“Sarah was an awesome cat sitter! She sent us adorable pics, navigated food related pickiness with ease, and was overall great to work with. Most important, we had a happy cat when we got home. Highly recommended!”

About: I have experience caring for a variety of pets, including dogs and cats. My responsibilities have included feeding, providing fresh water, walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes and living areas, administering medications when needed, and ensuring pets receive plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. I am attentive to each pet's individual needs and prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being. I am reliable, patient, and committed to providing loving, responsible care while owners are away. I’m currently unemployed while my children are in daycare and after school programs. Outside of appointments I’m free spending time with my cats and my females kittens I currently have 2 black cats. My female whom I rescued recently was pregnant and had 6 babies(3 weeks old) I’ve also had dogs and cats in my past. I love animals. My home is clean and organized.

About: I have had animals my whole life… big dogs, little dogs, cats, all of the above! I have been responsible for watching them for everything, ranging from overnight trips to midday walks and meals. I am a responsible, loving, and attentive sitter who will have the most fun with your pet❤️ I currently work a 9-5, so am free early mornings and nights. I am also open to weekend walks and over night visits, depending on your needs! I will abide by your household rules and preferences when watching your fur baby! Can do everything from feeding, playing outside, walking, and even just providing them some company!
“Jen was absolutely amazing with our cat Cleo! She sent lots of pictures and videos and made us feel very comfortable leaving our baby with her. She was great about cleaning the litter & keeping the food and water topped up, and she gave Cleo lots of cuddles and playtime and we could tell Cleo felt so safe with her! Jen is a stellar sitter!”

“Gabriela was wonderful with drop in visits for our dogs during recent travel. I felt comfortable knowing the dogs were well cared for by someone who was kind and understanding of their particular needs.”

“Carole took care of Maggie and Luci. She took them on walks in the park and made sure they felt safe and happy. She would text us updates and pictures. They enjoyed their time together, and I would recommend Carole as she is very attentive, caring and responsive.”

“Jessica was very accommodating with my relatively short notice trip. One of my cats can be very shy but he felt comfortable enough to come for most of her visits. Everything looked great when I returned home. I would definitely use Jessica again!”

“So appreciative of Grace and her care for my furbabies while I was away. I loved her check-ins and sweet photos she took of them and knew they were in great hands!!! Highly recommend!!”

“Molly was great with my cat Cinnamon while I was away for a few days! Cinnamon clearly took a liking to her despite being quite aloof with new people. Molly sent photos each day which I really appreciated so that I knew that Cinnamon was being cared for in my absence! Thanks, Molly!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, especially cats. Over the years, I have become the go-to pet sitter within my friend group and regularly care for my friends’ cats while they are away on vacation. I also grew up informally pet sitting for neighbors and friends, giving me experience caring for pets in a variety of home environments and routines. I currently care for my own cat, Reami, a 3-year-old Ragamuffin whom I have raised since he was a kitten. Reami has anxiety-related health issues that can contribute to urinary tract problems, so I am very familiar with providing attentive, patient, and consistent care for sensitive pets. Because of his needs, I understand the importance of maintaining a calm environment, monitoring behavior closely, sticking to routines, encouraging play and enrichment, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. In addition to caring for Reami, I have also helped care for my roommates’ cats in the past, including feeding, playtime, litter box maintenance, and general companionship. Through these experiences, I have become comfortable caring for cats with different personalities, energy levels, and temperaments — from shy and anxious cats to highly social and playful ones. While I mainly prefer cat sitting, I also have some experience with dogs, including walking friends’ dogs and taking them on hikes and outdoor outings. I am happy to provide patient, attentive care tailored to each pet’s personality and comfort level. As a sitter, I prioritize communication, reliability, cleanliness, and making sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while their owners are away. I am a graduate student whose lab is only a 15 minute walk away from home. My schedule is extremely flexible and except for few meetings throughout the week, my schedule is fully up to me. I am also able to leave at any point for short breaks to take pets out for walks/ check up on them. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for every pet I care for. I understand that pets — especially cats — can be sensitive to changes in routine, so I do my best to keep their schedule and environment consistent while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, litter box cleaning, playtime, exercise, and any specific routines or preferences. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel reassured that their pets are happy and well cared for. As the owner of an anxious cat with special care needs, I am very attentive to pets’ behavior, comfort, and stress levels. I value patience, cleanliness, reliability, and making sure every pet feels safe, relaxed, and loved.
“Yunwen was great with our cat, Nemo. She sent regular updates and communicated proactively. I was grateful when she was able to accommodate an additional drop-in after we had last-minute changes to our travel plan. I recommend her 100%, as she was reliable, thoughtful, and trustworthy.”

