Cassidy and Cody were so laid back, relaxed and flexible when it came times and days we needed care for Fern. Fern was nervous at first meeting and staying with new friends Gus, (their dog) and their 2 children, but she was wagging her tail and so excited to go back to their house the following day! Fern got extra walks, and even went to the beach with them! We felt very comfortable leaving our baby In their care! I also appreciated getting text and picture updates of how Fern was doing throughout the day. I would definitely reach out to Cody and Cassidy again for dog sitting when we are in the area.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of family and friends since I was in my teens, but more extensively in college and since. For 3 years I boarded and sat for three different family friends. I’ve personally helped raise 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve even helped herd sheep and tamed alpacas! I work nearly full-time as a server at a restaurant, so Wednesday to Saturday night I’m unavailable for somewhere between 6-9 hours on those days. When I have my off days I’m usually at home or out for a walk. I’m usually efficient with my errands and have extensive free time on off days. My apartment is a one bedroom, so if I’m not playing around the apartment with the pet, I’d want to bring them on a walk or to the park. I have a very comfortable bedroom conducive to nap time, and I live in the heart of Old Port. Whenever I am with pets in my house I am always looking to set up a cozy space for them to relax with blankets, pillows, their favorite toys. I try to make them feel like a proper guest in my home like anyone else. My apartment is always very quiet despite being downtown, but I would hope to find activities we could do in and around Portland to help keep them active and entertained.
About: After losing my best friend, Benjamin Franklin, a 13.5 year old Lab mix, in May, I’ve decided to open my heart and home to caring for other dogs. I got Ben from a rescue when he was just 12 weeks old and spent the latter half of his life caring for his complex medical needs, including medications, specialized nutrition, and significant mobility assistance toward the end. I miss him dearly, and I know just how much our dogs mean to us. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors, and am comfortable with administering medications and extra care needs. I work from home, so your pup will have plenty of company and attention in my quiet, cozy home. I also love getting outside for walks and hikes! Your dog will be welcomed with lots of love, patience, and snuggles. I know how hard it can be to leave your best friend in someone else’s care, and I want you to feel confident that they’ll be treated like family while you’re away. I currently work from home full-time M-F, so your pup would have company all day! I can board pretty much any day of the week, schedule lunchtime walks and will ensure your dog has what they need to be comfortable and happy. I have a large yard that has some fenced in areas. I am close to many walking trails that allow a longer walk. I generally do not walk with dogs off leash unless I am familiar with them, they have excellent recall and I can guarantee they understand and respect other dog's body language. Dogs are allowed on the bed and furniture if that is the rule at their home. I make it a point to prioritize their comfort and minimize any stress they may feel in a new environment.
About: I have a beagle named Lily, had her about 4 years now and we do a lot walking and hiking! I really love dogs, grew up with them always in the house. I am new to doing this professionally but I think it would be a very fulfilling job for me. I work part time at the moment and am available all day for walks and boarding Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. Also available for walks only until 3 pm Friday and Saturday. I live in an apartment in a very walkable area. For boarding your pet will be kept company at all times with my dog Lily and I.
