is doing. Would definitely recommend Robert and plan on using him again in the future.”

About: Hello! We are a 2-person, child-free household and currently do not have any pets. We love dogs! We also understand the difficulty of finding boarding for reactive, elderly, sick, and diet-specific dogs. So we are here to meet that need! We would love to watch your extra-special needy pup and give them a vacation during your vacation! Professional and volunteer experience: - 3 years animal rescue and surrender employee experience at the Animal Humane Society. - Volunteer with AHS pet behavior and training courses. -Team Lead for Pinups for Pitbulls advocacy organization. Non-professional experience: - Raised with multiple large dogs in home. - 8 year dog owners navigating life with velcro-dog health issues and reactive dog training. - Regular dog sitter for friends and family. Sitting for multiple dogs at a time, dogs with special diets, health needs, and anxiety or reactivity. special note: We are not professional animal trainers and can not handle dogs who are actively aggressive towards men or other people (reactivity that can be solved by appropriate introduction is fine). Our work from home schedules are flexible with enough notice. When your pet is with us, we will be sure our schedules allow for the safest supervision of your dog. We are child free! Although we may need to leave the home for life things like groceries or meetings, we will do what we can to reduce your dog's alone time as much as possible, especially if they have separation anxiety. After all, they should be on vacation when you're on vacation! Our beloved now-passed Pit/Cattle Dog mix taught us a lot about patience and love. But finding boarding for him was always very difficult - he was overstimulated at doggie daycares, had a special diet, and needed a quiet home. That is what we are here for - we're here for the pups who need a house and need to be the only animal in the home. We are here for your senior dogs, your sick dogs, and your reactive/ scaredy-dogs. Our house is small, open, dog-proofed, and we have a fully privacy-fenced back yard that we will always supervise your dog in. We can walk your dog minimum once a day, and we love to give car rides if the dog likes them too (doggy seatbelt included!). We have different types of gates to adjust to each dog's individual needs (or no gates!). If your dog is crate-trained, please bring their crate with them, and their favorite blanket or toy. We are very comfortable with administering meds! Cancer meds, subdermal shots, cheese balls, or even the classic "rub the throat" trick. We will take all the photos and send all of them to you. We will update you at least once a day with updates or funny stories about your pup's adventures. We have a toy bucket for every pup to help themselves to! PupCups are included if owner-approved! Finally, we will shower your pup with love!
“Hyeyoon was wonderful! She followed our dog’s daily routine to a tee and asked such thoughtful questions. We received pictures and updates each day. We will definitely use her again!”

“Amanda and Leif are absolutely amazing!!!! They responded to us so quickly to doggy-sit our Rott/Shepherd mix (Bear) while we went on a family vacation. They asked all the appropriate questions and it was very clear they wanted to make Bear feel at home while we were away. They were responsive, flexible, communicative, and so friendly!! We got several picture updates while on our trip and it made us feel so comfortable with being away. Bear looked so comfortable and happy in the pictures. He was taken on so many walks and played with… We could tell he was shown so much love! When we picked him up, he was still giving love to Amanda! And she was soooo great in the information she shared with us and it reassured us that they all had a great time together. We are so thankful as this is our first Rover experience with Bear. Because of how awesome Amanda and Leif were, we are totally going to be back! If you’re thinking of booking your pup to be with them, absolutely do!!”

“Liss was extremely flexible and such a perfect person for our slightly anxious Yorkie. Her gentle and relaxed way was perfect for our little guy hoping to have Joey stay with her again.”

“Helga was amazing! I felt really comfortable leaving Callie with her and could tell she was being well taken care of. Helga sent us photo updates which was really great! We will definitely use her services again in the future.”

“Ashlie and her family was able to take care of my giant baby for a week. It was his first time away from me and I was worried as well. But as Ashlie shared updates everyday it helped me feeling relieved and I could enjoy my time away from home. They have a big fenced yard and a senior dog which I felt was a good experience for my puppy as he was afraid of older dogs before meeting him. I could see them cuddling in the pictures and I feel he really enjoyed his stay with them.”

“Maeby ended up not staying because she didn't get along well with the other dogs boarding that weekend. Doc was very nice and honest about the whole thing, and I appreciate him protecting all the dog's safety.”

“Kaylee was a wonderful sitter for miko! She was both kind and attentive to all his needs especially as a wheelchair pup. She always checked in with me and gave me updates on his care. She’s such a sweet person and I think any pup that stays with her will like her!”

“Foxy loved spending the night with Jeanne and Rita! They are so loving and I felt very comfortable leaving my fur baby with them. They sent updates and cute pictures throughout his stay. I will definitely ask them to watch Foxy again ♥️”

“Nicole and David are so sweet and my dogs loved staying with them! Their two dogs are great with other dogs as well. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a sitter.”

Allison was wonderful to work with. She sent us 2 photos of our dog daily, and also videos. She was always very prompt to respond to messages, and very friendly. Our dog came home happy and relaxed! We will definitely be using Allison again to watch our dog is she is available!

McKenzie made leaving town without our 7 month pup very easy. Drop-off and pick-up was simple, we changed our dates of care and McKenzie was quick to respond and very accommodating. We got some fun photos on the 4th of July which gave us good peace of mind that he was being well taken care of.

Cait watched our young dog for 12 days, and we could not have asked for a better sitter for him! Excellent communication and updates throughout our trip helped us to relax, knowing he was being well taken care of. He got walks, enrichment toys, playtime with her other Rover dogs and lots of attention. When he had a couple of unexpected moments of destructive chewing, Cait implemented appropriate changes to his care. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cait to anyone looking for a dog sitter!

Tyler is an outstanding Rover host and has truly spoiled both our family and our two dogs! He’s extremely proactive with communication, keeping us updated with photos, videos, walks and playtime throughout their stay. We also appreciated his calm demeanor and his easygoing dog, Ava, who was a great companion for our pups. Tyler provides exceptional care from start to finish, and we look forward to booking with him again!

We couldn’t be happier with Amy’s care for our dog, Valencia! While we were on vacation, she went above and beyond, sending us regular photos so we could see Valencia was happy, safe, and having a blast. It gave us such peace of mind. Amy’s care was truly amazing, and we will absolutely book with her again!

I can’t recommend Brooke enough! This was Archie’s first stay with a sitter since our move, and I was honestly so nervous leaving him. From the moment I met her, I knew he was in great hands. She kept me updated throughout his stay, and it was such a relief knowing he was safe, loved, and treated like one of her own. Archie settled in so well, ate all of his meals, and even made himself at home (including sleeping in bed with her 😂), which says so much about the environment she provides. As a flight attendant, finding someone I can truly trust with my dog while I’m away is invaluable, and I’m so incredibly thankful I found Brooke. She is kind, communicative, and genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. Archie came home happy, relaxed, and I already know she’ll be my go-to sitter moving forward. If you’re looking for someone to care for your pet like family, I wholeheartedly recommend her! Thank you again, Brooke! ❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
