“Sara took her time to learn and write down everything that was important to myself and Hank. She did a great job with him. Her enthusiasm to spend some time with Hank is very reassuring. Being a deaf puppy, he can be a challenge but she wasn't worried about it. She looked forward to working with him and learning how to communicate with him.”

“Kara was excellent…my puppies were very happy with her, as I have 3 pups with three different personalities and she had handled all three wonderfully. Punctual, attentive & caring.”

“Abigail was so great with moose! She worked through a snafu with our keys seamlessly and cared for moose so well. We can’t thank her enough for taking care of our boy while we were gone for an evening. ❤️”

“Dannelle deserves 10 stars. She was so helpful on such short notice, she sent pictures everyday, and also text me when she got to my house and left. Can't say enough good things about her!”

““Lyndsay was great! She was responsive, sent a ton of photos of our babies, and kept us updated throughout our trip. We don’t have the easiest five-animal household, but Lyndsay handled everything with ease. She also did a wonderful job administering medication to one of our 5-month-old kitten, which gave us extra peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future and highly recommend her!””

“Amanda was great. She did a meet and greet which was great. She communicated when she visited our kitty and provided pictures and a video. We would definitely use Amanda again.”

“Nishat aka The Cat Whisperer was incredible!! She took wonderful care of our cats and home while we were gone for 10 days. She sent pictures and updates which was fantastic. Hands down the best sitter we’ve ever had!”

“Nicolette was prompt and engaged with our baby Cash during their visit. My wife and I were pleased by her updates and the way she treated Cash. Will definitely use again.”

“Lori is amazing with Joey—I trust her completely. There are only a handful of people I’d feel comfortable leaving him with, and she’s absolutely one of them. She’s great at communicating how he’s doing, sharing updates on his mood and how the visit went, and always makes sure he gets plenty of love.”

“Gigi has been absolutely fabulous with my dog Thor these past few weeks. She takes excellent care of him. Takes him for a walk around my house, fills up the water bowl and sits on the porch with him. She also gives a great detailed update on the rover card of what he did during her stay with him and sends lots of photos. I have been so happy to have her take care of Thor while we are at work and puts me at ease knowing she is there to let him out on those long days. Will definitely rebook again!!!”
“Kaden visited my pup two times over the course of a weekend and kept me in the loop with pictures and frequent updates! We were very happy with our experience! Thanks again!”
About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10 years old as a pet sitter, but we got our own family dog as a toddler. Over the years, that experience has grown into a true passion, and I now have 2 dogs of my own. I’m used to all kinds of personalities, from high-energy dogs who love long walks and playtime to more relaxed companions who just want cuddles. I’m all about keeping tails wagging with lots of attention, exercise, and love. I work remotely full-time, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. Because I am not tied to an office, I’m able to let sit in your home and be present for walks, feedings, playtime, and companionship—keeping your pets routine as normal and stress-free as possible. When caring for pets in your home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and maintaining a calm, familiar environment. I follow your pets routine closely—from feeding schedules to walks and playtime—so the feel secure and comfortable while you’re away. I treat your home with the utmost respect and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, affection, and supervision at all times.
“Grateful for Rachael‘s availability! I was in a bind when my husband was out of town and I needed to go into the office. Rachel quickly agreed to come over to walk our Maizy girl. With the reunion the day before, Maizy recognized Rachael immediately, even though it had been three months! She greeted her with a happy smile and tail wags! Thanks again, Rachael for taking such good care of our girl!”
“Miranda was on time and very conscientious providing detailed updates on our dog and lots of photos that we loved! We felt at ease knowing she would be in good hands with Miranda. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of numerous breeds of dogs and cats for 8+ years with 5 years of sitting being professional. I have experience with pregnant, nursing, newborn, young, and old dogs and cats! I grew up living on a farm with acreage and 2 current German Shepherds, but am familiar with owning 5 dogs at a a time and caring for up to 10-20 dogs and puppies at a time (I worked with a breeder for about a year once)! Whilst living on a farm I’m also very familiar with cats and kittens! I’ve sat for a private rescue with 20+ cats and am used to giving medication, watching the elderly, and caring for the kittens! I have a lot of patience and anything new that I haven’t seen is a new challenge for me to learn! I will be working full time from late afternoon to the evenings in the summer ! So for the moment my availability is mostly in the mornings and after 8:30 pm! I treat every furbaby and their home with respect! If I am staying over I will make sure that everything is kept clean and safe, especially for the pets that I will be watching over! I don’t do pet stays at my apartment unfortunately! If I’m coming in and out of a home, I make sure that safety for you and your home is my priority.
“Brooke was wonderful to work with. We needed someone last minute while on vacation and she was able to quickly accommodate us and our four dogs. She was kind enough to call and FaceTime first to put us at ease. She communicated well throughout the day and sent pictures. Thanks for everything!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Buxton. On Rover:
- 99% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
