About: I adore animals! I have been around animals my entire life and have a dog & a cat of my own! My Cocker Spaniel Willy has his own health issues, so if any extra special care is required for your pet, I’m your girl! I’m a full time registered nurse (RN) and only work 3 days a week! I am a Registered Nurse and only work 3 days a week! I am looking for ways to spend my days off, and I thought what better way than with animals!? I currently live in Biddeford and am available to travel to your home for any of your pets needs! I previously lived in Portland and work in Westbrook so I’m familiar with the area! Whether it’s for a potty break, walk, meals, or overnight care I would be happy to help!
“Victoria is a very lovely and caring person. She communicated with us very well (with pictures) during her stay. Quinn and Ferdinand seemed happy and well taken care of. Our house was immaculate and probably cleaner than when we left, too.”

“Lori went the extra mile to ensure that our boy Monty was well cared for while we were away. She even sent us several photos so we wouldn’t worry about him and made an extra trip to the house to be sure that the temperature was comfortable for him.”

“Theodora did a great job taking care off Libbie managing her work schedule and dog sitting. She sent us many pictures and we could see they were enjoying each other. We would definitely use her again and we highly recommend her to Rover users.”

“This is the second time that Jillian stayed with our pup and we could not have been happier with our choice to re book! We got plenty of updates all weekend and came home to a tired pup and a spotless house. She even brought our packages in which was very much appreciated.”

“Beth was really great with our 3 pups. They immediately bonded with her. Beth stayed over for 2 nights and was very attentive to their needs. It was great to be able to be away for a few days and trust that Bella, Ginger, and Millie were in greats hands. We received fun photos of the pups all throughout her stay which made it all the more comforting. We will definitely book again and again! Thank you Beth for treating our doggie family like your own.”

“Julie was great! She saved us last-minute by staying with our dogs in our home for a couple of days, and I am so grateful. She was great with our two large energetic dogs. Her communication was great, and she was a very respectful house guest (the house was in perfect condition when we returned)!”

“Elizabeth was an exceptional house sitter for our standard poodle, Paddy. He is a big dog and quite excitable. She handled him very well (we saw the photos) and he seemed vey content with her. She followed all our directions for his care including giving medication twice daily. He was very calm, brushed and stress-free when we arrived home. She left our home cleaner than we left it, laundered her sheets and towels and even cooked delicious quiche-like creations is several varieties for our lunches! We would highly recommend Elizabeth.”

“Megan is a gem! This was our first experience hiring a sitter for our two elder dogs, so we were feeling rather anxious. After meeting Megan, though, any concerns we had evaporated and we didn’t have a moment of worry during our trip. We returned home to two very well cared for dogs and a clean, well tended home. We are thrilled to have found Megan, look forward to having her sit for us again, and highly recommend her.”

About: For about 10 years I have taken care of many dogs. I have experience house sitting and have experience taking care of dogs with particular needs such as allergies and giving medications. I go on walks everyday and I am looking for a companion to join me! I have always had dogs around me and living in a home without a pup right now is sad! I am looking for the opportunity to hangout with some pups because I can’t get my own right now! I’m currently working part time and have a flexible work schedule. I have time throughout the week for walks or check ins! My part time schedule also provides the perfect opportunity to house sit as I am not away for extended periods of time! I know how hard it can be to leave your dog in someone else’s care, so I make sure your pup feels safe and loved while they are with me! I’m also happy to send frequent updates and pictures of your pup and our adventures together!
“Rachael was absolutely wonderful caring for our dogs! We have a senior dog with extra needs as well as a younger, very energetic dog, and Rachael provided dependable, loving care to both. We received updates and photos while we were away, and Rachael kept us well informed with how our pups were doing. She also was very responsible in our home, and left things in even better shape than before she arrived. We would highly recommend Rachael to others, and will certainly be reaching out to her again as future dog sitting needs arise.”

“Ashley was excellent with our dog and two cats! We have a lot of personalities in our house and she handled it so well. She sent lots of photo updates and was conscientious about the care of my pets. I really appreciate the wonderful care she provided and will be reaching out to her again! Thanks so much!”

“Nishat was absolutely phenomenal! We could not have asked for a better person to take care of our Ellie. She sent us updates, photos, and communication was top notch. She was devoted to our pup during their time together. We are truly happy and will definitely be using Nishat again!”

