“Jules is wonderful. Loves doggies and is kind, considerate and communicative. She has her own very sweet dog. I can tell if Colbert has been comfortable when I pick him up. When I have occasionally left him at a kennel or even one or two private homes, he is frantic to go. When I picked him up at Jules’ place, he was happy to see me, but seemed quite relaxed and clearly related to Jules. She lives near the Greenbelt and Willard Beach, which is also a plus. Highly recommended!”

“Kelly took Copper in and gave him 100% attention for the days I was gone. I am very very pleased with how she cared for him. I highly Recommend Kelly. Top of the line caring dog sitter.”

“I will definitely reach out to Christina for any care for my pup. Her communication and attention to my dog was unmatched and I’m sure my dog will be excited to see her again!”

“Grace is a fantastic sitter. Chewy, my Labradoodle, loved staying with her. He has had two separate stays with her and when he saw her the second time, he simply rushed in to greet her with such joy. I definitely recommend her if you need a dog sitter.”

About: For many years in San Francisco, I was a house and Pet Sitter. It started off with just doing it for friends and then word got around and I had a couple of regular gigs. I’ve been an animal lover all my life and have owned several different types since I was a child. I have a 13 year-old daughter who also loves animals and would love to accompany me at times if you are OK with that too. Hello, I currently work part-time so I have most mornings and evenings to feed, walk and play with your critters. I live in Portland so prefer things that are in the town or nearby. I am open to house sits and boarding animals within 45 minutes of Portland. I do have two cats so if I am boarding, they need to be OK with that. If at your home… I will do your routine for the animals. If at my home…I currently live in a large house, I have a yard that is not fenced in that they can go out to the bathroom and on leash in, as well as the Back cove two blocks away and a safe residential neighborhood to walk in. I love taking dogs to dog parks and on adventures to walking trails and beaches. I have two cats that have been around other animals and after warming up seem to do well coexisting.
About: I grew up with dogs and I miss the pure joy they have for this world. I can't own one with my current situation, but would love to look after yours. I'm a working professional who is kind and courteous. If you want me to know anything ask, feel free to ask! -Alex I work a full time remote job, with easy morning and evening walking times. The afternoon tends to be a bit busier for me so I may not be able to take an extended break but can make sure your pup has plenty of bathroom breaks and long walks. I am kind and courteous of other people's space. I offer sitting in your space or walks, because my apartment doesn't allow me to have dogs.
“Amanda and Austen were great with our 5 year old lab! We got regular updates and photos daily which was very appreciated. It felt like they truly loved our dog and treated him like their own. They really got to know him and his personality. They kept him busy and exercised with plenty of outside time!”

“Kylie and John were absolutely amazing with Fenway! From the moment I dropped him off, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. She sent me regular photo updates, and it was clear he was happy, relaxed, and having a great time. I could tell he got plenty of love, attention, and playtime. Fenway will definitely be staying with them again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Kathleen and Dylan are so great with Luna! She is well cared for while in their care and taken on fun walks and to adventures to play with other dogs. Kathleen is very responsive and always keeps us up to date on Lunas stay. We definitely will be seeing her again soon!”

“Amy was great with my two Bernedoodles. I had a lot of anxiety leaving them and she made sure to send lots of pics that made me feel better. She was great at communicating and I would definitely board my dogs with her again.”

“Lucero & Ikenna took care of my senior dog Jake. They were communicative, understanding and flexible. After a meet and greet, I felt very comfortable leaving Jake with them and knowing he was in good hands.”

About: I grew up in a household with lots of animals, we never had less than 3 pets! I've always loved walking and running and I miss having an animal companion for that now that I’ve moved out! I just graduated form the University of Vermont and I’ll be living in Maine all summer:) I am taking very few classes this semester so I have lots of time in my schedule throughout the entire day. I don't have class on Fridays through Monday evening. Pet care would fit in perfectly, specially walks because I go on walks/hikes almost every day! As a golden rule, I would treat a pet the same way I would want my family pets at home to be treated. Lovingly, and always making sure they are in a safe fun environment!

About: Hi, my name is Michael and I am a proud owner of a beautiful King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and my dog and I would both love to have your pups company. Please let me know if you have any special instructions and I promise your pup will have a comfortable stay with many fun walks. Thanks! I provide 5 walks a day for my own pup and would love for your dog to join. I work from home so your dog will have ongoing company throughout most of the day. I have one friendly dog in a quiet calm environment with no children. I will feed and walk your doggy as requested, and can provide lots of pets as well.
“Samantha is the best! She asked lots of questions when we met, listened to our suggestions and concerns and happily sat with Mia for a couple of hours to get acquainted while we went out to lunch. Mia settled in with no problems and Samantha gave us updates and pictures at least twice a day. She went out of her way to make drop off and pickup easy. Mia enjoyed lots of walks, adventures and attention during her stay and we were able to enjoy our vacation confident that she was receiving good care. It was a bonus that she lives right down the street so Mia was able to stay in her own neighborhood. I give Samantha ten stars.”

About: I was raised with cats and dogs and i have kept them into my adult life. Not having them would be a tragedy. I look forward to caring for your fur baby as they are my own. I am constantly taking care of my kitten and my 2 other cats and I help my friend with his pupper often and love every minute of it. I can go to your place or watch them here your call. If your animal is comfier at home then that is no problem at all for me. My home is quiet and currently dog free. My cats are currently livng ful time at my friends as i jist moved to this new place and into my significant others place so no need to worry about clashing.
About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I am often away from home for a few hours in the evening, but I am flexible and happy to stay home with an animal if necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game! We live in a very safe area, in a pet-friendly home. It is just my partner and I, two young professionals, in an apartment that regularly hosts animals for boarding. As a previous long-time pet owner and sitter, I am aware of the best practices regarding animal safety (depending on the animal). I prioritize comfort and respect with animals. I think of animals as a member of the family, and will care for their interest and safety as I would a child who was in my care.
“Grace took such great care of Chloe! She took her on wonderful walks, played with her and sent adorable photos and videos while we were away. Chloe warmed up to her quickly. We highly recommend Grace!”

Portland pet parents share their Rover experiences
Claudia and Jason are FANTASTIC sitters. They adapted smoothly when I had to change my drop off and pickup times/dates, took excellent care of my pup, and sent the best updates and photos throughout the stay. I had no doubt they were making Riley feel right at home and that he was in good hands. I booked this stay while travelling, but if I lived closer would book with these 2 everytime I needed pet care!

We couldn’t have asked for better care for Phoebe while we were out of town. She was treated like family, and it was clear she was happy, comfortable, and well loved the entire time. We’re so appreciative of the updates with pictures and the thoughtful care she received. It made being away so much easier knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely trust Muriel and her family again.

Jenna was amazing, we booked last minute for our energetic, large lab after our planned care fell through. It was obvious through pictures and communication that Mogul was well cared for, getting lots of walks, runs and adventure and that Jenna was staying consistent with our training. We couldn’t be happier and will 100% rebook with her in the future .

My dog Juno loved Grace the minute she met her! She got to go on lots of walks on the Eastern Prom, and appeared to eat very well, which isn't always the case if she is feeling anxious being away from us. I so appreciated the daily pics Grace sent of Juno out walking and/or snuggled up and clearly cozy at Grace's place. Plus Grace is just clearly a very kind, lovely person. I would love to book her again in the future, and definitely recommend her to others!