“Joseph is great! This was our first time using Rover. Our cat Walter loved him! Joseph was always on time and sent us photos and updates promptly! Highly recommend”

About: I am a people and pet person! Growing up with animals, and sitting neighbors’ dogs and cats, I feel confident and comfortable taking care of other’s pets. I prioritize getting to know their personality to best meet their unique needs and match their energy! I am currently a full time student with flexible availability. I love long dog walks, staying in to provide good company, and other potential opportunities to meet your care needs. I am attentive, organized, and lead with communication. It is important to me for your pet to feel cared for, quirks and all! I love to share lots of photos during our time together. I currently have no pets of my own.
“Nicole is the best! She is wonderful with my cat and is absolutely top: responsible, caring, proactive, and communicative. I am so grateful to have found her as a sitter!”

“Emily was fantastic. Very friendly, and comforting- my cats loved her right away. Her updates were wonderful, and she went above and beyond cleaning a hairball 😭. Highly recommend ☺️”

“Alan is an incredibly thoughtful and considerate pet sitter. We went on vacation for a couple of weeks and were worry-free due to Alan’s responsive communication and reliability. It’s clear he takes his role seriously. We are so grateful to have hired him. He is a trustworthy and kind individual!”

“Diana was excellent to work with, from beginning to end. We had a relatively short timeline before going out of town but Diana was very prompt in her communication, notes about our dog and the walks they went on were clear, and we felt very comfortable with her coming into our home while away. We would definitely work with Diana again in the future. Highly recommended.”

“Mikayla and Justin are simply great. They took great care of my dog Thelma, who can be very skiddish as she is a rescue. Mikayla and Justin spent ample time letting Thelma warm up to them before taking her out for a walk. I would 10/10 recommend them for any pet care and I will definitely be booking them again for Thelma!”

Jocelyn was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of my cat, Murphy, while I was away on vacation. She sent excellent updates and tons of great pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing Murphy was happy and well cared for. Murphy absolutely loved her! Jocelyn really took the time to give her plenty of attention and affection and made sure she had everything she needed. It was obvious from the updates and pictures that Murphy was comfortable with her and enjoying their time together. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of Murphy. I would absolutely book Jocelyn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, attentive, reliable, and genuinely caring with their pets!

Jaqueline did an amazing job watching our cat, Juniper! I was nervous to leave Juniper while we were on vacation but Jaqueline made me feel so calm and confident. I got adorable pictures everyday and an update. Jaqueline was wonderful to work with and took great care of our little Juniper!

Katherine was amazing, especially with my senior dog! She gave him his medication at the correct time, took him on lots of walks, and dealt with his separation anxiety well. I could tell she really cared and that they both enjoyed each other's company. She sent tons of cute pictures! She also did a great job of feeding my cat, who predictably decided to hide every time Katherine visited. But she wasn't alarmed by the lack of cat sightings and just reported on her feedings and how much food she had eaten between visits. I would definitely hire Katherine to petsit again! She was great!

Liz is amazing!! Communication was super clear, and my cat seemed soooo happy and was so calm and chill when I arrived back home. This was my first time leaving my cat with someone I hadn't previously known so I was a bit anxious but Liz absolutely put my mind at ease which really helped me enjoy my trip!

This is the third or fourth time we’ve booked Mary Rose and she’s been wonderful each time. She’s very responsive, accommodating, sends great pictures, and treats our cat really well. We’re never worried when we leave him with her and appreciate everything she does to keep our little guy safe and happy. 11/10 recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
