About: Willing to walk most nights a week Worked with large dogs (mainly Great Danes) Have worked with a reactive dog (Family Pet) Dog was reactive on lease with other dogs. When walking I had to be very aware of other dogs that were around and had to be able to move quick when I did see a dog also had treats to distract him from the other dogs. Any time after 4:00 on weekdays due to other job Saturdays: 7 AM - 10 AM and 6:30 PM - 9 PM Sundays: All Day I care for my parents dog and love him very much, when I watch him we usually will hang out in the house or go to the dog park because that is where my parents take him. When I watch someone else dog I like to follow their rules and listen to what they are asking of me. I have watched my sister's dog who is reactive and when watching him I have made sure that I am aware of what he is doing, what I am doing and what is around me. Personally I don't think that the way I care for my parents and families pets would be different from a clients because all pets should be loved!
“Madeline the best dogsitter I’ve ever had. My pup, Piglet, is slow to warm up and incredibly anxious and Madeline went above and beyond to meet Piglet on her terms and make her comfortable. They quickly became best friends. Madeline was super communicative with me, sending updates and pictures and you could tell she truly loved Piglet even though it was her first time watching her. She also did great at walking her, giving her meals twice a day and her complex array of medications. And she left my house cleaner and nicer than I left it for her. I cannot recommend Madeline enough.”

“Elise did a great job with our dog while we were away for two nights. We loved the photo updates she shared and her confident, calm demeanor. Our house and dog were in perfect order when we arrived home. We both recommend Elise’s services and will book with her for future needs. Thank you Elise!”

“Nishat was awesome. She was communicative, flexible, and helped make our wedding day special at spruce point inn. She went out of her way to walk the dogs to the church where we were getting married so they could be a part of our day. Completely above and beyond the expectation, couldn’t recommend more!!”

About: I bring a high level of experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m comfortable handling everything from structured walks and feeding schedules to medications and special care needs. My goal is always the same: dependable care, clear communication, and a happy, well-cared-for dog. Working from home allows me to offer flexible scheduling and near constant supervision, ensuring that your dog receives attentive, reliable care and plenty of interaction. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment in every aspect of care. I closely follow each dog’s routine, including feeding instructions, walk preferences, and any special needs. My home is clean, dog safe, and supervised throughout the day, and when caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the same level of attentiveness. I always use secure leashes, monitor interactions carefully, and communicate regularly with updates for peace of mind.
“Shannon saved us when our dog sitter had to cancel last minute. Our home was left cleaner than we left it and our dog was happy as could be! We will definitely be using Shannon in the future!”

“Megan was our house sitter and cared for our two dogs and a cat for a long weekend. She was great - the puppies and kitty were well cared for and the house was perfect when we got home. Everyone was happy. 💕 We’ll ask Megan to come back again. Thanks!”

“Jay stayed with my dog Lucy while I went on a business trip across the country and she was so wonderful with my sweet old girl. She was very curious about Lucy’s needs and communicated with me and shared some pictures along the way. I came home to a happy dog and I’m so grateful to Jay for taking such good care of her!”

“Jackiellen has been perfect for us every step of the way! She's an excellent communicator, flexible and accommodating, kind and considerate. She made the whole process super easy and worry-free. And maybe most importantly, she has a very natural connection with our dog and cat, from the first moments they met. We felt super confident leaving our animals in her care and will absolutely call her again. She asked good questions to be sure she was clear on everything needed. She took great photos and sent just the right amount of updates while we were away. She took great care of our home, leaving it even neater than she found it. Honestly, I can't recommend Jackiellen enough.”

About: Have grown up with dogs in my house my whole life and have always been a call away for neighbors and loved ones for help! Love pups and excited to meet some new friends! I work as a server so I have a little bit of a weird schedule but leaves my days open during the week so super helpful if you need walking at all during your work day! Available weekends as well mostly in the mornings before my shifts. Taking the dogs out for walks feels like a reward for both of us and love to spend the time outside! I live in a quiet relaxed apartment with a roomate who loves dogs as well, right by eastern prom so big area for walks there. Will be able to be present with the dog in the house full time while they are there with lots of walks throughout the day and lots of love as well!
“Bret accepted our short notice booking and stopped by for a meet & greet before we headed out for a weekend trip, which was great. Our pets are currently pretty low maintenance but it was important for us to have someone stay the weekend while we had some R&R. We’d have Bret back on a future vacation.”
“Our boys had another awesome stay with Viva!!! She takes such wonderful care of them at our home and always sends plenty of updates and pictures! Thank you!”

I have managed groups of dogs and been tasked with training new employees on dog body language, aggression, and group play safety. I have worked with aggressive dogs, fearful dogs, reactive dogs, as well as puppies, seniors, and dogs with disabilities. Animals are my life and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else! I will leave your home exactly as I found it or better, I always plan to take out the trash on the last day of a pet sitting job and I will follow your instructions carefully about waste bags and house rules. I understand I am a guest in your space and I always take that seriously!
“Jamie was a fantastic sitter for my dog Oscar. She will be my go to from this point forward. She was communicative from the point of inquiry through until the end of the booking. She sent regular updates with photos and was happy to respond to any inquiries in between updates. She was respectful of our home and I came back to a well exercised and relaxed pup! It is difficult to trust someone with your animal but Jamie definitely has both mine and Oscars! We can't wait to use her services again!”

