About: My experience caring for animals goes back to childhood. At 13, I had my own horse in the Oakland Hills, and my first job was caring for horses at the stable to help pay for his board. Animals have been an important part of my life ever since. Years later, my Australian Cattle Dog, Taz, became one of my greatest teachers. He came to me as a highly reactive rescue, and I developed a structured behavior-modification plan using positive reinforcement, consistency, exercise, and careful attention to his triggers. With patience and years of dedicated training, he made tremendous progress and went on to live a long, happy, and deeply loved life. That experience gave me a strong understanding of canine body language, behavior, enrichment, and the importance of structure and trust. I’m comfortable with senior dogs, rescue dogs, high-energy breeds, and dogs who may need some extra patience. I know that every dog is an individual, and I take the time to understand their personality, routines, boundaries, and quirks. I’m also a professional artist, and animals are a big part of my creative work—I especially love drawing pet portraits and caricatures. Working independently gives me flexibility in my schedule and allows me to give the animals in my care focused attention. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or pet sitting, I want your pet to feel safe, comfortable, engaged, and genuinely cared for. I take the responsibility of looking after someone else’s animal seriously, while making sure we have some fun along the way. I work independently as an artist, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive pet care. She took amazing car of my dog and seemed super comfortable with the notes I left her—my dog is pretty easy going but can be a bit needy at times. I got a handful of updates throughout the weekend but I was also able to turn my attentions away and feel really comfortable leaving her in charge of the little guy. I'm happy to echo all the great things that have been written in other reviews of Jeff and Beth's dog-sitting paradise! Our golden retriever, Kanga, loved the park-like yard from the moment she entered. And it was clear from the photos Jeff sent that Kanga got lots of extra outdoor fun every day in Redwood Park. Photos also showed that Kanga got lots of love from the kids in the household :) Logistics were easy - a meet-and-greet meeting was set at my convenience, as were drop-off and pick-up times. Beth was out of town so I didn't get to meet her, but Jeff set me at ease right away with his good organizational skills and his obvious love of dogs. We highly recommend Jeff and Beth's and look forward to returning!
Our dog Winston came home super happy from staying a week with Rachel and her family. We got text and photo updates, and she was great about communicating how he was doing. We felt extra good that he got to play with other dogs and kids while he was there. He came home happy and it was really nice to have a great peace of mind that our furry family member was well cared for while the rest of us were vacationing.
Daria was so loving to our two beautiful dogs. She watched them for 3 nights and sent us the sweetest photos and updates. One of the dogs is only 8 months and still needs a lot of attention and supervision and I felt so safe leaving her with Daria. We also had some delays with our flights and had to extend our pick up and Daria was so accommodating and flexible! I highly recommend Daria to care of your animals and will definitely reach out to her again in the future!