“Once again I was relieved and felt confident that my dog Walter was in good hands while I was away on vacation. Walter can be anxious with different people, but Amanda knows how to handle him. I definitely plan to use Amanda's services again in the future.”

“Ryan was amazing!! Wonderful communicator!! Sent pics and kept me updated which makes me feel such comfort! House was left even cleaner than I left it too. Such a kind person I can’t wait to book again! Thank you!!”

About: I love to care for dogs and cats, big or small, kittens, and puppies, welcome, too! I have great energy and am a loving person that has built bonds with all the special pets I’ve been graciously surrounded with all of my life. Whether healthy pups who love long walks, and fetch, or older dogs and cats that require special diets and gentle care, I love to help them in any way I can. I don’t currently have any pets of my own, so my mornings and evenings, and most weekends, too, I am here to assist with yours! Some of my clients and friends feel more comfortable leaving notes to assure their pets get the same routine they are used to. I follow all instructions, when available, and make sure to stay prompt with feeding and walking times. The needs of any pet I am caring for are important to me and I want to make sure they feel safe and loved in my care. My home is welcome to boarding if the supplies are provided.
About: I have grown up working closely with shelters and fostering elderly dogs with my mom. My family have even had our own litter of puppies from birth through adoption. My family then started fostering pregnant cats and raising the kittens until they were ready for adoption. I have my own cat with a slew of medical problems and have no issues administering medications. Please let me know what I can do to fit your pet needs! I’m currently working full time as an accountant and have the option of working from home. This allows me to be flexible with where I work and allows for frequent walks! I have my own dog and cat at home and always make sure they are well fed and well-entertained throughout day! Cuddles at night are always a must and heavily encouraged.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saco
This was my first experience with Sparrow and I was delighted to see how happy my cat Rasmo was to be in their tender and attentivecare. Sparrow sent lots of updates and was very responsive to my questions. I also received lots of photos showing Rasmo snuggled up and relaxed, which really helped to put my mind at ease while I was away. I would hire Sparrow back anytime!

Brittany was an exceptional and attentive sitter for our two dogs. We had to say goodbye to one of our beloved pups just before the stay, and she showed so much care in comforting the other two as they adjusted to his absence. It meant a lot that she kept their routine consistent and gave them plenty of extra affection during such a difficult time. When one of them experienced a medical event, she handled it with professionalism and calm, which we truly appreciated. Communication 10/10.

We loved having Anna stay at our house for a week looking over our sweet boy! I was very appreciative that she took time out of her weekend to come meet him prior to booking so he was nice and comfortable when she arrived, since we had to leave him very early in the morning. She was communicative and sent pictures of him napping throughout the week, and I knew that he was comfortable and happy with her! She also left our house sparkling clean and it was really nice to come home to that!

Heather was excellent house sitting with our cat when we went away for a few days. We got regular updates, and it was clear that he warmed up to her quickly. She left our house neat and tidy. We will definitely ask Heather when we need a cat sitter in the future!

Ken is awesome! He took such good care of my Cutter, sending me messages and pics daily of he and Cutter. For some reason they do not show up in Rover (probably my fault). He took care of my property, even washing and making up the bed. Will definitely call on Ken again for future services. He is absolutely wonderful and it allowed me to fully enjoy my vacation knowing my dog was comfortable and safe. 💗

This is the second time that Jillian stayed with our pup and we could not have been happier with our choice to re book! We got plenty of updates all weekend and came home to a tired pup and a spotless house. She even brought our packages in which was very much appreciated.

Nikki is the best! She takes care of my cat by visiting and I can’t tell you enough how nice it is to receive daily updates and pictures. And this wonderful lady books last minute thank you thank you will definitely use you again and this is a five star experience.Po thanks you too 🐈⬛

Aimee did a great job house sitting for us and watching over our dogs. This was our first experience with Rover and she was kind enough to come do a meet and greet prior to the overnight we requested. Her calm, professional and caring approach was sincerely appreciated! Would certainly rebook! Thank you Aimee!

FAQs for House Sitting - Saco
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Saco on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 670 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Saco. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saco walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saco maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saco choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
