I’m a middle school teacher on summer break with A LOT of availability. I regularly free weekdays during the day through the evening and even available at night and through the night most days of the week.

I have a large fenced in yard with that’s mostly shaded by surrounding trees. With easy access from a back deck. We also have a screened in porch for good airflow on hotter days. I live in a nice and walkable neighborhood and I regularly visit local walking/hiking trails in the area.

Please let me know if your dog: has any special needs, certain triggers with humans, other animals or external stimuli, what their energy level is, can they swim (do they have permission to get wet), do they like to play fetch and I am happy to answer any and all questions as well
A typical day
I will bring dogs out into nature to make sure they are stimulating their minds and bodies with lots of things to sniff and fresh air. We will head to many nature parks. Some may be fenced in where we can play fetch if that’s part of your dogs normal routine. With permission and we will head to places with water as well, from rivers to beaches. And when we get back I have a large back yard and a back deck for dogs to hang out and either relax in the shade or sun bath.

I have cared for dogs of all sizes from 10lbs to 100+ lbs, ages puppy to senior, all with various temperaments, energy levels and medical needs. I’ve also cared for many cats ranging from 2 years old to 13 years old

James was extremely kind and active with our dog! Highly recommend
James took wonderful care of our dog Maya over a five day long weekend. He has a backyard with a deck and when I arrived to pick her up, she greeted me but went back to her spot on the deck and would have been happy to stay, I think! James sent a photo and video when I texted to see how she was doing and that was reassuring. We have another weekend away scheduled in the next couple of months and plan to ask James to take care of her then, so I would recommend him highly. He has a super friendly dog and she was good company for Maya.
James was very attentive and did a great job with Millie and Yogi.
My senior dog was so comfortable with James. Definitely would book again when we are in Portland. Thank you!
