Dogs will get lots of play time!Buxton, ME

My name is Sara. I have a four year old chocolate lab who is my best friend. I bring her just about everywhere with me. I grew up with three golden retrievers and have taken care of dogs all of my life. My house is perfect for dog sitting as I have a big back yard for the dogs to run around, and have wooded trails out back to take them on walks. There is also a dog park less than 5 minutes from my house where I take Moose everyday. I have frisbees, balls, and lots of chew toys for your dog and mine! I give the dogs lots of exercise everyday and always find fun things to do with them. Sometimes all they want to do is lay around and cuddle, and I am perfectly okay with that too!

I have wooded trails out back of my house, mountains close by to go on hikes, the saco river to go swimming in, and Scarborough land trust trails close by.

I will not only care for your dog, but love them like my own and give them lots of attention, snuggles, walks, and play. Moose gets along great with all breeds of dogs! You can rest assured that your dog will be well taken care of on their stay. Moose and I look forward to meeting your furry friend!

Home all day to spoil your furbaby!North Deering, Portland, ME

We are excited to spoil your pup or kitty with love and attention! My husband, Dave, and I live in a spacious house in Portland (North Deering) on a quiet, dead end street. We live within walking distance to several trails, namely one that leads directly to the Quarry Run dog park and loop -- one of our favorite places to take our yellow lab, Dolly Parton, to run around. We love being outdoors and being out and about with Dolly -- and we'd love to have another buddy to join us!

I am currently working part-time and Dave works in software sales from our home office, so we're super flexible and can meet any exercise requirements your dog might need. We absolutely love dogs and cats and will take the best care of your furbaby. We're open to all dogs big or small, high or low energy, and we look forward to meeting you!

I’ll exhaust your dog from walking!Rosemont, Portland, ME

Hi there! I’m Melissa. I love dogs and cats and while I’m not yet ready for my own dog I would treat yours with so much love as if it were my own. I exercise daily and love a good walk or run. I work from home so I’d be more than available to help and watch your dog all day long. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I’m easy going and open and would be totally available to meet you ahead of time. At this time I can only accept dogs that are housebroken.

Thank you

We don't deserve dogs...Riverton, Portland, ME

We don't deserve dogs...but that'll never stop me from trying to be worthy of them.

I've been an animal lover all my life. I have volunteered at no-kill shelters, petitioned for animal rights and have crossed 3 lanes of traffic to attempt to rescue a stray dog on numerous occasions.

My family and friends know to come to me or to refer me to anyone who needs a sitter. My philosophy of taking care of their children is to treat them with the exact same care and love as their parents bestow upon them.

Sometimes it's bad enough for them that you are gone for 8 hours a day leaving them to wonder why you keep disappearing for long hours. I'm sure it's the same feeling even if you're gone for just 5 minutes! But to leave them with a complete stranger might leave them even more confused. By creating the same environment and feel that they are used to receiving leads to trust that they are in good hands.

I have volunteered many times since I was 13 to watch a friends dog while they were away on vacation for a week. It's never a hesitation and it's never a bother. I've stayed at their homes as well, usually with my own pup by my side, so theirs aren't completely alone for 23 hours and only seeing a human twice a day.

I have experience in giving medication, pills and shots. If they need to play fetch for an hour a day, no problem! It's important to keep up their routine and I make sure it happens.

As much as the idea of boarding a pup is convenient, it sometimes isn't a comfortable environment for them. I've had parents tell me their pup comes home even more anxious than they were before boarding. Unless it's for safety reasons, I wouldn't want to be left in a kennel for more than a minute myself.

My current availability shown is always up-to-date, 99% of the time I'm available for last minute arrangements, and my daily rates can be negotiable, if needed, determined by a case by case basis. However, any extended stays (4+ days/nights), those rates are always negotiable.

Regarding Boarding: On the day of pickup, if you plan to pickup your fur baby after 4pm, I will charge a Daycare fee to the booking. I currently do not have any set drop-off/pickup hours

*****For planning purposes, I will not be in Maine from the end of June to the end of July, I've accepted an out-of-state house sitting gig. If you are a repeat client and are comfortable with my backup aka my flatmate, let me know!*****

Dogs spoiled here! ❤Gorham, ME

Hello my name is Heidi I am 27 years old. I have owned dog, cats, and a number of other animals my whole life. I worked in a doggie daycare for 3 years, 2 of those years I worked as the assistant manager. Dogs have always been my passion. Due to my husband switching jobs I was forced to quit the doggie daycare, but would still love to work with dogs. I currently own 3 dogs of my own. My oldest is Titan an 8 year old Male hound mix, Lyla a 5 year old female black lab, and Moku a 19 month old Male rottweiler. All of my animals have been spayed or neutered. My house hold is also made complete with 2 kids Bella age 4, Keagen age 2, a bearded Dragon, and 1 cat named Tank. The cat mainly stays up stairs by choice and sleeps cozied up in my children's stuffed animals or on their beds. I absolutely love animals and have my whole life. I have 65 acres of land, complete with a man made pond, and woods. I also have a back yard fenced in with 6 foot high chain link fencing.

