““Lyndsay was great! She was responsive, sent a ton of photos of our babies, and kept us updated throughout our trip. We don’t have the easiest five-animal household, but Lyndsay handled everything with ease. She also did a wonderful job administering medication to one of our 5-month-old kitten, which gave us extra peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future and highly recommend her!””

About: I’ve lived with and cared for dogs for over five years, including my own pup for the past two. I’ve helped family and friends with dog sitting, walking, feeding, and basic care for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’m patient, calm, and attentive—always making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or keeping up with routines, I treat every dog as if they’re my own. I currently have Friday and Saturday off from my regular job, which makes my schedule very flexible for pet care. I’m happy to help with walks or drop-in visits on those days, and can often accommodate other times as well with advance notice. I always make sure your pets get the attention and care they deserve while you’re away. I specialize in drop-in visits for dogs and cats, as well as dog walking, and I take pride in providing attentive, reliable care. I’m very detail-oriented when it comes to pet safety, comfort, and following each pet’s routine. During drop-in visits, I make sure fresh water is always available, meals are served according to your instructions, medications are administered correctly when needed, and your home is secure so your pets remain safe and comfortable. On dog walks, I stay alert at all times to prevent dogs from picking up or eating anything off the ground, and I’m especially attentive to curious puppies and easily distracted dogs. I also pay close attention to our surroundings to ensure every walk is both safe and enjoyable. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care and give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is in good hands every time I visit.
“Sara is wonderful, her attention to detail, thoughtful communication is one of my favorite qualities. Tatertot was well taken care of on her drop in visits. We will rebook, when she has availability. Your pets are in good hands! I highly recommend”

About: I've been caring for my personal cat since 2018, although I grew up with cats and a dog in the house and had close relationships with them. I have a Bachelor's in Animal Behavior from the University of New England (UNE). I worked at a doggy day care for a year and since the beginning of 2025 have been walking dogs and providing other pet care services for clients. Pet care is the focus of my weekly routine. I'm available from 10am-5pm Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and 10am-4pm Fridays, for walks, and can be available for check in visits or housesitting any time of the week. I go above and beyond to try to make sure your pet enjoys their time with me, while also following all rules and instructions you might leave me. I provide a summary of each visit as well as at least one photo, to make sure you know exactly what's going on with your pet.
“Tatertot was well cared for on these drop-in visits. Tatertot enjoys the attention given. Rose is detailed and communicative on the care given to Tatertot. Will rebook when schedule allows”

“Lisa did an exceptional job watching my two cats for a week. She provided a daily update and photos and was very responsive. She went above and beyond and I highly recommend her.”

About: I grew up with dogs most of my life. I love caring for animals. Up until recently, we owned a beagle mix named Randi. I would spend time walking trails, at the beach, around the neighborhood. I would also play with toys inside with him, throw the ball. It does not matter the weather for me. I have cared for dogs of all ages. Up until recently, my schedule consisted of walking our dog in the morning, and then a second time at night. I would also take him outside to sunbathe during the afternoon when available. I treat your pet like I would my own. I am happy to accommodate to any special needs or instructions you may have when walking. I make sure they are safe, happy while on walks.
“Amanda was great. She did a meet and greet which was great. She communicated when she visited our kitty and provided pictures and a video. We would definitely use Amanda again.”

“Sara took her time to learn and write down everything that was important to myself and Hank. She did a great job with him. Her enthusiasm to spend some time with Hank is very reassuring. Being a deaf puppy, he can be a challenge but she wasn't worried about it. She looked forward to working with him and learning how to communicate with him.”

“Stacey, Was very accommodating quick to respond and most importantly took good care of our cats. She shared a lot of pictures and was punctual. She even helped shovel our front walk.”

About: Animals have always been the center of my world, from growing up with pets to pet-sitting countless dogs and cats across NYC. My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!
“Elizabeth was literally the best sitter we have ever had. She was not only so kind to me after telling her about an awful experience with a previous sitter—but she made me feel at ease! My babies loved her, and I love that she loved my babies. I wish that she wasn’t leaving my area! I’d keep her forever!! Thank you again, Elizabeth. We were both able to fully relax knowing our kitties were in safe and reliable hands 🖤 let me know when you’re back in the area!!”

“Nishat and I are newly meeting for my cat, Stella’s care. So far I’ve been extremely impressed by her foresight and thorough job. I have also very much appreciated all the pictures along the way (: thank you so much Nishat!”

“Danielle is amazing! She is highly dependable and responds in a short period of time giving us peace of mind. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a kind and reliable sitter. She has gone the extra with us and are so thankful to have her care for our baby girl.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
