“A 5 star hotel stay for your furry friend. Seth and his are amazing. From first contact to pick they were amazing. Feels like you dropped your dog with a family member. I am so amazed Thank you for the care.”

“Wowza!!!! Janice is amazing! Not only did she provide tender loving care for our dog, Pasquale, but she was sooooo accommodating when our flights were changed last minute. We could not have found a better match for our needs. We love Janice….XO😘”
“Vicky did an excellent job taking care of Harriet. She took Harriet for lots of walks on nearby trails and sent us multiple photos over the weekend. I highly recommend Vicky!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and genuinely enjoy caring for pets like they’re my own. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to help with feeding, walks, playtime, and check-ins when they’re busy or away. I’m responsible, patient, clean, and very attentive to details, routines, and instructions. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet with someone, so I’ll make sure to provide reliable care, updates, and plenty of love while you’re gone! I am a college grad who loves animals, but I do not have one of my own. Therefore, your dog will get all of my attention! I live alone in my own apartment. My apartment complex is very dog friendly with safe walking trails and lit side walks at night time.
“As always, Maizy enjoyed her time at Rachael’s. She basically went in her house and walked around for a couple minutes, then laid down. Ready to relax! We were able to visit friends in Boston knowing Maizy was being extra well taken care of. Thank you again, Rachael. See you soon for another upcoming weekend stay for our girl!!”
About: Lifelong dog lover with plenty of availability for long morning walks. I am a current medical student with a flexible schedule, available for last‑minute walks or overnight stays for the right family. I look forward to getting to know you! I’m a first‑year medical student currently on summer vacation, which gives me plenty of free time throughout the week. I’m available for both morning and afternoon walks, depending on what your dog needs. My days are flexible, so I can easily fit regular weekly walks or occasional check‑ins into my routine. I care for pets in their own home so they can stick to their normal routine. I handle feeding, walks, and any instructions you leave, and make sure your dog gets steady attention throughout the day. My focus is keeping things calm, consistent, and comfortable for your pup.

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I grew up with a cat who was much more than a pet—because I didn’t have any brothers or sisters, she was my best friend and constant companion. Later, after meeting my husband, who had a dog, I discovered how much joy dogs bring and how different, fun, and rewarding it is to spend time with them. Now that my own children are older and more independent, I finally have some time to do something I’ve wanted for a while: care for other people’s dogs. Spending time with animals truly makes me happy, and I would love to give your dog the same love, attention, and care that I would give my own. I’ve looked after dogs in my home and understand that every pet is unique. Some dogs love long walks and playtime, while others just want a quiet companion nearby. I’ll happily follow your dog’s routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. What really sets me apart is how much I genuinely care. I pay close attention to the little details, carefully follow your instructions, and treat every pet like family. I’ll also send regular photos and updates, so you’ll always know your furry friend is happy and well cared for. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of time to care for your pet. I’m available for afternoon walks during the week, as well as boarding. Your dog will have regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day. I always do my best to follow your pet’s usual schedule, so they feel comfortable and at home while you’re away. My home is a safe, pet-friendly environment where dogs are treated like part of the family. They will have plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and a cozy place to rest. . My children are older. They’re gentle and respectful, and they’ll happily play with your dog if that’s something your dog enjoys. I’ll also send regular photo updates, so you’ll always know your pet is happy and well cared for.

“Karen and Steve took excellent care of my 4 year old energetic Siberian Husky and 13 year old Havanese. Karen took beautiful photos of both dogs and I was kept up to date on how they were doing the whole stay. Can't wait to book with them for my next vacation! Thank you both!”

“Stefany was amazing. She accepted my last minute request and responded to all my messages very quickly. She gave me lots of updates and bonded immediately with my dog, even though he can be picky about people sometimes. Would recommend for anyone who needs a dog sitter in Maine!”

“Emily and Kieran were the best dog watchers! Their dog Leon is so chill and playful with our pup, Roscoe. They did two walks a day and outdoor play was easy with a doggy door. We received daily updates. So grateful to have Roscoe in good hands while we were away.”

About: I have always loved being around animals and taking care of my friends' pets. I am a genuine, caring, and loyal animal lover seeking part-time work caring for your beloved four-legged family members. I have taken care of cats and dogs all my life and connect with them easily. I have experience with mealtime, medications, playtime, clean-up, and exercise/walks. I look forward to hearing from you! I am an electrical engineer at TRC and work remotely. I work full-time, generally with very flexible weekend availability. I am a quick learner and will be able to accommodate special care instructions. I will love and take care of your pets like they are my own. Not only will I take care of your pets, but I will always make sure to tidy up before I leave your place (depending on whether you hire me for house sitting or Check-ins). I’m extremely responsive and I’m really good at communicating to make sure I meet your fur babies needs.
“Christina was amazing with our granddogger, Roxie. Roxie is elderly and has special needs and Christina handled all of her needs with care and compassion. It's nice to know that we can go away and leave Roxie in good hands. I highly recommend Christina.”
“Simon was so nice and welcoming, and my dogs seemed very happy. I got a bunch of pictures showing me how comfortable and at home my dogs felt from the first moment. We will certainly call Simon when we are in the area again!”

“Jaclyn and Eric were great. They run a well-oiled operation and our dog was very happy there. Plenty of play time and relaxing as well. Great communication and we would definitely board our dog there again. Thank you.”

“Neil and Abby were great. Good communication and our dog was very happy there - lots of good play time with their dog Molly. Would definitely have Delta board with them again in the future!”

“Christine is a new favorite dogsitter! I left one of my dogs with her and her canine crew for five days—she came home happy, healthy, and tired after romping around the big fenced yard, dipping in the pool, and snoozing on the couch. Worry-free dogsitting from a true dog lover. Thanks, Christine!”

“Kelly took excellent care of my 12 year old pup. Kelly is communicative and asked great questions before we met, as well as during the meet & greet. She stayed in touch throughout and sent pictures, my pup looked so happy! I had no reason to worry while I was away and my pup was comfortable and content when I arrived to pick her up. We would absolutely book with Kelly again.”

Carmen and her sweet family are AMAZING!!! I booked two last minute boarding stays for my dog Dolly within the same week and she was incredibly accommodating to these last minute requests. I loved all the updates and pictures of Dolly and even more importantly Dolly was SO well cared for and loved. When we returned for the second stay Dolly was so excited to be back which gave me so much peace of mind. Dolly has spent very little time away especially overnight but I will trust Carmen going forward to care for Dolly in a heart beat. I am grateful to have found a safe and loving home for my girl while I'm away!!! Your dog will feel right at home ☺️

I couldn’t be happier! Gracie was so well loved and cared for. As a senior dog who is also blind, I wasn’t sure how she would do in a home instead of a kennel, but she was calm and content when we picked her up. Amanda also took some adorable pictures and shared them with us over the holiday. We’re so happy and will definitely be using Amanda again in the near future.

Laney was great! We had a last minute request in a pinch she was able to watch our chocolate lab. She updated us with pictures frequently, and our Hazel just loved spending time with her and her kids and husband. She came home tired and happy which to me is a great sign! We will definitely be using her services again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
