“Lindsay was great! We were traveling to Portland from out of town and she was very clear and prompt with communication to arrange plans. The girls had a relaxing evening with Lindsay.”

“Elisabeth makes Louise feel so welcome and at home. Louise is so excited to get out of the car there and I am so at ease knowing she is so well cared for. Highly highly recommend Elisabeth!”

“John is amazing. Our little Arlo is afraid of everyone (except John) He almost didn’t want to come home with us. He took such good care of him. He will always be my go-to. One thing, your pup may be lackluster the next day from the exercise he got and missing John.”

“Annie was a godsend. She was able to look after my boy for a week on short notice, made time for an initial meet and greet, and was very patient with him (he can be an anxious boy). He absolutely adored her, and I was able to completely detach and know that my baby was in good hands while off on my work trip on the other side of the country. I will definitely be checking for Annie's availability in the future whenever I need a sitter, she's good people and she took such good care of my dog.”

About: 🐾 Hey there! I'm Emily, a passionate pet-sitter with a lifelong love for animals. Growing up, pets were always a part of my family, teaching me the importance of care and communication. I understand how hard it can be to leave your furry friend behind when you're away, which is why I strive to provide a loving and attentive experience for both you and your pet. I ensure they receive the same love and attention they would get at home. Can't wait to meet your adorable furry friend! 🐾 I am available mornings and evenings everyday. I work from home so I have the flexibility to check on your pet throughout the day or work from where ever your pet is! I care for animals by listening. Pets tell you what they need a lot of the time! Whether we are going on long walks, going to the dog park or just hanging out at home I’ll make sure your pet has a friend!
“Molly took Walter on fairly short notice as our usual sitter was unavailable. She even ran him back and forth to a day camp for us on a couple of days. It was good to see pictures of him having fun with the pugs during our trip!”

“Sridevi took wonderful care of my dog, Sasha. I had to book with her at the last minute because of a funeral and she could not have been more accommodating. Sasha was so content at her house in such a short period of time, I was very impressed. Sasha does not usually warm up to people so quickly, so I knew she was in good hands. 🐾”

“Claudia and Jason are truly amazing dog sitters. They took excellent care of our large Aussiedoodle , who never likes to be separated from me. They took him on many varied walks and on one of them even got him a pup ice cream, had cuddle time, time for play and rest. He returned home calm, confident and tired. I fully trust Claudia and Jason and am so grateful to them.”

“Heidi was a wonderful sitter for our dog! He was well taken care of while we were away for 4 days. He was well exercised, clean, and very tired when he came home! Heidi also adapted how she took care of Sam based on his needs and mood. She went above and beyond. We’ll certainly book with Heidi again!”

“Brittany agreed to watch my dog super last minute and was SO sweet with him! She house sat for me and left it spotless. I wish she’d sent more photo updates, but overall a great experience! :)”

“I’m so happy we found Sergey at the last minute. My two dogs stayed with Sergey’s for six nights. They came home tired, happy, and clean. Sergey was extremely flexible with our timing when our travel was delayed. I would not hesitate to recommend Sergey as a pet sitter.”

“Harrison is a dream sitter with great care and daily photo checkins. He treated our Birdie like his own. She misses him now. Will definitely book again. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up dogs from the time I was little- labs, retrievers, shepherds- and had a special needs rescue dog with my partner for many years who lived to be fifteen. When she passed, my partner and I started boarding and house sitting regularly and have built up a pretty cute little pack. I am comfortable giving oral medication and upholding your dog’s schedule, house rules, and love to take field trips whenever possible. My favorite is when a dog can come with me everywhere, so smaller senior pups have become my specialty, but I can’t help but love all the dogs who come along. As a videographer and Maine youth basketball coach I have a lot of flexibility in my work schedule and spend a lot of time working from home editing videos. I’m fairly active, always happy to take breaks from work to walk around the neighborhood or find a pet-friendly beach to run around on. I’m in an apartment very close to Deering Oaks Park and the Western Prom. The apartment is a compact second story walk up and has been carefully maintained to keep it safe for curious noses.

“Katherine did an amazing job with Boone. He was well rested and not anxious at all when I picked him up. She was very flexible and communicative during his stay. I was very happy!”

“Christine is a new favorite dogsitter! I left one of my dogs with her and her canine crew for five days—she came home happy, healthy, and tired after romping around the big fenced yard, dipping in the pool, and snoozing on the couch. Worry-free dogsitting from a true dog lover. Thanks, Christine!”

“Alex was fantastic with my older German Shepherd, Raven. I left her in his care while I was at a race and had complete peace of mind she was in good hands. Thank you so much.”

“They did a great job taking care of our bulldog. He is a large breed and loves attention, their whole family gave him lots of love. They were flexible with our schedule and easy to work with. Would definitely use them again.”

“Our pup is a sensitive, nervous guy. Marna made sure he felt loved and at home. I could tell he was having fun with her family through the photos she sent. She filled us in each day and sent photos. 🤩 Will definitely use Marna again!”

“Trisha and Dan took such good care of our precious pup. We were very anxious to leave her for the first time. Trisha put our minds at ease with her gentle demeanor. We received pictures and videos multiple times a day so we could see for ourselves how well taken care of our dog was.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - South Portland
Avital was an amazing sitter for our 11yo dog. They checked in with us regularly and sent photos everyday. Our dog required daily medications from a recent surgery and Avital was super comfortable with this. This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous going into it, but Avital quickly made us feel comfortable leaving our girl with them. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

Brittany took care of Miki in my home for 2 nights. She left the house clean and tidy and Miki was her cheerful, happy self when I came home. It would be good to double check Brittany's schedule with her in advance. It turned out that she was not able to be there at the appointed time when I left, nor at the time when I came home. She said that Miki was only left alone for an hour each time. There was good communication.

Claudia and Jason (Ilan) were amazing with our pup! He has some anxiety about new people and places and they moved at his pace. It’s obvious that they have a lot of experience working with dogs and genuinely care about them! They always made sure he was comfortable, happy, and had enough exercise. They sent lots of adorable photos and updates and quickly assured us that he was in the best hands while we were away. We will definitely reach out to them for future dog sitting!!

Josh was an incredible dog watcher for Whistler. He went above and beyond, including taking her to our wedding so that she could be our ring bearer. He also took her to the lake and she had an absolute blast with his other two dogs. He was attentive, loving, and sent us pictures all the time of her adventure with Josh!

Jill was so good with my dog Louie. She kept me up to date on how he was doing, with photos and some funny videos. She was flexible as best she could be about drop off and pick up. She was very conscious of Louie’s safety and health, taking excellent care of him. Louie loved her and felt right at home. I will definitely leave my dog with her again. Thank you, Jill
