About: While I'm new to Rover, I have over 10 years experience taking care of my friends and family's cats, dogs, insects, and plants. I'm excited to start this business on Rover and extend that pet/plant care to the people in my East Bay community! I'm a landscape horticulture student in Oakland, so when I'm not in class, working in my garden, or spending time with my own kitties, I love taking care of my friends, neighbors, and families' pets. They bring so much silliness and happiness into my routine! When walking your dogs or taking care of your pets in your home, respect, safety, and trust are my top priorities. The pet parents I work with know their pets best, and I take their guidance and wishes very seriously. When I'm housesitting, I treat clients' homes with even more respect than I treat my own.
“Ayanna took great care of my 2 cats! She was very responsive, sent videos to check how she gave my cat medication, and lots of photos, I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Alyssa was so great with my two cats. She had excellent communication, reliable, and super friendly! I really appreciated her willingness to coordinate a meet and greet with my mother while I was away, and would highly highly recommend her for any one needing a cat sitter. My girls loved her!”

About: I'll give your pets the attention and care they need, through tug-of-war, cuddles or even just my presence at home. I'm also happy to take your dog on adventures if you're comfortable with it :) I'm currently looking for work, so I can be present as much as your pets need me to be. I only need to leave the house to go to the gym or sports practice. As an animal lover, I'll pay close attention to how your animal is feeling, and make sure they get the attention and care they need. I'll also take care of your home and leave it clean and well taken care of per your instructions.
“Jesse was so kind to accommodate for my last minute booking. He made sure my pup was taken care of and is a very considerate sitter! Appreciate the regular updates and flexibility. Will definitely recommend him for any future bookings.”

“Stephanie did an incredible job watching my cat! She provided lots of pictures, videos and detailed updates every day. She was also super helpful grabbing packages, watering house plants and dealing with an unexpected ant issue. Truly so grateful! I strongly recommend her for any pet care you may require.”

About: For the last four years I’ve lived in a home with two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. One was a senior at 13 years old and the other is three. I’ve learned how to adapt to their different needs based on age and personality while setting boundaries and aligning to my Housemate’s desires for their care. (Which has helped me get to know new dogs pretty quickly.) We walk, play and cuddle. When needed I administer medication, feed them, and sometimes cook for them. I look forward to chatting with you about your family’s needs. When house sitting I do not schedule any other families for walks or drop-ins. The care I provide is all inclusive so that your baby gets all of my love and care. If I am not house sitting, I’m available everyday after 11am for walks and drop-ins within a 1 mile radius of lower Rockridge or easily reachable by public transportation. To ensure safety and comfort, I won’t be walking any other dogs outside of your household. I am available to spend time with your pet(s) in their home where they will be the most comfortable. I’ll come to you for walks.
“Christine always takes excellent care of my cats, they look forward to each time she visits! She always makes sure they are fed, entertained, and loved. Thanks Christine!”

“Joanna was great! My senior but energetic large dog was very happy. Joanna sent photos and left detailed notes on her visits and handled the medication and feeding instructions perfectly. I look forward to going her again soon!”

About: Most people who watch pets learned to love animals as adults. I didn't have that learning curve — I grew up with dogs, cats, reptiles, and insects from age 5, which means I've been reading animal behavior my whole life. I notice things: a subtle shift in posture, eating less than usual, a dog that's friendly but actually anxious underneath. That kind of attention comes from decades of hands-on experience, not a weekend certification. I'm also comfortable with animals that other sitters turn away. High-energy breeds, strong personalities, dogs with a history — I've handled them. I grew up around pit bulls, rottweilers, and boxers, so I'm not rattled by size or intensity. For senior dogs, I understand that slower doesn't mean less — they need more patience, more observation, and a sitter who notices when something's off. I give that naturally. What you won't get with me is performative care. No staged photos where your dog looks confused on a couch. Real walks, real attention, real updates — because I actually enjoy this. Animals have always been a constant in my home — I've kept reptiles, invertebrates, and aquatic species, so feeding schedules, habitat checks, and daily observation are just part of my natural routine. Adding a dog or cat to that rhythm is natural. Boarded pets get morning and evening walks, meals on their schedule, and company throughout the day. I work from home most days, so your pet isn't sitting alone — they're in the room with me. In my home, boarded dogs get their own space to decompress when they need it, plus free roam once they're comfortable. I match energy — calm dogs get quiet time, high-drive dogs get real exercise. Cats get a separate setup with vertical space and zero forced interaction. I follow whatever routine the owner sends me: feeding times, dietary restrictions, medication, quirks. At a client's home I treat it like a trust exercise — everything stays exactly as the owner left it, and I send photo updates so they're never wondering.
“Cyvanah was wonderful with my baby boi Hilo. I especially appreciated the multiple photos and summaries of each day from Cyvanah. It put my mind at ease and I looked forward to each update while away. She bonded with my kitton spectacularly and he was cuddling on her lap in no time. She has a way with cats and I would trust Cyvanah with any fur baby of mine. She is professional, punctual and a great communicator.”

