“Maria and Kevan are wonderful!! They made our dog feel at home and I love all the photo updates I get from them. They’re very sweet and kind and I would definitely recommend them to any pup.”

“Ulunma was wonderful! It was my first time using any sort of doggy daycare for my dog, and he had a blast with Ulunma. She sent lots of photos of him playing and swimming. Thank you, Ulunma! :)”

“Ying is a wonderful dog sitter. She took care of our 75lbs Shepard mix and sent us fun photos and generally cared about his well being. We hope she’s available the next time we need a sitter!”

“Christine was incredibly easy to communicate with, professional, and showed wonderful care for my dog Manchi! She navigated her anxiety and quirks so well, took her on a bunch of walks, and even gave me a polaroid of her holding a show, her favorite thing to do 😊”

About: At my house, your dog will be in a cozy family environment with my two friendly pugs! Other than my two dogs, yours will be the only dog in the house. I only accept one dog at a time! No contact with unknown dogs over here :) After years of watching dogs for friends and family, I decided it’s time to take it professional! I am a knowledgeable dog lover, a remote worker, and I have a great (fenced!) backyard. After an early wake up and garden time, we have puppy breakfast and then a snuggle sesh! During the day we alternate between downtime in the office/free roaming and outdoor breaks when weather allows. Outings happen in the evening, we love the east bay regional parks! If we don’t have time for an outing, we bust out the backyard toys to still get in a good chunk of playtime :) Banshee (1.5, pug mix) is always down to play tag with pups that have more energy, and Azula (6, pug) is ready for a couch nap partner all day long My large backyard is fully fenced, to keep my two small dogs safe. Even so, we never leave dogs unsupervised! I am a lover of (force free!!) crate training to keep dogs safe and secure when left alone for short periods of time, but as a remote worker this is rarely necessary. I am knowledgeable of plants and foods that are dog toxic, and am experienced in dealing with allergies and other minor health issues and I am comfortable giving medication.

About: I’ve been working with animals since my teenage years, including 2 years at a pet store and assisting at multiple dog expos starting at age 16. I’ve owned and raised dogs throughout my life—one lived to 17 years old, and I currently have a 3-year-old friendly miniature poodle. I personally house-trained both of my dogs and have strong hands-on experience with daily care routines, including feeding, walking, bathing, nail trimming (for cooperative dogs), and light grooming such as basic haircuts. I’m comfortable managing a structured, calm environment and have experience caring for multiple pets at home, including my two outdoor cats. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine. We are a family of six, and I am home 24/7, so dogs will never be left alone for long periods. I have a flexible schedule that allows for regular walks, supervised outdoor time, and attention throughout the day. My large gated property makes it easy to provide safe exercise, and we structure the day to keep dogs calm, engaged, and well cared for. Dogs in my home are treated like part of the family. I provide a calm, structured environment with 24/7 supervision, so your pet is never left alone for long periods. I follow each dog’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, and any special instructions. Dogs enjoy supervised outdoor time on our large, fully gated property, as well as long walks in our safe, dog-friendly neighborhood. Safety is our priority—we introduce dogs carefully, feed separately when needed, and adjust supervision and leash use based on each dog’s personality. Our friendly miniature poodle helps create a welcoming environment.
“Valerie was exceptional! Her attention to and care for my puppy Monroe was expert and knowledgeable. This was Monroes first time away from home, and Valerie was rightfully concerned about his severe separation anxiety. Like the professional she is, she helped Monroe through it while updating me with pictures, information, and tips the entire time. Valerie is very down to earth, friendly, and caring. Your fur friends are 100% in excellent hands!”

“We are so glad to have found Kelly. She cared for our 6 month old puppy for our first big trip since we got her — a little over a week. Kelly clearly loves dogs, and she takes the time to get to know potential clients (humans and canine) to make sure they’re a good fit. She was so patient with everything that comes with a puppy this young, including potty training confusion at a new place and not being comfortable being alone. We got lots of photos and videos while we were away, and Rotini came home happy and healthy.”

“Once again, Coco had a great time and was doted over! Many pictures sent to me allowed me to not worry at all while away. Highly recommend Danielle and will definitely book again.”

