“Abigail is the best! She provided excellent care of my cat while I was on vacation, and was even able to accommodate a last minute additional visit when I was unexpectedly delayed. I would not hesitate to have her back when personable, responsible, and professional pet care is needed. Thanks Abigail!”

“Lori is amazing with Joey—I trust her completely. There are only a handful of people I’d feel comfortable leaving him with, and she’s absolutely one of them. She’s great at communicating how he’s doing, sharing updates on his mood and how the visit went, and always makes sure he gets plenty of love.”

“Jillian took fantastic care of our high-energy pup. She was super communicative and proactive. We’d recommend her absolutely and look forward to working with her again.”

“Nikki was great at communicating, providing updates, and sending pictures. I came home to two happy cats after their time spent with her. Highly recommend booking drop in visits with Nikki!”

“Today was the first day we left our new puppy with Casey. It was also our very first Rover experience. Casey was punctual and sent so many adorable pictures. Even answered questions about the visit between visits for the day. Thank you Casey for making our first experience with a dog sitter so wonderful!”

“Dannelle deserves 10 stars. She was so helpful on such short notice, she sent pictures everyday, and also text me when she got to my house and left. Can't say enough good things about her!”

“This was my third time with Carmen watching out for my cats. She is always so warm and kind. I have a hard time leaving a pet overnight, but I have appreciated Carmen because you immediately know she's going to care for your pets the way you would.”

About: My super strength as a pet caregiver, is my interest in getting to know an animal's personality and working mindfully and respectfully with their nature. I prioritize safety, trust and attention. I've taught young children and raised kittens, puppies and chickens over the last twenty years. As a lover of Great Pyrenees (having raised three) and cats, I have great respect for the subtle and obvious efforts our animals use to communicate with us. I'm experienced with all ages. Senior pets are very dear to me. I've had the honor to provide comforting care for my own animals and provide tender touch, medications, dietary support, and a calm presence through their final months. I also love training and nurturing puppies. I am available to provide individualized day and overnight care for your pet(s) and plants. Contact me to discuss your short-term or longterm needs. I am especially interested in helping people feel at ease during holidays and vacations by providing qualified, experienced multi-day pet care. Mindfulness, kindness, and experience guide my services. I'm happy to travel to care for pets in the comfort of their home or mine! My place was designed for Great Pyrenees. I have a large, protective deck and fenced yard for supervised off-leash, outdoor time.
“Julie was great! Our kitty Ripley was happy and well taken care of! Julie did exactly what we needed and asked for. This allowed us to enjoy our holiday and not have to worry about if Ripley kitty was okay. Julie was easy to communicate with and checked in so we were sure all was well. We would absolutely reach out and trust Julie to check in on Ripley again. Thank you Julie!”

“Eva was amazing! She was extremely communicative and her love for dogs eased our minds while we left our dog for the first time with a sitter vs. family. I could not recommend her services enough!”

“Sirena has been wonderful watching my dog. She was very upfront about her schedule so I knew when to expect the drop ins which I really appreciated. She gave detailed reviews of each visit and I felt very comfortable and knew that my dog was being well cared for. I will 100% use Sirena again!”
About: I’ve grown up with pets my whole life, so that’s 25 years of loving animals, but just 11 years as the sole caregiver of my own. From Labradors to Chihuahuas, to Police K-9s, I’ve loved them all, though I’m currently a cat lady. For the first time in my life, I don’t have any dogs at the moment, as I don’t feel like I have enough space for it to be fair to them. So this is how I get my dog fix, and my steps in at the same time 🤭. I currently have 2 cats and 1 hedgehog, I’m a sucker for an exotic pet. I’ve also had 4 snakes in the past (my husband is terrified or else I’d have some right now). One of my cats is leash trained, and one has some medical needs, so I’m familiar with oral medication administration as well. I do work full-time during the week, so I am only available after 5pm. Sometimes I’m able to step away for breaks as I work from home 3 days per week, but my work is pretty irregular, so afternoons and evenings are the best bet for my availability. I live in a relatively small condo, so I don’t have much space. As much as I would love to offer boarding, I don’t think it would be fair to your pet, as I also do not have a yard. BUT I’m more than happy to stop by your home and fulfill any requests!
About: Hi, I’m Abby! I’m a remote worker based in Saco, Maine. I have a very sweet lab/boxer mix Tilly who gets along well with other dogs. I grew up caring for multiple dogs, cats and rabbits and have also pet-sat for family, friends and roommates quite a bit. I feel confident with all breeds, ages, and personalities. I’m home almost all day and have a very flexible schedule. I offer walks and drop-ins in the Saco area, but I’m happy to travel farther for house sitting. Just message me if you have any questions - I’d love to meet your fur babies! I work remotely as a freelance designer so my schedule is very flexible. I’m available throughout the day for drop-ins and walks and can do overnights with enough notice. I am very respectful of how others prefer to care for their pets and their homes. I will treat your beloved pet like my own and make sure to follow your outlined instructions for them. Keeping your pet safe and comfortable while you are away is key!
About: I have had experience with dogs of all sizes since I was 12 years old, including experience in pet sitting. A very flexible schedule to fit your needs! I am currently working part-time and taking college classes twice a week. I am available mornings including early mornings, nights, and have options for mid-day stop-ins! I have a fenced-in back yard and an open front yard. I live in a quiet neighborhood perfect for walks, and have crates accessible if needed.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Old Orchard Beach
Sparrow is wonderful! They are very attentive to detail and as agreed made sure they arrived at the specified time and all tasks performed. They are very compassionate and clearly love being around animals. I could be assured that if there was a problem or issue they were unsure of they would bring it to my attention. I have terrible PTSD from another pet sitters grave mistake, but Sparrow helped put my mind at ease. You won’t be disappointed hiring Sparrow to take care of your beloved pets.

Amanda is the best!! I have a very shy cat and I asked her to check in on him while I was away. She was very patient with him and made sure he was well fed and comfortable. I had not previously used Rover and was nervous about leaving him, but she made sure to send lots of photos and updates everyday. I'm very thankful for the care my cat received and I knew he was in good hands. I definitely recommended Amanda, she's great with animals and it is evident how much she cares!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