Loving care when you're not there!Ocean Avenue, Portland, ME

I LOVE dogs! Since I don't have one of my own, I will treat yours just l like he/she is mine.

Rover allows me to fill my deep-seated love for dogs while you feel safe knowing that your dog is in great, loving hands. I grew up with dogs hiking, running, going to the beach, etc., and miss doing those things. I live in Portland and enjoy an active life style -- I would love your dog to join me! I also enjoy those cozy nights in, doing nothing but cuddling on the couch :)

I live near Payson Park and Back Cove (a 3.5 mile walk/run around the bay). Your dog will be going on most of their morning and evening walks in these areas. I also enjoy bringing dogs to East End and Willard beach -- and in my opinion, is the happiest place in the world! My schedule and world will revolve around your dog when they are in my care. Since we live in such a dog friendly place, there are many things to do!

I have plenty of experience with dogs who have anxiety, whether they are nervous of new people, other dogs, children, etc. There are other things we can do together to avoid these triggers, or if you prefer, we can just stay in! If you like your dog to follow certain rules, I am happy to learn them and continue instituting those rules.

I live by myself in a clean and beautiful large 1 bedroom apartment. I have a decent sized unfenced yard but typically have funner things planned! You can find photos of my apartment on my profile.

I am very friendly, communicative, and enjoy providing you updates of what he or she has been up to every day.

On Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, I work as a marketing professional. I have open nights and weekends. I understand that pets are our babies and I treat each dog as my own. They will be very spoiled! I am open to any sort of timeline if you need to leave for a vacation, work trip, etc. I have even woken up at midnight to welcome a dog and his owner!

I look forward to hearing from you!

Small dog zone!Rosemont, Portland, ME

I love to have all sorts of little dogs in the home. I have one primary requirement: that they be able to cohabitate well with my senior bichon frise! Teeth brushing is not a problem, playtime is frequent, and hugs are unlimited. Walks consist of around the neighborhood blocks and to smaller neighborhood parks. On weekends we'll usually go to the bigger parks - Baxter woods is a favorite and summer might see longer hikes. If your pup is as great at scaling the tallest of hills, he or she will come with us!

Dogs are not caged in our home, but I can diaper them if there might be some incontinence issues. If you train them to be crated, they can be crated if they are more comfortable that way. Kongs, treats, and extra kibble is available.

Life-long animal lover!!Old Orchard Beach, ME

**Note** For the most part, I am only available on weekends (Friday afternoon through Sunday).

I am madly in love with dogs. They take to me and love me right back.

I am located in Old Orchard. I am doing dog sitting in my home only. I can do walking and drop ins at your place if it's local, and I will walk them as much or as little as you want.

Currently, I don't have a dog but, I am ready to spoil the heck out of yours! He/she will get tons of exercise and love. I am known throughout the neighborhood as the lady who loves dogs! I lost my sweet dog and his brother (Jethro the cat, lol) a few years ago, and just haven't gotten a new one yet. But, I've fostered tons of them.

Every owner has raved to me about how great a time their dog had!

I've had over 40 Rover dogs, and have about a dozen "repeats" or "regulars."

I have dog sat hundreds of times over the years, all rave reviews from both doggies and owners. I will brush him/her, walk, play with and spoil over all.

Energetic Caretaker for All DogsWest End, Portland, ME

I have always grown up with animals and love spending time with them! I love to be outside and be active, especially with animals but will design animal activities like walking to each animal’s specific needs and capabilities. I have one cat named Frisky who lives with me who has lived with dogs before. He is very sweet and playful. I visit my parents dog Muffin nearly every week but do not live with her. This is the first time in my life not living with a dog, so I enjoy anytime I get to spend with dogs. I have a very flexible schedule on weekdays and an even more open schedule on weekends to accommodate for your pet needs. Please message me with any questions. I am excited to get to know you and your pet

Alicia and Dave were great with Cosmo. He was very comfortable there with them and their dog, and they were great at giving him his medications. Always tough to find someone to watch these dogs with some medical issues, but they didn’t miss a beat. Loved getting the picture updates.