“Wow, I’m glad we found Mike! First, he was extremely responsive. When we messaged looking for boarding for our dog in about a weeks time, he replied quickly and set up a meet and greet for the next day. He replied quickly to all our messages bout logistics. Second, he has a great combination of attentiveness and no-stress. He asked all the usual questions about our dog, and wanted to get to know her needs. When meeting Bowie for the first time, he read he body language as other dogs went by and even guessed “she isn’t been to this park before, right?” Which was true. Our dog isn’t used to socializing much with other dogs, so we were a little nervous about leaving her with another dog in the house. But Mike was very relaxed and confident about it, without being minimizing. We could tell that he reads dogs carefully and knows his dog well which made us feel comfortable that he could manage the two dogs interactions well. Finally, Bowie clearly had fun! We got some great pictures of her on hikes, lounging in the yard, and napping on the couch - her kind of vacation! My only hesitation in leaving a positive review is that other people might snag the future dates we want for boarding 😁”

“I had a very positive experience with Chen boarding my pup Bernie for a few days. Bernie is a well behaved dog, but he has a few needs that Chen took on willingly. He also took the time to meet with me and Bernie ahead to make sure all his needs were understood. It is clear to me that Chen loves pets and treats them with care. He sent me many updates reflecting his attention to Bernie's comfort and sense of feeling at home and with family. He also sent many stellar photos. Chen has a real talent there and I think also shows his adoration of the pets he cares for. Chen and his family were kind and warm to me and to Bernie and I reccomend him for you.”

“They were a treat to work with! I was a little nervous leaving my 6-month-old Australian Shepherd because of how much energy and attention young Aussies require, but they exceeded all expectations. They took excellent care of him during his stay, including taking him on multiple hikes and making sure he got plenty of exercise and enrichment. It was clear when I got home that he was happy, healthy, and well cared for. I really appreciated the level of attention and care they provided, and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and loving sitter.”

“This was my first time with Rover and it could not have been a better experience. We have an older somewhat anxious cockapoo, but it was clear the minute we arrived at Jenean’s that my dog, Lulu was in caring hands. It was clear when we picked Lulu up after 2.5 weeks that Lulu has been well looked after. I will definitely be booking with Jenean again.”

About: I have spent my entire life with at least one dog in the household. I currently own two of my own that are ready to welcome slumber pawty guests! I have used Rover for years so I know what I like in a sitter, and plan to extend those same qualities and perks to our guests. My partner Ryan also works from home most days, and has also owned and cared for dogs and cats over the years. We both wake up early and let the pups out supervised in the fenced yard before breakfast. While the yard is fenced, we do keep a constant eye on them as they roam from the house to the yard throughout the day. Afternoon naps on the couch are typical. We usually go on early evening walks around the neighborhood if your pup has an exercise routine you’d like them to stick to. If they are good in public we are happy to take them on hikes. Our yard is fully fenced, and we have an additional fenced side yard with fake turf for when it’s raining and the pups don’t want to go outside.
“Marlene was wonderful! She was very responsive, kind, and reliable. We met before, so she could be introduced to and ask questions about Birdy. She has a great home environment, and I definitely felt like my pup was in great hands. I would be more than happy to work with Marlene again (as would Birdy!)”

“Hope is great with nervous dogs and makes them feel comfortable and loved. We booked her last minute for a week long trip caused by a family emergency, and it was so nice to not have to worry about our pup. Hope is very communicative and sends lots of pics and videos. Great sitter!”

“My animals are always so happy and healthy after a stay with Mariola! They definitely see it as their home away from home. I'll absolutely have them stay there, pretty much any time I leave town.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Orinda
Beth and Jeff were absolutely incredible! My girl Sunday is high energy and sometimes gets a little nervous in new places, but Beth and Jeff made Sunny feel right at home. She ran around in their oasis of a backyard and played with her new best friends (Beth and Jeff’s 2 kids)—she was even allowed to sleep in their room! Sunny came home reluctantly and very tired! Sunny already can’t wait for me to leave town so she can stay with her new pals again!

Rohun and family provided the best care for my Bernese mountain dog! Her needs have changed since she is getting older, and she is on a medication schedule. I felt very confident and reassured knowing how responsible and responsive Rohun is to my requests and my dog’s needs. I will continue to book this pet sitter with complete confidence.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
