“Abigail was so great with moose! She worked through a snafu with our keys seamlessly and cared for moose so well. We can’t thank her enough for taking care of our boy while we were gone for an evening. ❤️”

“Absolutely fantastic care - my senior kitty was so well taken care of with Casey. And Casey was especially adaptable with some unexpected issues at the apartment. Really highly recommend!”

“Marlena was FANTASTIC! She was very approachable and kind, and my dog, who doesn’t love many people, really loved her! She took great care of him, and I would book her again in a heartbeat.”

About: I grew up with animals and have cared for dogs, cats, and even birds! I will always want to work with animals! I know basic health needs and training for dogs. I work a full time job but am completely available to stay at a clients house for however long they need. I do not currently have pets and can devote my free time to the clients. I am a responsible, respectful, and good at communication. I understand the trust you’re putting in someone to care for your pets and your home.
“Jillian took fantastic care of our high-energy pup. She was super communicative and proactive. We’d recommend her absolutely and look forward to working with her again.”

“This is the second time we've booked with Connie and we felt like our kitty was in such good hands! It's clear she genuinely loves animals. We absolutely love her updates, they are descriptive and very cute. We really enjoy reading them. We will absolutely be booking with Connie again when needed!”

“Lori is amazing with Joey—I trust her completely. There are only a handful of people I’d feel comfortable leaving him with, and she’s absolutely one of them. She’s great at communicating how he’s doing, sharing updates on his mood and how the visit went, and always makes sure he gets plenty of love.”

About: I adore animals! I have been around animals my entire life and have a dog & a cat of my own! My Cocker Spaniel Willy has his own health issues, so if any extra special care is required for your pet, I’m your girl! I’m a full time registered nurse (RN) and only work 3 days a week! I am a Registered Nurse and only work 3 days a week! I am looking for ways to spend my days off, and I thought what better way than with animals!? I currently live in Biddeford and am available to travel to your home for any of your pets needs! I previously lived in Portland and work in Westbrook so I’m familiar with the area! Whether it’s for a potty break, walk, meals, or overnight care I would be happy to help!
“I’m very thankful for Julie! She took the time to come to my home ahead of time to meet the kitties and practice administering their oral medication. She was prompt and consistent with her care and I could tell my cats had less separation anxiety than usual. Thank you Julie!”

About: An animal lover through and through, having a natural affinity in pet care, I’ve often been someone coworkers, friends, and family members can rely on to trust with their home and pets. I take a keen interest in animal behavior, and strive to maintain your pets comfortability at all times, keeping them engaged, safe, and cared for. My work over the past year as an emergency vet tech assistant has helped hone these skills further, as well as equipped me to better help your pet if an emergent event arises! Additionally, I also volunteer for Another Chance Animal Rescue, working solely with cats, and own four fuzzy felines of my own. Currently I am delving into the grooming industry, and will be working part-time and on the weekends, enabling me to spend as much time needed with your pets during the week while you’re at work! I will be utilizing your home to care for your pet. Care style will differ depending on number of animals, species, and the specific needs of the pet themselves!
“Laura was great! She gave us detailed updates while we were gone and always included pictures, which we loved. She also made sure to give our cats love and attention! We would definitely ask Laura for help again in the future!”

“Isabella helped me out on short notice when my typical sitter became unavailable, and she was awesome. Reliable, experienced, friendly, and flexible with our schedule. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve grown up with pets my whole life, so that’s 25 years of loving animals, but just 11 years as the sole caregiver of my own. From Labradors to Chihuahuas, to Police K-9s, I’ve loved them all, though I’m currently a cat lady. For the first time in my life, I don’t have any dogs at the moment, as I don’t feel like I have enough space for it to be fair to them. So this is how I get my dog fix, and my steps in at the same time 🤭. I currently have 2 cats and 1 hedgehog, I’m a sucker for an exotic pet. I’ve also had 4 snakes in the past (my husband is terrified or else I’d have some right now). One of my cats is leash trained, and one has some medical needs, so I’m familiar with oral medication administration as well. I do work full-time during the week, so I am only available after 5pm. Sometimes I’m able to step away for breaks as I work from home 3 days per week, but my work is pretty irregular, so afternoons and evenings are the best bet for my availability. I live in a relatively small condo, so I don’t have much space. As much as I would love to offer boarding, I don’t think it would be fair to your pet, as I also do not have a yard. BUT I’m more than happy to stop by your home and fulfill any requests!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Saco
Megan was super kind and communicative. We enjoyed the daily pictures and updates for our cat Sophie. She offered extra home watching services while we were away. She seems to have more experience with dogs than cats, but we felt very comfortable leaving our cat in her hands.

Sparrow is wonderful! They are very attentive to detail and as agreed made sure they arrived at the specified time and all tasks performed. They are very compassionate and clearly love being around animals. I could be assured that if there was a problem or issue they were unsure of they would bring it to my attention. I have terrible PTSD from another pet sitters grave mistake, but Sparrow helped put my mind at ease. You won’t be disappointed hiring Sparrow to take care of your beloved pets.

Amanda is the best!! I have a very shy cat and I asked her to check in on him while I was away. She was very patient with him and made sure he was well fed and comfortable. I had not previously used Rover and was nervous about leaving him, but she made sure to send lots of photos and updates everyday. I'm very thankful for the care my cat received and I knew he was in good hands. I definitely recommended Amanda, she's great with animals and it is evident how much she cares!
Sirena was the absolute best at caring for my needy cat Rhea. She was always very clear in her communication and made sure I was kept up to date on how Rhea was doing. I don’t have the friendliest cat to others but Sirena took it in stride and I appreciate it. Highly recommend and would book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saco. On Rover:
- 99% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
