Pet care experience

Big Yard, Big Hearts, Happy Dogs

Hi! My name Oleksandr which is a in Ukrainian spelling of Alexander , and to make it more fun - I go by "Sasha," as all Alexander's do from that part of the world. What sets me apart is that dog care is it's a family effort in our home. I’ve raised and cared for a variety of breeds—from energetic terriers and gentle collies to shy retrievers and senior dogs. I’m experienced with everything from caring for puppies to supporting older dogs with mobility issues and medication routines. I offer a calm, dog-savvy household where your pet gets daily walks (30–40 minutes twice a day), playtime outside, and a securely fenced 8,000 sq ft yard to explore. I treat every dog like my own and am happy to integrate them into my pack—if they're comfortable with it. Whether it’s cuddles, structure, or space they need, I'm ready to provide it.

We really were very happy with the care that Sasha and family provided for Prince. We had meticulous daily updates, pictures and videos that described the day, eating and sleeping routines. We will certainly consider them for our next opportunity. Thanks Sasha!

My pups had a wonderful time with Oleksandr and his family. They came home tired and ready for snuggles. Oleksandr gave me updates every day and was very kind. We will absolutely be using them again!

Sasha was a great. Very friendly with a safe, dog loving home. He took good care of Dash and kept us informed routinely. Would book again!

Sasha and his family provided excellent care to our senior pup. They asked questions, checked-in, and updated us regularly. It’s obvious they have a heart for this type of work and truly ensured my dog was a ‘fit’ before taking her on. I felt comfortable on my vacation knowing Zelda was in good care. 10/10 would book with them again.

If I could leave greater than 5 stars, I would. I cannot express my appreciation for the pet sitting services and communication of Oleksandr and his family enough. Oleksandr and his family cared for our puppy (11months old) for over 2 weeks and maintained regular and ongoing contact with descriptions of the day and many pictures everyday. Our puppy was given a daily routine of walks, play, quiet and caretaking time. Our puppy was so active and loved the entire time she was there, she was hesitant to come back home with us! Truly a great family who are gifted at caring for dogs who are away from home.

Schedule

As an educator who's off for the summer, I have the time and flexibility to give your pet plenty of attention and care. While my teen sons stay active with sports and activities, I’m home during the day with our own pup, Lana, and any visiting dogs. Rain or shine, I take Lana, and guest dogs, on two daily walks (30–40 minutes each), typically in the late morning and early evening. My dog Lana and I love hanging out on our shaded deck during warm days, and the guest dogs are always welcome to join us outside or inside. On rainy days, they have entirety of the main floor space (except bedrooms) and are welcome to relax on our couches or in one of several comfy dog beds. Your pup will be part of our daily rhythm—walks, play, rest, and lots of love.

Safety, trust & environment

When your dog stays with me, they’re part of a warm, dog-experienced household where safety and trust come first. We have an 8,000+ sq ft fenced yard—enclosed with privacy fencing and a secure 5-foot wire gate—so your pup can explore and play safely. Inside, they’ll have access to a peaceful, dog-friendly environment with plenty of soft beds, clean water, toys, and cozy spots to rest. I take time to understand each dog’s personality and needs, from slow introductions with our own dog to matching your pup’s routine for feeding, medications, and crate training if needed. I never leave dogs unsupervised with each other until we’ve built trust and confidence in their dynamic. And whether you're booking boarding or drop-in visits, I always keep communication open with regular updates and photos—so you feel fully connected and confident in your pup’s care.

A typical day

A typical day with the pups I care for includes a mix of outdoor adventures and relaxing downtime. I love taking them on walks around our neighborhood in Melody Lake, where we explore scenic spots like Melody Lake Park—a charming, shaded trail tucked into the trees—and the winding paths of Yancey Park. We sometimes venture to the Lake Harvey pond near Southview Middle School and the Edina golf club for a change of pace. At home, I have a spacious yard that’s perfect for play. Depending on what each pup enjoys, we’ll play fetch with a ball or frisbee, have a good game of tug-of-war with soft toys, or just romp around in a game of chase. My dog Lana especially loves to mix things up with a bit of chase and gentle wrestling. Once everyone’s had their fill of fun, the pups can rest and recharge on our deck—complete with outdoor doggie beds—or sprawl out in the shade under our Japanese lilacs and arborvitaes. It’s all about keeping things active, fun, and relaxed based on what the pups enjoy most!

It’s always helpful to know a few key things ahead of time to make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and at home. Let me know: - Any health issues, medications, or mobility limitations - Feeding schedule and any dietary restrictions - How they tend to behave around new people, kids, or other dogs - Favorite games, toys, or calming routines - Whether they’re crate-trained or have any house rules they’re used to - Any fears or triggers (like storms, loud noises, or certain situations) The more I know, the better I can match your pet’s routine and keep them comfortable while you're away!