About: As a lifelong animal lover with over 20 years of experience caring for my own dogs and cats, as well as pets of friends and acquaintances, I treat every animal as if they were my own—with warmth, patience, and genuine affection. Pet owners know they can count on me for dependable, trustworthy care, whether it’s a daily visit or an extended stay. I take pride in building strong bonds with both pets and their people, offering peace of mind through consistent communication, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to each animal’s comfort and happiness. Now semi-retired and working part-time, I have the time and flexibility to give your pets the attention they deserve—whether it's for quick check-ins or extended stays, I'm here to provide loving, reliable care. About: I've grown up with multiple dogs and am now happy to have my own little corgi-terrier named Karl and a black cat named Billie. I'm my friend's go-to pet sitter and have been loving getting to know the other dogs in the neighborhood. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, large dogs, and reactive dogs. I am available in the evenings on week days and anytime weekends. Please do not book recurring walks if they need to occur earlier on weekdays. I also work as a para educator, so my schedule is flexible, but I will be unavailable for up to 9 hours at a time. Pet care and safety is very important to me. My own dog has very high needs and requires a lot of attention and care, especially on walks, so I completely understand all the peculiar needs of all pets and their individual personalities.
About: i’ve been a dog mom for 20+ years and have basically had dogs my whole life. i trained my own dog from puppyhood and i’ve helped friends (and other pet parents) with basic training and routine stuff too. i’ve taken multiple training classes, so i’m comfortable with things like leash manners, boundaries, and reinforcing good behavior in a calm, consistent way. i’m naturally really good with dogs and i’m great at reading their body language, even the ones that are anxious, reactive, or “don’t usually like people.” i’m patient, confident, and i keep things low-stress so pups feel safe and listened to. i work from home, so i’ve got plenty of time to give your pup real attention throughout the day (not just quick check-ins). i’m happy to do multiple walks a day, and since i’m near downtown oakland, we’ve got plenty of great walk routes, lake merritt, nearby parks, and lots of good “sniffari” streets. in my home, your pup gets a safe, relaxed setup with lots of attention. i have a fenced patio so they can hang in the sun and get fresh air, and inside they’ll have plenty of room to stretch out, lounge, and roam comfortably. we’ve also got nearby open spaces, fields, and trails for walks and play. depending on your dog and what you’re comfortable with, i can do off-leash play (only where it’s safe/appropriate) or keep everything leashed, solo adventures or playtime with my dogs if your pup enjoys company. i’m big on following your routine and keeping things consistent: feeding schedules, meds, crate time, training cues, slow introductions, whatever your dog needs. i’m totally comfortable with seniors, shy/anxious pups, and dogs with special instructions. and if your dog would do best with more backyard time, i can also utilize my girlfriend’s place nearby with a fully fenced backyard for extra outdoor play/sniff time (with your permission).
The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Oakland Ave-Harrison St is $30
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oakland Ave-Harrison St
Kaiya was great! She cleaned up after some unexpected accidents with our senior pup and kept us up to date on all things pups while we were out of town. She let me know if she was running late or needed to adjust the time of the drop in and sent pics of the pups so we knew they were doing well. Definitely recommend her! Thanks Kaiya!

Ayanna was the perfect pick for my boy’s first Rover! She provided many excellent photos and videos with each visit along with details on his mood, energy level, what he was up to, etc. She was super friendly, easy going, and just as chill as my old man. Highly recommend her stellar sitting services!

Meli, was super responsive and flexible. We enjoyed meeting her for a quick walk through before our trip. Our cat is typically a scaredy cat and runs away from strangers, but she was curious and open to meet Meli. I think her calming presence put her at ease. We have a regular sitter but she wasn’t available and we had to scramble last minute. Meli was a great surprise. Would book again if needed.

Reijun is detail oriented, meticulously neat, and sweet to my 2 cats! She took notes during our meet & greet to make sure she didn't miss any instructions. The cats were happy and our home was neat when we returned from our trip. Would definitely book her again!

Bryanna did an outstanding job taking care of Mellie. Bryanna was so kind, friendly, and thoughtful when it came to communication. She listened and took notes during our meet up so she’d know exactly what to do. Bryanna fed Mellie her “special foods” as instructed, took time to play with her, and let her have outside time. Also our kitty is normally so shy but Mellie warmed right up to her. Will definitely hire her again!
