“Our kitty doesn’t usually love strangers but he was very friendly with Paige! Highly recommend Paige, followed through on everything we discussed, took wonderful care of our cat and shared great reports & pictures. Thanks Paige!!! ♥️”

“Thank you so so much for your help Stacey! Thank you for taking my request at the last minute. Jerry looks so happy in his pictures. Plus, you take the best pictures, lol. Thanks again.”

About: i have taken care of a lab and a sweet tortie cat throughout my life! i have also walked/fed/sat for several pets in the past for neighbors, including single dogs and cats, and multiple cats. I am recently graduated from college and am looking to fill my free time! I currently am working a day-shift job (9:30-6) and am willing to care for animals both before and after those hours. i make sure that the pet feels comfortable (or like it can tolerate) my presence before most activities! a lot of how i care for my animals are very schedule based, usually they even tell me in their own ways when they are ready/want to walk or be fed!
“We just moved to the area and adopted a 9 week old puppy- I was nervous about finding a sitter but Meagan went above and beyond to help the transition. Absolutely recommend her, she showed Tebow so much love!”

“Jayson is my first choice always to care for my two cats! I used another sitter once and I very disappointed. Jayson gives the cats 2 meals per day and follows the directions for what to add to their food at each meal, he leaves the house clean and litter free and washes out the food cans and puts them in an airtight container, He is responsive and posts neat pics. Jayson is an awesome guy and caring cat sitter! Linda”

About: I’ve been dog-walking and pet sitting for several years now! I love spending time with dogs and am having to go for runs or the beach with them, or just relax at home! I’m a second year medical student, so happy to sit for pets in the evenings, as well as provide breaks during the day! I’m typically most open on the weekends but am open to weekdays as well. I will follow directions closely and respect your home like it is my home! I like to do frequent check-ins and am happy to do a meet and greet beforehand.
“Consistently great. It's such a wonderful feeling to have someone who really loves my cat in my corner when I'm away on trips - the peace of mind cannot be overestimated.”

“Sera was so communicative and responsive! She went above and beyond with my cat- made sure to spend quality time with him and sent detailed updates. I look forward to working with her again!”

“Nishat and I are newly meeting for my cat, Stella’s care. So far I’ve been extremely impressed by her foresight and thorough job. I have also very much appreciated all the pictures along the way (: thank you so much Nishat!”

“Jesika was so great, so helpful and flexible and reassuring! This was our first time leaving our cat all alone and she went above and beyond to make sure the kitty was ok!”

About: I've been around dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience caring for a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I've also fostered dogs, which has given me experience helping dogs adjust to new environments and routines with patience and consistency. I'm very active and enjoy long walks, so I'm well-suited for dogs that need regular exercise and engagement. I'm also highly detail-oriented and organized, so I closely follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any specific care routines your dog needs. Professionally, I work as a program coordinator in a day program serving adults with special needs. This role has strengthened my reliability, communication skills, and ability to stay calm, attentive, and responsive in all situations. You can expect clear updates, consistency, and a high level of care every time I'm with your dog! My work schedule is 7am-2:30/3pm Mon-Fri in Portland. I’m an early riser and can do early walks or afternoon/evening walks! I’m unable to care for dogs at my current residence unfortunately but I’m very trustworthy and respectful of other people’s homes! As a previous dog owner, I know the importance of routine and familiarity and have found that dogs are much more comfortable staying in their environment when their human(s) are away than they are staying in a new place. I strive to help them maintain that routine and comfort!
“Julia was wonderful with our dogs! She provided excellent care to our animals, and kept us informed with how they were all doing during her drop-in visits. She is dependable, reliable, and caring. Thank you, Julia!”

“Katey provided great care for our cat while we were away for the holidays. She cuddled and played with him to his heart’s content. She was on time every day and sent many pictures and updates to ease our minds. Definitely recommend!”
“Erin was absolutely AMAZING with my sweet and at times crazy 75 pound Bernese Mountain Dog. She gave her so much love and took her on fun outings. I have rarely trusted anyone to watch my pup, I am so happy we found Erin - I know we will be seeing her again!”

About: I have a dog of my own and have been dog sitting for friends for years. I’m not afraid to give meds and clean up messes. More than happy to help :) Unfortunately , I’m currently working part time Door Dashing and as a traveling hairstylist and need to make more money. I’ve definitely got time to help :) My dog gets a daily allergy pill in the morning before his 10min walk. I clean his ears once a week … unfortunately, he’s prone to ear infections so I have to keep a close eye on them.

About: I have always loved both dogs and cats since I was a kid! I have been around dogs since I was little and I live with a cat now! I would adore taking your furry friend for a walk or checking up on your cat when you are away. I am currently trying to fit dog walking into my schedule in the mornings before my job starts (STARTING IN MAY). I can also check up on your furry friend in the evening. I am also building my online business so days I am not at my other job are more flexible! I am very good at directions and pay attention to details. I will follow the directions left by the owners when doing a check in! I listen to the pet, and if they are not so sure of me, I let them come to me (especially with cats!) And of course there will be lots of pets!
“Super reliable. Communication was perfect. Had forgotten to give key code. And they still showed up and contacted me. Went over and beyond what I expected from my dog sitter. Extremely professional and was great with my dogs.”

“Madilyn was amazing! This was our first time using Rover and we were so happy. She was caring and attentive toward our pet, and we felt like we could relax on vacation knowing he was in capable hands.”

Hanna is awesome! This is the second time we've worked with her and the first since we adopted our second cat. She was very sensitive to their rocky relationship and especially patient with our older cat, who takes time to win over. It was very easy to relax on our trip knowing our cats were left in such good care.

Carlie was great! During our meet and greet she took notes which I deeply appreciated. I requested pictures every check in, and Carlie absolutely delivered! She was responsive and easy to communicate with. Benji (cat) liked her as well! We came back to a happy cat, well fed, and a clean litter box. Would happily book again.

Molly is a great pet sitter. Our two cats love her. She is so reliable and flexible. Her communication with us is excellent, and her photos are wonderful! We have multiple times and will continue to book her to care for our beloved kitties. We absolutely recommend her!
Meagan was a complete star! She helped us out at the last moment, and came aboard with a positive attitude and an attention to detail. We are so grateful for her daily updates and detailed notes -- they really put as at ease. Would highly recommend, and hope to have Meagan sit for us again in the future!

We are so grateful to have Anna as our friend of Nahla while we travel occasionally. She faces Nahla's occasional old lady grumpiness with treats in hand and wins Nahla over in a minute. I especially appreciate Anna's use of the Rover card so I know exactly when Nala is out and about and whether or not she peed and pooed and what she ate and when she's back home. To have such thorough communication while we are far away is a great comfort.

Lindsey was professional and clearly a dog person! Our pups had a great time playing with her. She sent pictures and updates so we were never wondering how they were doing. My dog got super muddy and she cleaned her up and also took care of the messy towels. I would absolutely trust her to care for our pups again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
