“Amanda and Leif are absolutely amazing!!!! They responded to us so quickly to doggy-sit our Rott/Shepherd mix (Bear) while we went on a family vacation. They asked all the appropriate questions and it was very clear they wanted to make Bear feel at home while we were away. They were responsive, flexible, communicative, and so friendly!! We got several picture updates while on our trip and it made us feel so comfortable with being away. Bear looked so comfortable and happy in the pictures. He was taken on so many walks and played with… We could tell he was shown so much love! When we picked him up, he was still giving love to Amanda! And she was soooo great in the information she shared with us and it reassured us that they all had a great time together. We are so thankful as this is our first Rover experience with Bear. Because of how awesome Amanda and Leif were, we are totally going to be back! If you’re thinking of booking your pup to be with them, absolutely do!!”

“Jennifer is just a sweetheart. She has been so loving at my pups and so understanding with my needs. Though I am late picking up my boys, she made adjustment on her priorities just to give time for me for picking up. Thanks Jennifer. See you on our next booking. ☺️”

“Annette is a great sitter who shared lots of updates and pictures. She took our dog on plenty of walks, and clearly gave her a ton of love. We look forward to using her services in the future.”

“Susie was great - really responsive and a batch of pictures every day showing our pup on walks, getting cuddles and playing. Gave us great peace of mind!”

“Liss was extremely flexible and such a perfect person for our slightly anxious Yorkie. Her gentle and relaxed way was perfect for our little guy hoping to have Joey stay with her again.”

“Dee is wonderful! She was so kind and patient with my senior dog. I could tell that he was happy and well taken care of during his stay! I will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Second time sitting for my dog, Haru. Friendly and a good away getaway for my dog to stay social and be surrounding by ppl, another fur companion, and fenced back yard while I am away on my travels so she isn’t depressed and preoccupied socially. 😊”

“Julie, Ben & family were amazing caregivers!!! Goldie had a great time at their house & we loved getting updates and pictures during her stay! Thank you Julie, Ben & the kids!!!”

“Our dog had a great time with Lydia - he was excited to see us on pick up but also wanted to stay :) Lydia sent a lot of pictures and kept us updated on Allen when we were away. We just hope she’s available the next time we can’t take our dog with us somewhere.”

“Jessica and Grant took wonderful care of our golden retriever while we were away. They sent frequent updates and photos and gave her lots of exercise. She was happy and healthy when we picked her up. We would gladly use them again.”

“Eileen is the best!! A true dog lover! She sends the best pictures and did whatever she could to make make my baby comfortable. She treating my dog like her own. Couldn’t have been more reprieved and happy to find such a great sitter.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Alecia and Todd made it a great experience! Their communication was great and we received updates throughout her stay. Our dog is getting older, so she sometimes needs a little extra love and attention, but Alicia and Todd made sure she was comfortable and happy throughout. Highly recommended!”

“Shannon is awesome and we don’t book a vacation unless she is available. We have used her many times, but this time she had the additional challenge of Jake having surgery about 2 weeks prior and still needing pain medication. We trust that she can handle anything that happens, as she saved our dog’s life when she recognized bloat.”
“We had such a wonderful experience with Brian watching our puppy while we were out of town. It was both our first time leaving our puppy and our first time using Rover, so needless to say, we were a little anxious, but Brian promptly and patiently answered all my questions (both leading up to our trip and while we were gone) and was so reassuring! He sent daily updates (not only lots of pictures, which were such a comfort, but also notes about what our puppy did that day and how he was eating/sleeping/doing) so we were actually able to enjoy our trip knowing our puppy was having tons of fun, too! We came home to a very happy puppy and we will be using Brian again. Can't recommend him enough!”

“Filbert had a great time with Stacy! Filbert loved playing with Bruce and enjoyed walking (and also mostly sitting stubbornly) with Stacy! I was nervous because sometimes Filbert can be reactive on a leash, but Stacy has quite a bit of experience with big dogs and potential barking at other four-leggeds. Not only did she not have a problem, but I was relieved, and it helped me enjoy our trip! Filbert was nervous when he first arrived, and Stacy took time to check in with me and was patient with Filbert while he warmed up. It was Filbert's first time away from us without his sister (who passed recently), and having Bruce and other buddies there to play with was really good for him! I also noted that when he got home, he was relaxed and tired, which is how I know he had a great time! We would highly recommend Stacy!”

“Our 10 month old puppy spent a great week with Howie and his wife! Howie was very easy (and quick!) to communicate with before and during her stay. We appreciated the daily updates and pics. You could tell she was truly treated as part of the family and well cared for. We would recommend Howie to others and would definitely have Rory stay again!”

“Saniya did a great job watching our dog Wally! We can tell he felt loved and received a lot of attention and cuddles. Also she was great at sending pictures of the pup. Would highly recommend her!”

Lucky had a great time with River! Additionally, River made it a great experience for us - incredibly responsive and communicative, ready outside when we dropped off and ready with all her things at pickup. It all went so smoothly! This was our first time using Rover and it was a resounding success.

McKenzie was absolutely wonderful with our golden retrievers, Hamilton and Mulligan. Her communication was fantastic from start to finish, she provided regular updates and sent the sweetest pictures. Our boys looked so happy, relaxed, and completely at ease in every photo. It gave us so much peace of mind while traveling. She was easy to work with, flexible, and clearly cared about making sure our boys felt comfortable and loved. We will definitely be booking with McKenzie again the next time we travel. Highly recommend her!

Tyler did a tremendous job sitting Moose. I got at least a couple pictures per day and I can tell Moose had fun, and was safe. Tyler was so accommodating of my changing schedule, and was prepared at each hand-off. Communication was great overall. Thanks for keeping Moosey safe!

I’m so glad we left our dog with Jon for the weekend! We had a great meet and greet, and our dogs became fast friends. He was flexible with our schedule, sent updates and pictures every day, and Teagan seemed to have a great time hanging out with him and his dog. Would recommend!

Kelly took such great care of Pepper for her very first Rover stay ever and made us feel so comfortable leaving her for the weekend. She is very experienced and did a great job helping Pepper socialize with other dogs, too! She was exhausted when she got home and had such a fun time. We already booked with Kelly again for our next trip!

Amanda was amazing at taking care of our dog Buster! She was super helpful and flexible when our flight was cancelled at the last minute, which was such a relief to know Buster was in good hands while we had to figure out our way home. We will definitely use Amanda again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
