About: Animals have always been an important part of my life. I grew up with a cat who was much more than a pet—because I didn’t have any brothers or sisters, she was my best friend and constant companion. Later, after meeting my husband, who had a dog, I discovered how much joy dogs bring and how different, fun, and rewarding it is to spend time with them. This is the first sitter I've ever hired who wasn't already familiar with my cats and our home. I was nervous because of my boys needs medicated eye drops every 12 hours, which isn't his favorite thing by far, and he also generally takes a while to get comfortable with new people. Catey's super calm and solid demeanor was evident from the get-go, and this helped my boy a lot. Meds went off without a problem. About: I grew up dogs from the time I was little- labs, retrievers, shepherds- and had a special needs rescue dog with my partner for many years who lived to be fifteen. When she passed, my partner and I started boarding and house sitting regularly and have built up a pretty cute little pack. I am comfortable giving oral medication and upholding your dog’s schedule, house rules, and love to take field trips whenever possible. My favorite is when a dog can come with me everywhere, so smaller senior pups have become my specialty, but I can’t help but love all the dogs who come along. As a videographer and Maine youth basketball coach I have a lot of flexibility in my work schedule and spend a lot of time working from home editing videos. I’m fairly active, always happy to take breaks from work to walk around the neighborhood or find a pet-friendly beach to run around on. I’m in an apartment very close to Deering Oaks Park and the Western Prom. The apartment is a compact second story walk up and has been carefully maintained to keep it safe for curious noses.

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of family and friends since I was in my teens, but more extensively in college and since. For 3 years I boarded and sat for three different family friends. I’ve personally helped raise 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve even helped herd sheep and tamed alpacas! I work nearly full-time as a server at a restaurant, so Wednesday to Saturday night I’m unavailable for somewhere between 6-9 hours on those days. When I have my off days I’m usually at home or out for a walk. I’m usually efficient with my errands and have extensive free time on off days. About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life—from Cavapoos to Corgis to Wheaten Terriors to Doodles, to Boxers! I’ve also had the pleasure of having a Goldendoodle of my own as well! About: I have been a loving dog owner since I was born and the type of person you will always find petting various animals. I have been pet sitting and dog walking since I was nearly 10 years old and love every minute of it! I currently work three long days a week at the hospital, which are different each week, which, for the most part means I’m only available for your animals on my days off. Special exceptions may be worked out during overnight stays where I have time before and after work. On the plus side, my days off are very flexible! About: I have pet sat for neighbors, friends and family for six years where I was responsible for walking and feeding their animals. I grew up with an Australian Shepherd and have been walking dogs since I was 10. I am an Elementary School Teacher so I am looking for something part time or full time for the summer months. “Justin was fabulous with our boy Seamus! He took Seamus on many hikes and walks with his precious dog Lulu and sent pictures and videos everyday. Justin went above and beyond for Seamus and even took him for a pup cup and gave him a bath. Seamus was beyond well cared for - he became a welcomed member of Justin's family. Would highly recommend Justin to care for anyone's pets - he was wonderful!”

About: Dogs give me a lot of love and now I have time to give back. I have 3 boys ages who may join and help me walk dogs if multiple leashes and paces are involved. I work from home and take a lot of long walks. I have kids who will sometimes join me on longer excursions in the woods. I have been trained by a sweet elder lady Tornjak named Rhae who taught me how to care for sensitive dog without provoking any anxiety.

“Kelly was awesome! My dog Luna has only been with a sitter a few times and this was the longest. Kelly let us do a meet and greet first which we appreciated. We felt very comfortable with Kelly and Luna did too. The regular updates and pictures while we were gone really helped ease our minds. About: I grew up dogs from the time I was little- labs, retrievers, shepherds- and had a special needs rescue dog with my partner for many years who lived to be fifteen. When she passed, my partner and I started boarding and house sitting regularly and have built up a pretty cute little pack. I am comfortable giving oral medication and upholding your dog’s schedule, house rules, and love to take field trips whenever possible. My favorite is when a dog can come with me everywhere, so smaller senior pups have become my specialty, but I can’t help but love all the dogs who come along. As a videographer and Maine youth basketball coach I have a lot of flexibility in my work schedule and spend a lot of time working from home editing videos. I’m fairly active, always happy to take breaks from work to walk around the neighborhood or find a pet-friendly beach to run around on. I’m in an apartment very close to Deering Oaks Park and the Western Prom. The apartment is a compact second story walk up and has been carefully maintained to keep it safe for curious noses.

He has a backyard with a deck and when I arrived to pick her up, she greeted me but went back to her spot on the deck and would have been happy to stay, I think! James sent a photo and video when I texted to see how she was doing and that was reassuring. We have another weekend away scheduled in the next couple of months and plan to ask James to take care of her then, so I would recommend him highly. He has a super friendly dog and she was good company for Maya.”
