“Melissa took very good care of my cat while I was away, and sent a lot of photos of him. She made sure his stuff was all taken care of. I felt like he was safe and cared for while I was not able to be around. I recommend Melissa for taking care of your pet!”

“Hannah was great! She did an awesome job with our 3 month old puppy and was happy to accommodate his twice a day schedule. She was prompt and attentive, would use her again.”

About: Experience, work remotely, flexible schedule, own dogs in the past, able to walk frequently, able to be active with dog if needed. I am very active with my dog and would love to extend to the dogs I’m looking after :) I'm currently working remote and have the flexibility to take your pet out frequently and give them lots of energy. I have a lot of experience in the field I have a friendly 5 year old dog that loves other dogs. We are quite flexible and loving to our pets in the home and they are sure to feel comfortable
About: I grew up on a farm in Maine and took care of animals anywhere from dogs to horses! I also have experience working at a doggy day care where I would look after 20 dogs. I am a work from home therapist so your pets would get a lot of care and attention :) Due to my virtual job I have a lot of flexibility to walk and take care of your pets. Love an excuse to get out of my chair! I am currently prioritizing pet sitting for the southern Maine area. I also am currently not hosting. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to meeting your pets :)
About: I'm a fun-(and dog)-loving person who has been taking care of dogs (and various animals!) for my whole life. I've watched homes and animals of my neighbors, professors and friends. I understand the importance of love and care for animals, and how even just a walk can make a huge difference in the life of a dog. I've cherished my life with dogs and LOVE squishy dog faces. There's nothing better than walking into a home and being greeted by a drooling, furry friend who loves you for you (and definitely not just your treats). I've also done housekeeping, so if there's any picking up you need me to do while you're out of town, I'm happy to! Thanks so much for your time (and your dedication to your pets!). I currently work full-time, but have the ability to make my schedule flexible. My husband works from home and is able to do frequent walks/potty breaks if your pup is staying with us. I am as well - just usually in the afternoons around 2-3pm. On weekends, we are completely flexible as we try to keep them free of any scheduled activities! We have a fenced in yard to keep our pup safe as well as any guest dogs. We can definitely crate your pet as well if they find comfort in their little den. We are open to discuss any needs you/your pet might have!
“Julia was great. Responded immediately, on time for each visit and communication was perfect. Highly recommend. Our special girl Bridget would also give five paw stars.”

“We recently moved to the area and had to find a new dog sitter which is always stressful. As soon as I met Silvia and saw our dog instantly fall in love with her, I was totally at ease and relieved. We feel so lucky to have found Silvia! She took great care of our dog Beau and was very easy to communicate with. We felt totally comfortable having her at our house and we will definitely be reaching out to her in the future when we need help with our dog!”

“Nishat was extremely timely and quick to respond when I needed some last minute care! She sent lots of photos for updates and made me feel better that my kitties were getting some play time and love while I was away 🥰”

About: I’ve had my own pup since I was about 15. Love spending time with animals of all kinds. Over the years I’ve always been happy to house sit/walk dogs of friends and family. I’m responsible, reliable, and loving towards all animals I work full time at Enterprise car rentals however I have 3 days a week where I’m out early afternoon. Most of my free time is spent running I’m SUPER excited to work dog walking (or running if they are up for it) into my schedule. I’m also more than happy to house sit. Working with animals makes my heart happy! I have an elderly pup my self so I understand the need for extra care with the seniors. Im good with taking specific directions for each dog and continuing training practices as described.
About: If begging my parents for a dog since birth counts, I’ve been a dog lover for 50+ years. In terms of actual pet ownership, I’ve owned and loved my cats and dogs for the past 25+ years. In addition to having my own fur family, I’ve also happily sat or walked my friends and families. I’m heading into retirement and will have oodles of time to keep your pets company while you’re at work or taking a fabulous vacation. I’m available for house sitting at any time. And currently available for dog walking Friday though Monday. In a few months, my dog walking schedule will free up to 3-4 days during the week. Having raised animals and kids, I know routines help everyone feel confident and safe. I respect whatever you know your animals need. As an example, if you need me to take them on long walks, cuddle on the couch, or bring them for a fetch and swim in the lake, I got you covered.
“Heather was amazing with our two cats! She was able to give one her pill each morning without trouble. Plus they ate well for her and she sent lots of pictures and lovely notes! We would absolutely hire Heather again.”

About: Hi! I’m Morgan! I’m a mom of two living in Gorham and an animal lover. I know how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your pets and treat them like their own while you’re away. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping your pet company and giving them some extra love and attention! I have a pretty flexible daytime schedule, especially during the afternoons, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. I’m dependable, patient, and comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. I’d love to meet you and your pets and hopefully become someone you can regularly count on when you need an extra hand! “Avital, you took such great care of our Betty! Thank you for your pictures, communication, and thoughtfulness. We are excited to have you back with Betty next weekend! Thank you!!!”

“Justine just finished caring for our two cats for the first time and we certainly hope not the last time!!!! She was communicative, detail-oriented, and sensitive to how our cats were doing and what she could do to help them. For example, when one of our cats wasn't eating, she moved the food to the cat's hiding spot, which solved the problem! Thank you so much, Justine, for taking care of our cats and reducing stress on our wedding weekend! :D”

“Briana took excellent care of our diabetic cat! She really went above and beyond, playing with him and giving him affection, and is one of only 2 sitters who have successfully been able to administer insulin injections.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Westbrook
Amy is incredible, she goes above and beyond to make sure my pup is loved and cared for. My dog Lilo is almost 10 and dog reactive, but Amy not only won Lilo over immediately she was also able to take her for walks while effectively managing Lilo's triggers. She goes out of her way to make sure Lilo has plenty of attention and stimulation and I feel so much more relaxed about having to leave my pup with Amy taking care of her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
