“Treated my girl Stella like a princess the whole time and kept Oreo plenty amused. I don’t think they’ve ever come back to me healthier after staying over with a sitter for so long. Highly recommend”

“Nicolette was professional, attentive and a great dog sitter taking them on sniffventures, walks, dog parks, ect. Our pet had such a great time making new friends he didn't want to leave when we came to pick him up. We'll definitely be doing business with Nicolette in the future! Thank you so much Nicolette for being exactly what we and Odin wanted/needed, you're the best:)”

“I'm only hours home from my trip, but made it my first priority after unpacking to review my experience with Trisha and Dan, who "pet-sat" our dog Piper this weekend. Piper is attached at the hip to my wife. He was a dog that was found abandoned on the street, abused, and has a bit of what we think us PTSD. He gets VERY nervous if you are not right at his side, cannot stay alone, etc. Unfortunately my cousin suddenly passed away and were needed a dog sitter so we could attend services out of state. Very nervous that it would be hard on Piper to be without us, (and knowing we couldn't put him a kennel-type environment with his anxious personality), we spent hours on DogVacay looking for the perfect host. Trisha got back to us within minutes (talk about professional!). She was so awesome and detailed, and we knew right then that Piper would be in good hands. Piper stayed with Trish and her husband in their gorgeous home in a safe, quiet neighborhood (with a fenced in backyard) for 2 days, and they were excellent at communicating with his. They're such good people- so kind and friendly and love animals. Piper is now home (though I'm not sure he wants to be!) I've said jokingly "Piper- Do you want to go back to Trisha, Dan, and Stout's house?" and his ears perk up and the tail starts wagging. They are the best of the best, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We are forever grateful to them for taking Piper on such short notice and taking such good care of him!”

“Lottie had a wonderful time with Anne! The house has a great backyard for Lottie to explore and she got along well with the other dogs. Anne is amazing in sending daily updates with lots of pictures. I will certainly go to Anne again for boarding Lottie.”

“This was our second time booking with Cassidy family, and once again we’re so grateful she was able to accommodate a last-minute request! It gave us real peace of mind knowing Lucky was in good hands. She sent photo updates throughout the stay, which we really appreciated. Her dog and children were both incredibly sweet and gentle with Lucky — it’s clear they’re a dog-loving household. We’re confident Lucky was well cared for and would happily book with her again!”

“Katie was great with drop off and pickup. She administered Clover’s meds and was quick to get back to me when I communicated with her. She was also very flexible with my late pickup when plans changed, and I really appreciate that.”

“Elisabeth makes Louise feel so welcome and at home. Louise is so excited to get out of the car there and I am so at ease knowing she is so well cared for. Highly highly recommend Elisabeth!”

“Kimberly provides such a welcoming and calm space. My anxious dog warmed right up to her and she understood his boundaries well. She has great knowledge of dog behavior and signals, which puts me at ease while I’m away.”

About: Hi! It's nice to meet you (& hopefully your pup too)! I'm Lindsay, an active, responsible, and caring pet-sitter who treats each pet like they're my own. I've had plenty of animals around since I was born & I've dog & cat sat for friends and family a bunch over the past 10+ years, from quick stop-ins for food & water to walks & overnight visits. Nothing brings me more joy than leaving an animal happy and tired from a great day together. I work from home, so I have flexible daytime availability to visit your pet. My work schedule fluctuates depending on what projects I'm working on, but I can always make time for a walk! Your pet's well-being will always be top of mind. I’m currently offering dog walking and check-ins. I would be walking your dog around the neighborhood or to the closest park for some much-needed fresh air! If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, please reach out :)
“John is amazing. Our little Arlo is afraid of everyone (except John) He almost didn’t want to come home with us. He took such good care of him. He will always be my go-to. One thing, your pup may be lackluster the next day from the exercise he got and missing John.”

“Once again, Poe had a great week’s stay with Vanessa and Pepper! He’s a senior, has his quirks and needs medication. We were able to enjoy a vacation knowing he was in her expert care. I know he’ll be happy to see them again :)”

“I’m so happy we found Sergey at the last minute. My two dogs stayed with Sergey’s for six nights. They came home tired, happy, and clean. Sergey was extremely flexible with our timing when our travel was delayed. I would not hesitate to recommend Sergey as a pet sitter.”

“Carmen did an amazing job with Jerry’s overnight stay. She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. She also ensured that he had a potty break right before pick up! I am super grateful for her help with Jerry and helping my shy pup feel comfortable being away from home. I know Jerry is safe in her care. Thank you again!”

“Stefany was amazing. She accepted my last minute request and responded to all my messages very quickly. She gave me lots of updates and bonded immediately with my dog, even though he can be picky about people sometimes. Would recommend for anyone who needs a dog sitter in Maine!”

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