“Jeanelle took great care of our girl Gretchen while we were out of town for a few days. Very communicative with us and attentive to our pup. Highly recommend!”

About: I've spent all 20 years of my life around animals of all kind, but I have always had a special connection with dogs. It's hard being away from my family puppy, Milo, as I'm at college, so Rover allows me to get my dog time in while also helping those who need extra help with their furry family members. I have good experience with training and exercising, but I also do love a good rest and chill day. Whatever your pup needs, I can accommodate. I am most frequently available on weekends; almost every single weekend I am free to devote the day to you and your dog's needs. That being said, I can always make time every single day of the week. Each pup requires a different kind of care. Whether it's a long walk, stimulating games like hide and seek, fundamental training, or just somebody to relax with at home, I will be my my goal and my honor to fulfill your pets needs at the highest of my capabilities; and to have fun doing so!
About: "What sets me apart is my commitment to the pets that others often find 'difficult.' Having grown up in a multi-pet household, I speak their language. I specialize in senior cat care (including special medical needs) and behavioral management for dogs. I have learn to handle reactive dogs, ensuring your pet stays safe and calm under my watch. Whether it's a senior cat needing gentle patience or a dog that requires a firm, knowledgeable hand on walks, I provide the expert care and peace of mind you won't find with a standard sitter." Tuesday – Friday (Evening Focus): I work an in-office schedule during the day, meaning I am fully recharged and ready to focus on your pet starting at 6:00 PM. On these nights, I promise to prioritize high-quality bonding, including long post-work walks, dinner routines, and evening snuggles. Saturday – Monday (Full-Time Availability): This is when your pet gets my undivided attention. Whether it’s an overnight or a long weekend house-sitting, I am available all day and night to maintain their specific exercise and potty schedules. Because I have a set office routine, I can help give your cat or dog the kind of predictable schedule they might have if you were at home full-time. I have found this to be especially helpful for adult dogs or cats who are already accustomed to their owners being at work during the day. ***While I typically balance pet care with my weekday office job, I am fully available 24/7 for House Sitting, and Drop-ins during the following 2026 vacation windows: Spring Break: April 17 – April 27, 2026 Summer Kickoff: June 26 – July 3, 2026 August Adventure: August 14 – August 24, 2026 Thanksgiving Week: November 24 – November 30, 2026 Winter Holidays: December 21 – December 29, 2026 During these weeks, I have no office commitments and will be able to provide your pet with around-the-clock attention, long walks, and constant companionship. Your home is your pet's sanctuary, and I promise to treat it with the utmost respect. During my stays, I focus on maintaining a sense of normalcy for your furry family members—especially senior pets or those with behavioral triggers who thrive on a predictable environment. Whether I am managing complex medication schedules for a senior cat or dog or carving out time for their exercise, my priority is their safety and comfort. It’s important to me to ensure your home stays secure, tidy, and lived-in while you’re away, which might mean managing mail or keeping your plants watered.
“Yiran took great care of our dog Trudy! She sent us lots of updates, asked questions as needed, and we could trust that Trudy was in good hands with her.”

South Portland pet parents share their Rover experiences
Savannah was amazing with Darla while I was at a conference. This was my first time using Rover and Savannah made it completely stress-free. She sent daily pictures, and every one showed Darla totally relaxed and snuggled up — clearly living her best life. 😊 It meant so much to see how comfortable and happy Darla was. Savannah is caring, reliable, and just has a natural way with cats. I will absolutely be booking her again and highly recommend her!

Megan provided excellent overnight care at our home for our two German Shepherds while we were away on a short vacation. She provided us with delightful daily photos of the dogs enjoying their walks and her loving care of them. She was a very considerate houseguest and cared for our home as if it were her own. We are grateful for her service and would be eager to engage her outstanding service again in the future.

Our dog Midi is 12 years old, is blind, has some mobility issues, and is mostly deaf. She can be very particular in her needs for care because of this. Viva was absolutely an angel caring for midi and was very careful with all of her needs. She communicated with us throughout the pet sitting and the best part was she treated our dog with so much love and care.

Bryan has housesat for us multiple times and is just incredible with our dog. He sends updates regularly so we always feel like we are in the know. Our dog is usually very shy of others but she loves him. Bryan is excellent and we are so grateful to him for all he has done for us!

Meagan was great!- she saved me from a travel nightmare when i lost my petsitter due to airline cancellations & rebooking. She accommodated my schedule last-minute, had no problem administering meds to my hyperthyroid cat (and didn’t blink at my 3+ page pet-sitting instructions, which have gotten embarrassingly long & detailed), & endured all of my anxiety and (likely too frequent & annoying) check ins & inquiries about their welfare while I was away with good humor & kindness. The cats seemed happy & calm when i returned after a week away, which is all I really care about!- but she also was very respectful of my home, leaving everything clean & in order, even washing the linens & towels (which I consider above & beyond, but is certainly appreciated)! I will definitely seek out Meagan’s assistance with my kitties again, & absolutely recommend her to anyone in & around Portland looking for trusted help with their pets 🙏❤️🐱🐱❤️
