“Madeleine took excellent care of our two cats while we were away for a few days! They can be very messy eaters, and we were impressed at how clean our space was when we returned.”

About: Animals have always been the center of my world, from growing up with pets to pet-sitting countless dogs and cats across NYC. My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!
““Lyndsay was great! She was responsive, sent a ton of photos of our babies, and kept us updated throughout our trip. We don’t have the easiest five-animal household, but Lyndsay handled everything with ease. She also did a wonderful job administering medication to one of our 5-month-old kitten, which gave us extra peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future and highly recommend her!””

“Rose was a wonderful caretaker for my diabetic cat. She administered her insulin and gave very detailed updates with lots of pictures! She cleaned up after my kitty and brushed her and played with her. I would recommend Rose to all pet lovers in need of a sitter! She was a great communicator and was very obviously an animal person.”

About: I've been caring for my personal cat since 2018, although I grew up with cats and a dog in the house and had close relationships with them. I have a Bachelor's in Animal Behavior from the University of New England (UNE). I worked at a doggy day care for a year and since the beginning of 2025 have been walking dogs and providing other pet care services for clients. Pet care is the focus of my weekly routine. I'm available from 10am-5pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and 10am-4pm Fridays, for walks, and can be available for check in visits or housesitting any time of the week. I go above and beyond to try to make sure your pet enjoys their time with me, while also following all rules and instructions you might leave me. I provide a summary of each visit as well as at least one photo, to make sure you know exactly what's going on with your pet.
“Hannah was amazing. Super responsive, communicative and caring. Exactly what you want from someone watching your pets!! 10/10 recommend and will be using her again. Thanks Hannah!”

“Stacey is an amazing dog sitter/walker! Hershe loves having her over and she even taught me about the easy walk harness. Hershe doesn’t pull on walks anymore ?”

“Sara is wonderful, her attention to detail, thoughtful communication is one of my favorite qualities. Tatertot was well taken care of on her drop in visits. We will rebook, when she has availability. Your pets are in good hands! I highly recommend”

About: I grew up on a farm in Maine and took care of animals anywhere from dogs to horses! I also have experience working at a doggy day care where I would look after 20 dogs. I am a work from home therapist so your pets would get a lot of care and attention :) Due to my virtual job I have a lot of flexibility to walk and take care of your pets. Love an excuse to get out of my chair! I am currently prioritizing pet sitting for the southern Maine area. I also am currently not hosting. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to meeting your pets :)
About: Longtime dog lover and owner, current parent of a 9-year-old Siberian Husky service dog whom I trained to myself. I love dogs of all sizes and shapes and personalities and I can't wait to meet all the wonderful furkids that I'll be looking after in the future. I'm always telling people "I may have trouble remembering your name, but I will always remember your pet's name." Though I am small in stature I'm actually quite strong and can handle large/muscular dogs (and the occasional feral cat when necessary), because I just know how to move with them/guide them. I'm also not intimidated by aggressive behavior in animals, nor do I meet it with aggression in return. I always try to calm the animal and figure out the issue, putting myself between them and anyone/anything that might upset them further. I have a personality/presence that dogs seem to love, from the timid to the social, the calm to the active. I'm a fast walker, so your dog will certainly get a workout they'll love as they keep pace with me, but I can also meander when needed for the older dogs and fumbling puppies. I have experience doing basic grooming for dogs: bathing, brushing, shaving away mats, clipping nails, trimming the fur between pawpads, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears. I do not have experience doing "style" cuts for dogs. I know snake pet care as well, so feel free to inquire if you need someone to look after your danger noodle! Pet care is my primary work focus right now as I work through completing my online schooling towards getting my degree and Vet Tech licence. I have a backyard for your dog to play in alongside my very friendly Husky. It's not fenced in, but I keep a spare long-lead on-hand, same kind as I use for my girl, for guest dogs. If your dog is an especially strong one please let me know and I'll make sure to have an lead appropriate for your dogs weight strength available. Inside the house is dog-friendly and spacious, and I can crate your dog if needed. My dog is allowed on the couch and my bed, so do let me know if those are no-go areas for your dog. If your cat likes outside time I can provide walks and/or put them out in the backyard on the spare long-lead.

“Marna is super communicative and always willing to go above and beyond. She was my first Rover experience and could not be happier with her professionalism. I have and will continue to rebook her!”

About: I grew up with dogs most of my life. I love caring for animals. Up until recently, we owned a beagle mix named Randi. I would spend time walking trails, at the beach, around the neighborhood. I would also play with toys inside with him, throw the ball. It does not matter the weather for me. I have cared for dogs of all ages. Up until recently, my schedule consisted of walking our dog in the morning, and then a second time at night. I would also take him outside to sunbathe during the afternoon when available. I treat your pet like I would my own. I am happy to accommodate to any special needs or instructions you may have when walking. I make sure they are safe, happy while on walks.
“Christina was a great help, giving my dog a yard break during a long day! The two got along so well that my pup just wanted to cuddle instead of play fetch, and I'm happy that Christina obliged! I definitely plan to book Christina again.”

“I really appreciate you taking the time to do a meet and greet ahead of time and then all the photos while I was away. It was good peace of mind to know you were there taking care of them. Thanks, Nishat for looking after my fur babies :).”

Kelsey did a wonderful job with my cat. He was able to get his playtime in with lots of love and snuggles while I was away for the week. The daily pictures and notes made me feel so much better about him being back home with out me and they were so sweet. Would highly recommend her! Very professional and attentive!

Jordan was amazing. Communication was phenomenal- everything from scheduling to updates while we were away. Jordan is easy to get along with, and very considerate (a side note of thanks for bringing in a package out of the rain!). We highly recommend Jordan and will be returning customers!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
