Availability

I am retired and free of distractions when dogs are in my care. While I take the lead as "dog master," my girlfriend also assists as her schedule allows. Aside from physical activity outdoors like walks or chilling out with me and Henry, my gregarious Black Lab, in our backyard, and in the house we'll always be in the same room - or wherever the dog prefers - so we will always be within eyesight or earshot of each other. When we have your dog/s at our home, one or both of us will be with them 24/7.

Information Joe S. would like to know about your pet

I enjoy interacting with and caring for dogs of all kinds of personalities and activity levels, so I'd just want to know if (1) the dog has any medical conditions or medicine requirements (2) the dog has an aversion to specific animals or situations and (3) if the dog has any special potty-break needs or habits; Otherwise, just the general information on feeding (food type & timing) and any other unique characteristics or needs of the dog. I have administered medicines to dogs including oral medications (liquid dispensing), so am comfortable doing that, as well masking medicine inside of food and meticulously following the timing and dose requirements that you provide.

A typical day

I generally take dogs for walks in the Sorensen, Walker-Lake and Lenox neighborhoods of St. Louis Park and spend time in my backyard so the dog can watch birds, squirrels, etc, and enjoy the cool grass, sunshine and just take in nature when the weather allows. Tug-of-war, fetch and general "roughhousing" as the dog's demeanor allows. I usually take the dog for two walks per day (totaling one hour or more) unless the dog's condition or preferences require shorter or less frequent walks: whatever the dog desires so they are satisfied physically & mentally.

Pet care experience

I've owned dogs and cared for others for more than 30 years. I allow the dog to determine our level of interaction but will always be with him/her and - if the dog wishes - he/she can join me (and Henry) on the bed or couch or chair to sleep, hangout in the yard, etc. I allow the dog the "run of the house" but I know some owners and pets prefer the crate at times, so we can have that set up, too. Weather permitting I usually take my dog (Henry) and whoever is in my care on two or three walks per day, in addition to time in the backyard soaking up the sun, watching the clouds pass by and keeping an eye on the squirrels and birds frolicking in the trees and bushes and my garden. I live in a quiet neighborhood of St. Louis Park with several walking options and also spend time with the dog in my backyard or in the living room (dogs' indoor play area essentially) so they get plenty of exercise, sun and time in nature.

This is our second time having Joe watch our Goldendoodle, Lenny. Joe did just as good of time as last updating us throughout the time and giving Lenny the best care.

Joe did a great job caring for "my sweet precious baby!" She even ate for him which she doesn't always do. 10/10

Joe is so awesome! My puppy came home tired every day from all of the fun she was having at Joe's daycare. He's very kind and clearly loves dogs. 10/10!
