“First of all, let me start by saying this couple is by far one of the nicest families I’ve met out here. Last minute booking and they welcomed my pup with open arms. Cassidy and Cody kept me up to snuff with day to day life while I was away and even sent pictures of them on adventures. They took great care of my pup and their sweet kids spoiled him with hourly cuddles and brushes so he came home looking like a million bucks. Thank you to the entire family for taking such great care of my boy. Aloha”

“Bri was a great sitter for Freddie. Both before and during his stay she was very communicative. Freddie was nervous about being away from home, she kept us updated throughout the day and I knew he was in good hands. If we visit the area and need a sitter again, Bri will be our only call!”

“I’m so happy we found Sergey at the last minute. My two dogs stayed with Sergey’s for six nights. They came home tired, happy, and clean. Sergey was extremely flexible with our timing when our travel was delayed. I would not hesitate to recommend Sergey as a pet sitter.”

“They were very friendly and tried to bond rigjt away with my Bostie who was more interested in checking out theirs. Lucy was very happy when I picked her up. The fenced in yard is definitely a plus. I will use them again.”

“As always, we hope and pray Anne is available because Stout always comes home happy and healthy and exhausted from his stay. Maggie and Lulu are the perfect fit for my old man. When he’s at her house he gets so much play out. She cares for wonderful dogs who welcome Stout to the pack Everytime I drop him off. You can tell they are all happy and cared for. We book everytime we travel. Thanks Anne!”

“Minnie Pearl had a wonderful stay with Austin and family! It's clear she was relaxed and enjoying herself. The photos and messages throughout the process were so reassuring. We'll definitely book them in the future!”

“We were anxious about boarding our 7 mo old, but Kathleen and Dylan immediately made us feel comfortable with going away for the weekend. As a mischievous puppy with a lot of energy, it was great to see how they rose to the occasion with outdoor exercise and entertainment. Sending updates and pics kept us feeling like Homer was in good hands. The communication was great and everything went seamlessly. We would definitely use their services again!”

“Laney took such wonderful care of our dog while we were on vacation. We were nervous having never left him for a full week before. Laney kept us up to date on how Silas was adjusting and sent us frequent photos and updates (which we had asked for). Thank you!”

About: 35 years of experience caring for dogs, puppies, kittens & cats. I’m good with anxious dogs & scaredy cats. I have a flexible schedule, let me know how I can help. I am currently doing Rover full-time. For many years i have lived in homes with pets and helped care for them. Currently living in a home with 1 cat, 1 dog, and 12 chickens. We also do doggy day care and do boarding- so we keep pretty busy. I always walk dogs on their leashes. I make sure to keep medications and other harmful things locked away. We have a fenced in yard, but i’m always out there with them. I try to take as good care for your animals as if they were my own.

“Our pup had a wonderful time with Janice, and with great communication throughout the stay we had peace of mind she was well cared for. Would definitely recommend and look forward to our next booking!”

“Amy was wonderful with my poodle, accepting the challenge to tire him out by the end of the day. She is courteous and easygoing, and has a large fenced in yard for the dogs to play. I would definitely hope to schedule with Any again.”

“Jessica was awesome with my pups! It was last minute and a puppy 4 months old with lots of energy. When I pulled in to pick them up and they were out playing with the kids I knew I made the right choice. She made me feel as though I could enjoy my weekend away and that the dogs would be fine. This was my first time using a sitter and couldn't have asked for better!”

“Once again, Poe had a great week’s stay with Vanessa and Pepper! He’s a senior, has his quirks and needs medication. We were able to enjoy a vacation knowing he was in her expert care. I know he’ll be happy to see them again :)”

“Lindsay was great! We were traveling to Portland from out of town and she was very clear and prompt with communication to arrange plans. The girls had a relaxing evening with Lindsay.”

“Hank and his mom Rachel were such a blast for our dog Bode to stay with. He had a great week of playtime, couch time, and what looked like hours of dog parkour. We will absolutely be sending Bode back.”

“Kristian took very good care of our dog Josie while we were on a 10-day trip. Josie is shy with strangers but soon warmed up to Kristian. The photos she sent showed that Josie was very comfortable during her stay which gave us peace of mind that she was in good hands. I highly recommend Kristian to take care of your pet!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their West Buxton home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your West Buxton.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your West Buxton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ME ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
