“Celine did a great job with Buda while we were gone for about a week! Some health concerns came out but she handled it very professionally and Buda looked so happy during his stay. We got frequent updates and photos, everything we could ask for.”

“My little guy King stayed with Molly for 5 nights. He's usually very shy with humans at first, but he seemed to have a great time while staying there, which set me at ease. He got to meet other doggos and make other friends too. He loves being able to roam and play in a fenced yard, so that was a plus! Molly kept me posted on Kings daily activities and how he was doing, and also sent me pics daily! King always looked like he was having so much fun! Definitely made me worry less about leaving him for more than a few days. The coziness and warm vibe in their house made me feel good about having King stay with them... I'd definitely use Molly again for daycare or boarding for my sweet King!”

“Emily and Kieran were the best dog watchers! Their dog Leon is so chill and playful with our pup, Roscoe. They did two walks a day and outdoor play was easy with a doggy door. We received daily updates. So grateful to have Roscoe in good hands while we were away.”

“Christina did a great job with Crosby. I trusted that he was well cared for and got lots of love and attention. Normally a very stressed out dog, he seemed very relaxed when I picked him up. We'll definitely use her again in the future.”

“We are so fortunate to have found Andy and his lovely family on Rover! We boarded our 2 yo Frenchie Bertie overnight and she had a ball with his 3 Italian Greyhounds! Andy was super welcoming and communicative. We felt Bertie was in great hands with a family that seemed to love her as much as we do!”

“Katherine did an amazing job with Boone. He was well rested and not anxious at all when I picked him up. She was very flexible and communicative during his stay. I was very happy!”

“Kylie & John watched my dog Kate for two weeks and I could tell by the photos and text updates that she was relaxed and comfortable in their home. They are very easy going and caring; real dog lovers who understand dog behavior. When I picked up Kate, she was calm and seemingly happy. I was too, knowing that she was in the best of care while I was away. Thank you Kylie and John! Kate hopes to stay with you again.”

“Annie was a godsend. She was able to look after my boy for a week on short notice, made time for an initial meet and greet, and was very patient with him (he can be an anxious boy). He absolutely adored her, and I was able to completely detach and know that my baby was in good hands while off on my work trip on the other side of the country. I will definitely be checking for Annie's availability in the future whenever I need a sitter, she's good people and she took such good care of my dog.”

“Samantha was an amazing dogsitter for Wally! She was extremely responsive and kindly offered to do a meet and greet prior to boarding to make sure Wally was comfortable. He had such a great time that he didn't want to leave (really!). Will definitely book Samantha again!”

“So happy to have connected with Andrew for my pup's recent weekend adventureaway from home. She is little and can be timid but he created an environment that kept her happy and I could tell from the photos he sent that she was feeling safe. Andrew was great to communicate with -- no surprises and always quick reply. Also he did not laugh at me when I showed up with her overnight bag which was....as big as mine. We'll be back for sure!! Very grateful.”

“Lucero & Ikenna took care of my senior dog Jake. They were communicative, understanding and flexible. After a meet and greet, I felt very comfortable leaving Jake with them and knowing he was in good hands.”

“We were so lucky to find Harrison!! He took wonderful care of Kiwi for a long weekend, and we were relieved to know she was in such great hands. He was very responsive to communications, updated us with pics, and even made us aware of a spot he noticed on her paw (which we knew about but hadn't thought to mention to him). We also appreciated his flexibility about pick up time when we were traveling back home. So grateful for his great care and highly recommend him!”

“Victoria and Brent were simply the best! They are both kind and compassionate and wanted to be sure both my pup and I were comfortable and happy. Goal achieved! They made us both feel very welcome in their home and handled my nervous pup and the separation anxiety like pros. Lots of photo updates to assure me all was well. They also adjusted their routine to accommodate his exercise needs. We’ll definitely use them again!”

Brittany was awesome! I needed a super last minute dog sitter over 4th of July weekend and she was so sweet and quick to reply. It was my first time leaving my dog with a stranger but she really put my mind at ease and continued to send me picture and text updates throughout the duration. I signed up for her to stay in my home and she left everything clean and tidy and my dog was well taken care of. Will be requesting her going forward! Thank you Brittany!

Jill was so good with my dog Louie. She kept me up to date on how he was doing, with photos and some funny videos. She was flexible as best she could be about drop off and pick up. She was very conscious of Louie’s safety and health, taking excellent care of him. Louie loved her and felt right at home. I will definitely leave my dog with her again. Thank you, Jill

Bee had such a fun time staying with Emmy and Banjo! Emmy sent me daily picture updates, was super responsive and accommodating to changes in my schedule. Bee is a high energy dog and Emmy fulfilled her exercise needs every day, getting her outside to do all of her favorite things. Bee will be excited to visit Emmy and Banjo again the next time I need a sitter!

Leon had a great time with Viva! He came home happy and tired :) viva definitely knows how to build relationships with dogs and also their humans! She sent fabulous pictures of Leon clearly happy and relaxed. I can’t thank her enough! Also communication was clear easy and accurate.
Claudia and Jason are truly amazing dog sitters. They took excellent care of our large Aussiedoodle , who never likes to be separated from me. They took him on many varied walks and on one of them even got him a pup ice cream, had cuddle time, time for play and rest. He returned home calm, confident and tired. I fully trust Claudia and Jason and am so grateful to them.

We couldn’t have asked for better care for Phoebe while we were out of town. She was treated like family, and it was clear she was happy, comfortable, and well loved the entire time. We’re so appreciative of the updates with pictures and the thoughtful care she received. It made being away so much easier knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely trust Muriel and her family again.

Jenna was amazing, we booked last minute for our energetic, large lab after our planned care fell through. It was obvious through pictures and communication that Mogul was well cared for, getting lots of walks, runs and adventure and that Jenna was staying consistent with our training. We couldn’t be happier and will 100% rebook with her in the future .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
